    Great video! Saved me buying a new machine. The screen on my 8 yr old machine was completely blocked. Once I saw this video and spent 15 mins cleaning all the small parts the machine works like new!

    Thank you for the video. I let my Magic Deluxe from 2001 sit for 6 month in my garage after my wife redid the kitchen. I did not clean the brew group before storing it in haste. So when I pulled it out today and thought I cleaned the machine like at normal weekly cleaning, no second shot, when pushing for a double shot. It would slowly make the first, but the second it would labor, then sit, them refuse to brew and send the puck to the hopper! It was the combination of the tamper screen being really gummy/dirty and the spring/glass ball being stuck. I needed a video on how to remove the piston and your video did that!!!! I thought I was going to have to open the entire machine and clean the plastic supply water supple tube, but nope, it was the brew group!! WHEW!! Thank you for the information video on how to release the tabs. The tamping of the machine bring tears to wife's eyes!! Fresh brewed coffee again and no more Keurig!! Thank you again!!

    Quick question. I replaced the o-ring on the piston but this one looks a little too small. That's probably what's causing the water to leak into where the ground coffee pucks go, right? I've been having this issue and I only assume that it's the replacement o-ring being too small. I didn't order the gasket myself, it was included when I got it second hand. I also noticed that the bowl area at the top is full of water when I take it out after it leaks. It seems as though the coffee backs up and overflows from where the little hole is (where your spring and ball go) back into the bowl. Mine is the older one without a spring and ball.

    I’m having hopper issues on a Saeco Moltio. Do you have any videos on that? It’s telling me the hopper isn’t in properly and it is in correctly. Help!

    Hello, we have a Saeco coffee machine in the office, very similar, and we have a problem when trying to make coffee. It doesn't come out through the usual outlets; instead, it flows into the internal reservoir on the right. We checked and found that the O-ring is dry, cracked, and practically non-existent. Could this be the reason for the leak? Thank you.

    you should have seen the hidden part of my grid (never cleaned after many years) : it was completely black filled with coffee oil. After cleaning, when i pour a coffee, it is much smoother. Like when my machine was new. I forgot that it was so nice. Thank you really for that

    Thanks. Guys, that was awesome. I am plague with a new old magic that I bought today and I cleaned everything, but the coffee is so weak. Is there a way to recall rate the grinder setting as I think the coffee is t fine enough, even on max setting 7 I think it is. Any tips welcome.

    My brew unit is stuck. The used grounds discharge door is stuck open as well. Is this what's preventing me from pulling the brew unit out? If so.... does this mean I need to take everything apart to get the brew unit put in order to grease everything up?

  • @marchervais1269
    @marchervais1269 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a question for which you might have an answer : I think that too much water is going inside the brewed coffe recipient. I don't know what i can do to improve that. I already cleaned and lubricate the brewer, cleaned the grid, changed and lubricated the orange joint of the brewer, and i also changed the 2 orange joints of the pipe connecting to the brewer when the coffee is pouring.
    Maybe you have an idea of what's missing. Thanks

    Can you take apart the whole unit for cleaning? If you can....have you got a tutorial on taking it apart completely to replace parts that have been broken? The units are soo expensive to buy and I want to overhaul my old one. Thanks 👍🏼🙂

    I accidently managed to remove what I think is the ejector arm (plastic square with 1 side open and a wire spring) via the opening on the right side of the brew unit and don't know how to put it back in. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.

    My Saeco Minuto doesn’t stop filling the cup when using the Lungo setting. I have to push the button to make it stop. Works fine on espresso though. Any ideas? Probably a circuit board of some kind is my guess.

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there,
      Unfortunately if Saeco doesn't have the parts you need it's pretty tough to track them down. Some users have luck on sites like ebay or on forums dedicated to older machines.

  • @MrPeterbotter

    Thanks for the detailed instruction video! My machine would not give any water/coffee anymore, so I decided to clean the brew unit. As the inox screen was clogged with a lot of coffee residue, I decided to clean it with a dishwasher tablet. I also put the glass ball in without thinking. Now the ball isn't clear anymore but more opaque-like and a little rough. When I reassembled the unit as demonstrated, the problems persisted. Then I removed the ball from the brew unit, and the machine ran smoothly again. However, there was no crema to be found on the dispensed coffee. Could this be because of the glass ball not being smooth anymore? Thanks a lot!

    hi. my saeco professional royal does not dispense water properly. Steam works, hot waters works but it does not work dispensing the coffee. There, no water comes. Its making a funny noise and then stops. Its also says half way in the process to ventilate. The swimmer in the water dispenser is lagging too and needs manual help as the word '"fill water" comes up but container is full. Many thanks for any advice.

    After removing a Stuck Brew compartment & throughly cleaning it, & re-positioning the compartment to neutral position, the gear on the inside the Saeco Villa machine will not turn into the neutral position. I can no longer fit my brew unit back into the slot. Is there anything else that I can do????? I did the whole nine yards by placing the index card into the slot to engage the micro switch to switch on. The gear turns a little like it would normally but, the gear in the machine is still in the wrong position. Any further assistance appreciated.

    Hello! I have a similar problem as the person below with my Saeco Giro Odea Plus: coffee grinding fine but not coming out of the funnel, soggy puck puddles and weak coffee. This all of a sudden.From one brew to the next on the following day, it went from nice dry pucks to mud. Another video suggested pressing down on the grinder apparatus and see if I can feel the funnel move. Mine did, so appears that it's not broken. I can feel the grinds piled up at the opening flap; they're just not moving into the brew group. Sounds like it's working as usual otherwise. Might this be a crudded up brew group issue? Any other suggestions would be awesome!

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our first recommendation would be to remove the whole brew group and give it a thorough cleaning, after which you should re-lubricate the o-ring with a food safe lubricant (or coconut oil if you are in a pinch). Hope that helps!

    • @tinawainscott2089
      @tinawainscott2089 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have thoroughly cleaned and dried the group, but I haven't lubricated the o-ring, so I will try that. Thanks for responding!

    • @tinawainscott2089
      @tinawainscott2089 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That may have done the trick! I was able to make 4 pulls without it being water (though pucks are still soggy). Having done research on coffee machines, I realize that some models keep one grind's worth of coffee in the chute, which may be what I can feel. (and negating the concept of "fresh ground"beans!) Thank you again SO MUCH!

    My Saeco Odea Plus does not make puck in the output bucket, it is only by mud....WHY???

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The consistency of the puck is related to the machine settings and beverage type. A lower pressure drink like an americano/coffee, a coarse grind setting, lighter aroma, or higher coffee volume can all result in a more watery puck. Hope this helps!
