@@devilhunter3469If you threaten his lackeys who’re about to execute that guy, Olgierd steps out of the mansion and challenges Geralt of Syria to a fight. 🔥
@@devilhunter3469 Wild that one of the best fights with the best songs (and a reference to a rather famous Polish movie) can be accidentally skipped, eh? :P
This whole scene.....with the burning manor as the backdrop, a menacing yet smooth-talking Olgierd gently invites you to a duel, and fiercely the two fight, honorably. Winning the fight only reveals an even darker truth about the charming nobleman. What a game. What an expansion. I was wholly devoured by its story.
After Wild Hunt, I was a bit jaded and sort of received closure on Geralt's story already, so I wasn't too excited to go back in and play Hearts of Stone. But my god did it raise the bar even higher.
bad ending?
Nah, just the feeling of a long, epic saga coming to a stylish end. I felt complete after the ending. It was the good ending btw. Personally I wouldve liked a bittersweet ending to suit the Witcher theme better, but I guess i was too nice to Ciri lol
There is an ending where Ciri becomes empress of Nilfgaard. That's kind of bittersweet. Since she has to leave Geralt. I believe you get it by bringing Ciri to Emyr and then ensuring Nilfgaard loses the war.
You actually get the Empress Ending so long as Nilfgaard wins; I think if you bring Ciri to Emhyr and NIlfgaard loses, you get the Witcheress Ending, because there's no NIlfgaard anymore for Ciri to even become the empress of.
The next time you fight Olgierd, use whirlwind to attack. He’ll almost definitely block it, but the animation of their swords clashing looks absolutely badass
You did that too eh?
Should I go to sleep?
You’re looking pretty tired after using whirlwind during that fight. You should definitely go to sleep.
Whirlwind, how to beat the game with no skill nor effort. No offense or anything, but it's cheap as hell

Olgierd looks like a nobleman straight from the times of Polish-Lithuanian Sarmatism. He uses a sword very similar to the distinctive polish szabla of the same period. His haircut is called czupryna or a kind of oseledec - also a very distinctive mark of the times of golden liberty in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. While his robe is not exactly a kontusz, it at least resembles one and uses a kind of pas kontuszowy. The oriental patterns are also something that could be found in the same period. Someone was really inspired creating this character.

Yeah Wild Hunt was surprisingly easy. I suppose they don't want to make it too hard for the players to beat the game.
Bear in mind, he was not at his full strenght, Vesemir did wound him below left arm afterall.
True, but that is no excuse for the final boss being easy. I only managed to make him difficult on death march and in new game + by waiting an entire month. I then came back to it and threw myself back into the Witcher. My sword arm was quite rusty after exploring the commonwealth in fallout 4. Imlerith would have been a better final fight IMO (his fight, not his character)
This boss fight... the Othieri mage was hard, but it could be approached like a golem that spams environmental attacks.
But this boss fight makes you parry. No matter what combat style you use, you will parry in some way.
Even if it is with a Sign, you will learn to fight an enemy that has mastered his fighting style and overcome his defenses.
Which is incredible. I fought the overleveled beast in the sea north of Skellige 15 levels or more below it, but this guy...
+ArkiosRokuyon This is the fight that makes you time you parry perfectly or die ;) Loved it and the whole feel around the encounter with music playing, fire burning, rain and Olgierds comments.
Mateusz Koziński I wish there would've been something similar to this at the end, too.
Sadly the mansion is basically the final boss fight. The race against time was nice, but because you can't possibly explore it in one go, it loses a lot.
I don't know... The boss was sure hard and amazing, but even on Death March you can defeat him without parrying. Just balance your uses of fast attacks, side dodges and quen signs)
Vladislav Saprykin Using the noob parry is still a parry.
+ArkiosRokuyon And what is a noob parry exactly?
Possibly the most memorable moment in the game.
People lose the fear and awe they have for the unnatural as they grow up and get desensitized by all the media consume. The Witcher is one of the few stories that let's me recapture that feeling: and this moment is probably the best example.

+gronndar Meh, the 1st boss was too annoying in my opinion, shitload of hp and bullshit attacks that were faster than Geralts dodge animation, and a lot of jumping around making his HP bar drop even slower. All of the later bosses are damn sweet though.
DAGET1234 Frog Prince? You had problems with that? Fire bombs and igni do the trick.
+gronndar Yes, still pretty damn annoying boss fight - fought it on NG+ Death March with Cat school armor and Attack Power themed skills and it took way to long to kill it even with abusing Fire bomb and SuperB philter with igni.

I went into a good guy playthrough and missed it. Didn't know it even exist until my second one.

This sword fight was epic no cap. The burning house as the backdrop, the music, Olgierd being a fairly difficult/interesting opponent.....This game is art
Well spoken, fellow Witcher.
Yet it was pretty simple, its backdrop, music and the general tension made this fight so much more epic...like damn imagine if this music wasn't there....
There are certain moments in gaming that stick with you forever, the boss fight with The End in MGS3, piloting the AC-130 in COD4, discovering the identity of Revan in KOTOR. Moments where you feel like you've hit the apex of a great game and you're personally experiencing the best gaming has to offer.
Fighting Olgierd is one of those moments, realising there's more to him than first assumed when he starts teleporting, then he blocks the spin attack like it was nothing, it clicks in your mind that this opponent is just as dangerous as you. Brilliant.
Sephiroth killing Aeris...will always be a tear jerker for me. I can't not hear her song and not cry

Too bad Leo Bonhart is dead. He never actually met Geralt, but it would be such an epic fight.
The thing is, if Bonhart fight with Geralt during the saga time, Geralt will die. Leo's been killing witcher's before, and he killed a person that we know that was almost on Geralt's level of swordsmanship. Without breaking a sweat. But in game time... man. It would be hella interesting.
I dont think so, but im sure the fight wuld be epic. What person was on Geralts level of swordsmanship ? I dont rememer anyone. Cahir ? Nah...
Cahir did beat the shit out of Geralt but it was not that kind of fight. Actually when fightin Cahir, Leo said that he definately was not at witchers level, so he had no chance, while fighting with Ciri, he not only understood she was tought by witchers, but even that she was from the wolf school. I think in the book they was pretty even Leo and Geralt.
I didn't read the books, but i read a bit about cahir on the wiki. Could you please elaborate how cahir defeated geralt and why it wasn't that kind of a fight.
Sure, during the quest to find Ciri, Geralt did not want to take Cahir with them, because he did not trust him even despite Cahir was connected to Ciri like Geralt (they shared same dreams of her). One day the went into a trap and Geralt openly blamed Cahir and called him a traitor. Pissed off, Cahir kicked Geralt several times until he was on the ground. They was kinda buddies after that.

I'm so fucking pissed I missed out on this fight... decided to watch it on TH-cam, the moment when Olgierd's head got cut off and he was still alive and talking I was like bruh
Idk, I didn't really know what was going on (why they were beheading the guy) cause I wasn't really paying attention so I was like "whatever, do what you want with him I just want to know why you wanna kill him"
Well, choosing rude replies isn't always the best thing to do either. Specially after what happened in 'Carnal sins', I decided to go 'Talk first, then fight' approach in every case if possible and missed the action. Got it on my 2nd playthrough though. :P
You can miss they fight if you were nice BOTH the 1st time you meet Olgierd and the time when he was about to cut that dude's head. I guess 1st impression does matter lol
Did the same thing, now on NG+ DM I will fight him for sure.
So will I. :D
Love this game and ALL the music.. Wild Hunt, Hearts & Blood. Unbelievably BEAUTIFUL masterpiece ..Witcher. 🙏🏽👍🏽
One of the best fight/scene and music in the game and people can completely miss it with the wrong choice... Amazing .
"Waść machasz jak cepem"
Man this expasion was good ! From start too very end
It was made by CDRP how can it not be good?
Tbh, i had a blast with the main story. Then i got the heart of stone dlc. I wasn't expecting a good story like the main story. But damn i was wrong, probobly one of the best story i ever played on a game. And then they topped it up with Blood and wine. Such an amazing video game. These kinds are hard to come by.
With all due respect to CDPR, this strory was basically a mix of Polish story "Pan Twardowski" and a fight between Kmicic and Pan Wołodyjowski. Check both out if you will.
@@aurourus6894 greetings from 2020
I do NOT care what anyone says this is a BANGER
No one is saying it ain’t
One of the best fights in gaming history
This game is the best game i ever played and i played a lot of games
I usually handicapped myself during fights with humans in TW3, not using potions or signs, in order to make the fight tougher. This was probably the only fight in the whole damn game that required me to use every ounce of what was at my disposal. Quen up almost constantly, the decoction that allowed me to heal when casting signs, and every dose of Swallow, White Rafford's Decoction, and whichever potion increased vigor regen I had. And God, it felt damn good to let loose and not hold back.
Don't forget Ursine or Undvik armour not to get oneshot)
1:23 Parry Parry Parry
Lmao
"Parry, parry, parry, thrust, thrust, parry. Good!"
originally "Tere tere..." but your version is better :)
"add the peri peri peri peri peri peri peri"
+ OMG ikilledkenny come on, Olgierd isn't that hot XD
Honestly one of the best gaming themes I've heard in the past 2 decades
Indeed, man
I acutally prefer HoS over B&W and main quests. Hell it might be one of the best DLC I've ever played.
plus O Dimm is an actually terrifying antagonist.
Well struck, witcher!
so underrated!
God the moment his head comes off and you realize what he actually is was fucking awesome just another moment to add to the compendium of reasons I adore this game
The lyrics
"Szła dziewczyna w odzieży siermiężnej
Napotkał ją Swarożyc potężny"
Which means something along
"the girl walked in a coarse clothing
encountered by the mighty Swarożyc"
Theoretical explanation - "the girl that walked in a course clothing" is probably Olgierd's wife Iris. Swarożyc from Slavic mitology is a son of god of fire and smithing. Swarożyc is also a god of fire, but less valid then his father. He could be used as a metaphor for the burning manor that is in the backdrop of our fight against Olgierd and/or the conflagration that Olgierd caused when he tried to summon O'Dim in his and his wife's house (we see this in her memories)
Iris is mariam1973/1970♉♊ 23khadijah22oct1981's sister
This game is so awesome and incredible ... I won't delete it from my pc. Just a masterpiece
One of the most memorable moments of this game.
1:22 sweet PAGANISM! I love it! Way to twist fairy tails into great stories, god bless Poland.
Slavonic style.
And that's why i love poland.
That's percival for you ;)
Sweet TERETERTERTEREEE
I regretted my choices when I learnt that I had missed a whole new boss fight.
Imagine this scene with Ray Tracing and upgraded graphics from Witcher 3 Complete Edition for PS5/XB and PC!
cant wait
When will it be available?
@@jornomi186 they said 2021 no idea when exactly tho
It looks very good as it is
One of the most memorable (and surprising) fights in the history of gaming! And it doesn't even have to happen.
It just striked me that Olgierd was literally in similar situation as Baldur in GoW. He was cursed, couldn't feel a thing which lead him to madness. Both of them are immortal and can't be killed up until curse is lifted.
It's " Dziewczyna Swarożyca" ...

How to kill a immortal; or at least make sure he can't bother anyone else.
1. Disarm him, - LITTERALLY - cut off his arms.
2. Cripple him, - LITTERALLY - cut off his legs.
3. Take his head off.
4. put legs, arms and head parts in a bag, tie a dubble-knot, preferably with a very course rope.
5. throw the ties up bag into a barrel, and seal it.
6. tie the barrel up with heavy chains, and throw it into the deepest lake or sea.
7. watch the torso wriggle as it tries to kill you, now bury it.
Nice
Unless they can regrow their limbs lol
Narcissus If you stuff it in a box, underground he wouldn't have any space to do that, and thus Olgierd wasn't fully decapitated, cus his head didn't fall off
What if you can't cut off his limbs completely and they just wiggle around like they are on a string? His head didn't fall off after the fight)
The head was not cut off - cleanly -, the Geralt is using a - sword -, which is not a very adept weapon for cutting through the spine, an axe is better.
Most likely Olgierd's looks are based on the famous polish classical film actor Daniel Olbrychski, especially from the 1974 film "The Deluge".
Interestingly enough, I think the duel is a tribute to a similiar scene in that movie, which the hero played by Olbrychski also lost.
Other than that, Olgierd and his younger brother Vitold (for some reason translated to Vlodimir) are both lithuanian names, likewise their ancestor Kestatis' name. While the brothers' names are or were given to Poles, Kestatis (in it's original form) is only used by Lithuanians.
Ehhh David Beckham ?
And both in game and in movie duels are good.
Olgierd is polish name, not lithuanian en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olgierd_(name)
Witcher 3 should go to history and art books because how beatiful it is
I really, really like Olgierd. And for the record, wished his brother could have followed you around with witty lines about locations, monster fights, and even gave you options in certain dialogue to talk as him.
Edit: Also kinda makes me wish Witcher 3 had had companions you could ask to accompany you. Having Olgierd around all the time? Triss? Dettlaff?? Regis?
you asked triss and not yennefer, ok
@@Trathien- well he chose someone else as his/her romance option. Respect his opinion.
I would go on a quest with ma boy roach, Umar Bart and regis. The unstoppable boys.
Regis as a companion would just kill everything before you even get the chance to see stuff on your minimap while triss would just do 1 damage fireballs every 10 minutes
@@seanisgone5413 sorry but i dont respect people who think they can just change a character's personality and make them attractted to someone they clearly arent.

zawsze wiedziałem że ten fragment jest po polsku ale nie mogłem go rozszyfrować, dzięki ;-]
Everytime i hear this, it's like a tick in my brain that tells me to replay the game once again, for 999999th time.
Heart of stone is better than Main Story in Witcher 3 - Change my mind
We can't
I can't fault your logic.
And blood of mine is a totally different game, that shit is not an expansion, is a totally different fucking game.
