    I have the 2023 HRV base trim , with AWD. Even tough it’s the base trim, it still feels very luxurious to me, and still has all the necessary features. I love the look of this vehicle as well, and it handles and rides beautifully. Some people complain it is not fast enough, but it’s no dog either. And if you know how - you can get the power you need out of it. I have no problems.

    I got min last week 11:55 sport trim in Milano Red absolutely love it. I started to go with the Nordic Forest Green but after seeing it in person I decided the red and back looked the best for me personally. They only had the urban grey in the EXL trim in my area but I just didn’t like the looks of that trim. I do wish it was a bit more peppy though. The bad oversight was the lack of a central arm rest and cup holder the back seat. Other than that I love mine. I’m averaging upper 40’s mpg on the highway and around 34 city blown away with the fuel efficiency.

      Thank you and congratulations on getting your model as well. Yes the “S” on the shifter technically could be Sport but it’s not a dedicated Mode like how the Civic still has the S for the shifter but also Sport for the drive modes. The S honestly hardly makes a difference. Only aspect I noticed between D and S is the throttle response time when you press the accelerator.

    I’m up in West Palm Beach and just bought a new 2023 Honda Civic Touring. Love it! I really like the current re-design. I’m super short so I got the Touring model to have power seat controls and so my seat goes UP. It also has gray seats (they look ivory to me) instead of black. Black seats are just too much in the South FL heat! I drove my ‘02 Honda Civic LX for 18 years, so it was definitely time for an upgrade!

Then again after doing research, really didn't want to deal with expensive repairs. The 7 years that I have my HRV, never had to do any major repairs. just routine maintenance. Love your review -
    But
    What do u mean - in the beginning when u say “. Take your hands off the steering wheel ?”

    • @soflojoshautoreview
      @soflojoshautoreview  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is this feature the model has that like a lane centering assist where the wheel will steer for you and keep you in the middle as well as around bends. One thing is that after a couple seconds of your hand being off the wheel it’ll alert you. It’s more of a gimmick but it does help on long drives.

  • @vagabondsteve
    @vagabondsteve ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Really enjoyed your review which was very informative and concise. Could you please elaborate on the some of the assisted self-driving features. How effective is it in alleviating driving fatigue? I rented a Tesla and the lane centering, adaptive cruise control, braking, made long drives so much more manageable. Sadly Tesla has no blind spot monitoring, How are the front and rear parking sensors on the HRV? Also, why didn't you cross shop this with the Toyota Corolla Cross? Thanks!

    • @soflojoshautoreview
      @soflojoshautoreview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you I appreciate it. So as for the safety feature of the model they alert you a lot of the time while driving on the road. When you go over the line you get an alert through the steering wheel vibrating. While using the lane keep assist if you take your hands off the steering wheel for about 5 seconds it will alert you via the Center gauge and it’ll make sounds as well. I would say the driving assist features help with fatigue. I have a video coming out soon with pro’s and con’s of my recent road trip which I’ll mention those features. The sport model also does not come with parking sensors. As for Corolla Cross I was interested in that model but only the Hybrid and the Hybrid wasn’t out yet so that eliminated that model for me.

      I just test drove HRV Sport and the Toyota Cross.... To me if choosing between the two.... the Cross would not be considered. Its a wind up toy compared to the Honda in my limited experience. I crossed the Cross right off my list. This Honda is slow... but other-wise awesome..... I've owned 5 BMWs in my day ..... including 322HP I had in my M235.... can only get you a beatdown by the cops. noting the few minor flaws mentioned here in the HRV .... which are not an issue with me. If I can get one in the reasonably near future, I will. I was blown away by my test drive. The interior is incredible. Its perfect.

    • @soflojoshautoreview
      @soflojoshautoreview  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that cover is way overpriced for what it is. As for the HR-V powertrain I actually wish it was the Hybrid from Japan instead of the Turbo. The 1.5T is not a reliable engine. It’s great on gas yes but it’s really a bad engine. AC vents and USB should have been on there since the get go

      It's USB type A. Type B is squarish and was rarely used, I'm pretty sure I only saw it on printers.

    Nice review. But I'm not a fan of it. It's an improvement from the previous model. But it lacks features that it's competition has.

      Completely understandable. I agree in ways that it does lack features.

      I still like my 2016. It’s a solid car by all means. Slow ass hell, but gas. And I got 18500 for the damn thing the other day. I will only need to come up wit 10k now for the new one. I put a deposit down yesterday for msrp. 4 weeks

    The Japanese brands are equipping their cars with the weirdest options. I was surprised to see this offered as a Sport, but Sport to Honda is literally bigger wheels painted black and that's about it. I was interested in this car too, but I don't like cars that offer no manual control of the transmission so when I so Sport, I was almost sure Honda would put the paddle shifters in it. But no. Not Honda. Like the reviewer said, "it's kinda weird that Honda doesn't offer Sport in the drive modes". No, it's not weird. Honda just doesn't give a sh*t about truly sporty cars anymore. They've surrendered to letting Hyundai/KIA stomp all over them when it comes to fun cars instead.
