I like how they always compare to Ford, Volkswagen, and Audi. Nobody who has experienced the dependability of Honda is going to buy one of them 😅 What you should be comparing it to is Toyota, Mazda, Kia...
These are very good cars. They are well built, reliable and fun to drive. Far better than German rivals. I would wait for the 11th gen model as it is the better car. Good review thanks.
The new one hasn't been on sale in my country for almost a year because of supply chain issues. And when it does go back on sale, it could take over a year to actually take delivery of one. The XIth gen is a hit, but because Honda can't make them fast enough, they're going to lose a lot of potential sales on it. Seems like it was a mistake for them to close the Swindon factory. F*cking Brexit 🙄
@@davidkirkby71Just get the 1.5, which has a chain. The 1.0 is underpowered for such a heavy car anyway, and tiny turbocharged engines have the lifespan of a house fly.
Very detailed review of the Civic, had a 2017 1.0 CVT SR for 3 yrs and it never had any faults, sold it as fancied a change for a Volvo V40, nicer quality but would by another Civic in a heart beat.
I swapped the other way. Miss the sears and the stereo of the v40...but prefer the pace, handling and, oddly economy when not ripping along. Economy mode, when you know how to drive it... Still gives decent pace if done right.
The central cup holder is stacked upon each other. It holds 2 cups. How reviewers claim that value is better on rivals when they don't offer as much equipment as standard boggles my mind. The Civic is better than Golf and Focus as it is the most reliable, most practical, very efficient and drives superbly. You must be nuts to take a Ford over a Honda and don't get me started on the VAG group cars which are unreliable. Golf's are boring and common as muck.
I have to agree with your points. I have lived the Ford life & still like them but they are not a Honda. VAG stuff again have lived Golf life, liked it at first but then had a number of problems (corrosion on the gearbox casing so leaking oil from it at 2year 10 months old!) dealership customer service shocking, no courtesy car so without a car for 4 days. Never buy VAG crap ever again!
A very comprehensive review. The usual suspects look like shoeboxes on wheels. Test drove 2019 civic 1.6 diesel EX trim, stunning vehicle, which I know will be utterly reliable more so than any other competitor. Quality above par. Downsides interior lights too dull, get LEDs; tyres compound too hard therefore noisy. Yokahama AE51 much better. Service intervals around 6k. Drives superb, manual gearbox a joy just superb. Overall wonderful car loaded with all the tech you need. Infotainment below par but will be using android auto so will it really bother you. Rear camera just about adequate.
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply It was fine right up until I learned of the cost of the 6 th service - it's a great car but is being part exed for the Gen 11 - deliver first week of October
i have this car (fk7) and it handles very good, i take it to the canyons day or night, it’s my daily and i take it to meets. love the turbo noises that u can hear sometimes, love the way it drives, people always give me compliments when they get in my car. One thing i would say is that there is some body roll when taking turns or changing lanes quickly, but can be reduced by a front strut bar. Drives very good tho, not fast but fairly quick and will put a smile on ur faces not too much on straights but forsure on curvy windy roads. Hope this helps
The road noise is awful on mine and front seats very uncomfortable after an hour. It drives great and handles well but the negatives in comfort and rear passenger head space have posed enough of an issue for me to sadly move on. Great fun to drive but not a great family car there are alot better more practical cars on the market. It feels ever so slightly midlife crisis machine.
Do you drive a 10th gen Honda Civic? Let us know!👇
Yes 2019 SE
Yes and I love it
Brilliant car but the 2k cambelt change is ridiculous
How mutch the Tax roads for civic 2017 plz?
2018 1.5 Turbo CVT love it ❤
I like how they always compare to Ford, Volkswagen, and Audi.

True words - 😂
Kia?!

We loved our time with it! Thanks for watching as always Mr Bond 👍
I prefer this model to the new one beware of the costly Cambelt change though as much as £2000 on the 1.0.

That's great to hear, thanks for sharing your ownership experience Raymond! Are you interested in getting the new Civic?
I was in the same boot. But volvo v40 was much pricier than civic. I bought a civic 2018 1.0 and its amazing.
I swapped the other way.

Quality review! Nice car just need interior and buttons to look and feel a lot more premium its not hard!

Thanks for watching 👍 Appreciate your honest perspective!
Better be quick if you want a civic at this price. New model is hybrid only, starting at £30k. Honda obviously dont know the UK is in recession.
Are you interested in getting the new Civic?
Technically this Honda has a rear WING, not a "spoiler". I don't think a family would know the difference, but you should.
Mazda 3 every time
This guy is hilarious, he is basically reviewing the current gen Civic Hybrid, while he is driving the older one that he supposed to review🤣🤣🤣🤣
No he's not , he's talking about and driving the Facelift mk10 ,not the new mk11
Don't forget the rather large bill on year 6 on the one litre engine which will cost you about 1600 quid for the belt change
Thanks for sharing Keith, how was your Civic ownership experience?
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply It was fine right up until I learned of the cost of the 6 th service - it's a great car but is being part exed for the Gen 11 - deliver first week of October
I drive a 17. Only issue is that timing belt needed to be replaced at 80,000km
It's an expensive change though isn't it?
I like my civic Sport plus 1.5 but as stated in the video the road noise is terrible. Other than that it's great.
Thanks for sharing your ownership experience! Would you consider getting the new Civic?
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply I will be looking into it for sure but I want a SUV car now. Maybe the upcoming ZR V next year.
It is the standard Michelins that make the noise. I put Yokohama Advan Fleva on mine and it was transformed.
Yes indeed, though its possible to install after market sound deedenign to make it much more quiet. I did that, its a lot of work but totally worth it
What did you do to reduce the noise?😊@@maciejb2468
Is this the latest Honda Civic? I thought the new version had the Honeycomb grill effect on the dashboard?
Hi Mark, this is the latest version of the 10th generation Civic.
£2000 cambelt change with no warranty put me off keeping my 1.0 vtech
So how does it drive? You talk about Hybrid but I want to know about normal “real car” this Civic - drives good or???

Same here… Which one did you go for ?
I just ordered 1.5 turbo 180 hp can't wait to get it
Exciting to hear! Curious to hear your thoughts once you get it 👍
nice car but not sure about the trainers
U missed out the 1.5t engine spell disaster in a long run
The Oil dilution was addressed from 19' onwards, especially in the facelift models.
Really helpful and well detailed.
