- Hello lovely people :) In this art vlog I want to show my motivation and process for a new sketchbook. Also, I share some tips I find helpful when starting a new sketchbook and some tips on how to fill your sketchbook and where to get inspiration.
In this video I also swatch all of my Holbein Acryla Gouache paints and do a review of this paint and how I testet it so far. Acrylic Gouache paint is such a nice medium to use in your sketchbook. I got to know it some weeks ago. Did you know it already?
I also want to share my personal story of my lost art and give you a very important art advice for your creative future.

Thanks for sharing, your story is so relatable! I used to do the same, throw out my 'bad' drawings. I missed all the learning lessons from them because I threw them out before I could see the mistakes. But... you live and learn. Now I keep my bad drawings and look at them for days to see what I can learn from them.

Das ist wirklich eine tolle Idee. Und es macht bestimmt viel Spaß in älteren Büchern zu blättern! Malen tue ich ja nicht, aber ich gestalte uns Fotobücher und auch meine Nähürojekte halte ich in Büchern fest. Da hab ich dann auch was kreatives zum blättern für später. Wenn ich mal wieder bei dir bin, will ich deine Sketchbooks sehen😍

Hi Katha, I loved your video! Fortunately I didnt throw away my old art, but I just cant find it :D Moving is always messy process. Recently I bought Holbein Acryla gouache as well, but I am afraid to use it. That it will destroy my brushes, palette etc. Any tips? Thank you
Hello =D How nice to hear this feedback! Thank you so much! Yeah, that's nice, I hope you'll find it sooner or later, but if you now it's there.. It has time! ^^ After your question about the acryla gouache, I remembered, that I heard this in another video. Therefor I looked at my used brushes again and I can report you the following things. The brushes definitely feel used and stiff, but when they get wet again and are moved, you can use them again. I used brushes that are ok for gouache. But I am not sure, how they would interact now with aquarell (it could be possible that it doesn't feels the same as "new"). Yesterday I ordered some brush-cleaning-paste to see if there was any difference. I will keep you updated ^^

Does this sketchbook have any tooth to the pages or are the sheets very smooth? Sorry if you mention this already, but I had to watch it with the sound off at the time.
Oops, I just saw in the subtitles you said it was very smooth. Guess I'll skip this sketchbook, then. 😅

I lost all my art, all my furniture, all my music and mot of my clothes and jewellery while I was one year abroad and my friend was staying in my apartment and was suppose to pay the rent. They did not and never told me there was a problem. I got evicted and even my mum lived less than 1 km apart, she didn't bother to go pick anything up when they landlord called and told me the situation. Anyways, enjoyed your art very much, I still have gouache to learn, new sub 🥰
