- There it is ! After almost 12 hours of editing, the theme of Gaunter O'Dimm from Hearts Of Stone is mixed with the whistles of the end of the DLC and the song of the children, by the roadside.

It was sad to see what happened to Olgierd. It’s ironic in my opinion, that he could’ve wished for anything... Anything in world. But when the end came for him... He went to his grave with nothing, not even with his heart and soul. During that night something died in me as well... When I found out gwent cards weren’t a reward option.
That had to be say, and it's beautifully said by the way. Olgierd, you lost your wife, your life, your soul... We just hope that, if you, player, made the choice to help him and had succeed to defeat O'Dimm, he will make himself able to have a better life, and make better choices...
I saved him, it felt like the right thing to do.
I died when you can use Gaunter to summon darkness but can’t use darkness to summon Gaunter
@@5H4D3 I felt like letting him die was the right thing to do. He made a pact with O'Dimm. He must pay his dues. O'dimm has only ever been fair and honest with Geralt. Geralt wanted to escape from the ship, Gaunter made it happen. Geralt wanted to find Yennefer, Gaunter made it happen. And when you complete your end of the deal Gaunter removes the brand and sends you on your way.
@@MidasMakeItRain if you banish him by defeating him, olgierd lives and gets his heart back and the brand is removed from geralt.
Gaunter O'dimm is the most interesting character In the Witcher series...

He's my favorite villain of any universe. He makes you love him, adore him, he entertains you and still makes you shit your pants at the mere mention of him.

gaunter o dimm is obviously not human or beast. He can kill people from their brains, letting them explode. He can torture people without physically touching them. He can even stop time. He even uses invisible force (idk if its magical, but the blind old man that fell and broke his neck wasnt surely a coincidence). When geralt asked what o'dimm was, he quoted:"you dont want to know it. The people that knew what i was, are already killed by it".
So, if you think of it logically, the name is so powerfull that it kills the brain? Thats the reason nobody knows what it is exactly and those who knew are dead anyway.
O'dimm is called 'the evil' in the game but if someome knew the real name of the devil, his brains would just melt because its too much knowledge to bear or too powerfull.
This can be the only explanation of nobody knowing its name of its kind. Also did nobody noticed it the game that he is a very charming and satisfying guy? He knows everything and everyone and always speaks the truth to his victims.
They could make an entire game with master mirror being the antagonist .. hope he appears as either Easter egg or even character in future games by cdpr

CommonExplosion you hear his theme if you pay attention after you help break the curse on the spotted wight, thats a hint he casted the curse that and the breaking of the spoon to cast a curse.

You can find notes there, spoons, the music, the curse.. And so on. So many clues at the wights house.
It 100% was O'Dimm, just that it memtions his name nowhere, since the people who made the notes didn't know his sinister name.
He is everywhere you go in Hearts of Stone, in the backround of several cutscenes. Just imagine if he also pops up in the backround of Cyberpunk a couple of times..
Hands down the best Witcher 3 villain. Definitely one of the best game villains in recent memory.
Fully agree, he is mysterious and powerful and shows qualities of Satan but better. A man that can easily be taken as a joke who at the same time scary as shit.
Why do you see gaunther as a villian? He just came for the agreement and that was olgierd his soul. The real villian is olgierd, he lied to you, slaughered innocent people etc.
Because he tricks people into doing these things with the intention of dragging them to hell XD
Also he kills quite a few completely innocent people.
No stretch of the phrase "good guy" is wide enough to make him fit into it^^

Holy shit this game is so fucking good. The Blood & Wine DLC was great and the vanilla game superb but Hearts of Stone is perfection. Even if the entire game was just Hearts of Stone it would be without its like.

The riddle Gaunter O'Dimm gave you is absolute genius, because it actually has 2 solutions. Master Mirror wants you to think the solution is "Mirror", while the REAL solution is "Reflection".

It actually makes you think, I believe Gaunter’s riddle was symbolic for what they are, Gaunter grants wishes that always turn out bad on the wisher as some form of negative effect takes place as apart of the irony of the wish, I think Gaunter O’Dimm is the reflection of human selfishness and greed, he grants the wishes of unsavory individuals, it is only because of their poor choice that causes their wish to back fire
@@bobnotross4518 I've always felt Gaunter doesn't go after peasants because it'd be boring and too easy, they'd all ask for similar things. Gaunter goes after those who have almost everything, or those have everything but lost it.

I always save olgeird o'dimm gave him a heart of stone which meant he no longer cared for anything in his life so all of his actions were justifable by that in itself but even then he still tried to break the pact and care for his wife even with the heart of stone.

i never saved him, it was all his fault and even before the Pact he was kind of an ahole... and even if you help him you dont kill GO'D, you just banish him for some time, so i thought:"whod Garry rather piss off? some fallen noble, or a demon that will eventually return for vengence"

The hearth of stone is based on polish myth about mr. Twardowski that made deal with the devil, and didnt want to pay. And O dims song is so much better in polish wersion!

Nicely done, this is quite chilling. I swear shivers ran down my spine when I was playing the DLC and, at the end, Gaunter O'Dimm walks away whistling his own theme tune. What a terrifying masterpiece of a villain, a true expy of the devil. I'm more terrified of Gaunter O'Dimm, an average-looking middle-aged man, than I am of Eredin, a ghostly skeletal figure that leads the Wild Hunt. I think that says a lot about the quality of writing that went into his character.
I totally agree. There's something uncanny and disturbing about him.

Just as a witcher is paid his due for killing a monster, O'Dimm must be paid his due for granting wishes.
I chose to help him cuz I felt he deserved a second chance

This remains my favorite mix of this song.
When screenwriters worked on creation of Gaunter O' Dim - they used polish folk tale about Pan Twardowski , and Steven King books (Needful Things, Dark Tower).

The most mystical character who binds u to the story. A whole big series can be made .. mayb a 4th part as him v/s Geralt. Hmm jst a thought.

If they do ever introduce him again, i hope its just done though cameo, or if it has to be larger then they need to maintain the unknowing- thats why hes scary, dont let that go by explaining his past or purpose.
I'd love it if he appears in Cyberpunk 2077 under the same name as a minor character or even just lurking in the background. Either way it would he a great cameo.

I dunno why but i clocked straight away you can only get this bastard through reflection in the water, like it's something that can reflect but can't brake.
The fact that O'dimm could have defeated the Wild-Hunt and stopped the white frost with a clap.
I think gaunter o'dimm likes Gerald. And gets Amusement out of him. Even letting him win by break his mirrors in the end.

Gaunter O Dimm no question. Can fly, stop time and grant wishes. Unseen elder wouldn’t stand a chance. However, these are the two characters featured that are more powerful than the Witcher clearly.

It's interesting how his etymology is closely associated with the Devil, glass and mirrors. Which leads me to believe that the true meaning of his name is in reverse: DoG- Devil of Glass.
I quite like his link with mirrors and the symbolism of such an object. Although many point out that his name simply refers to "GOD", your version is interesting !

I saved Olgeird but I lost Gaunter O' Dimm's wishes. But I guess there are Pros and Cons I got Olgeird's saber which is far greater than any Steel Swords in the game. Did I do it wrong or...should I let Olgeird die?

That's the armor of the Order Of The Flaming Rose, a Magic Set exclusive to the Extension Heart of Stone. If you want to have it in game, I advise you to watch some sort of tutorial, 'cause find it is pretty tough ^^

Reythom64 O'Dimm was an amazing character I have not seen better in so long! I could however imagine him having a diabolical laugh right after his whistling ends with the hearts of stone logo fades with his laugh echoing in the background, that would have been great.
