@@zaramintheequanimous actually, you can only reuse it as long as the clay isn't baked, after that stage pottery (or any kind of ceramics) cannot be reused, as baking changes the composition of the clay with is an irreversible reaction. Even if you ground the piece and soaked it in water it won't go back to being clay, in that sense pottery is non-renewable.

@heff hoff There have been industrial methods for ceramics for a long time. But this is an artisan, something that is still very valuable because of the amount of work and love that go into these pieces.
I like the bloopers because it shows that everything isn't perfect. There's trial and error but you learn from your mistakes and you make even better creations in the future.

Guys, it's actually much healthier to express rage through something harmless like this, rather than going on shooting sprees or beating on your woman or crap. If u can't distract yourself with other therapies it's much better to hit a pillow or in this case, your pottery
I just use the air dry clay at the dollar store and use my hands, it's not really expensive that way It won't look as good but at least you can make things

I find this really heartening, because it reinforces that everybody makes mistakes, even people with wads of experience. I love to see the bloopers, it is so easy to idealise people when you only see the curated, edited videos. I love your work and the format of your videos are so easy to watch. I often find myself saying « but gadsby makes it look so easy ». Thank you for sharing the reality of pottery as well, this was a nice reminder that all potters have bloopers 😄
This actually makes it feel alot nicer. Knowing the mistakes are there and seeing them make me feel better. Gives me my own feeling that mistakes just happen and I can get over it too

As a serious pottery collector, this is what I find so magical about every piece I’ve acquired ... it’s a miracle that any piece survives the process from throwing to forming to curing to firing to glazing to sealing ... so many things can go wrong.
Seriously, every one of these videos really helps. I’m still in the early stages of pottery where every creation is a little bit precious, but I’m trying to let that go and be more experimental. Thanks for these!

You know, I’ve been trying to create a plaster mold and I’ve had nothing but failures. I’ve had plaster blow outs, clay walls collapse, chunks of corner have either stuck together or broken off completely while moving, and even somehow completely blocking in one of the mold pieces and having to dig it out. So it’s not that I enjoy watching your failures because I’m a cynical person, but seeing failures come from even someone who’s as talented as you makes me feel a little better sw1and helps me not be so overly critical about myself. So thank you, and keep up the amazing work!

I'm an artist who dearly loves your videos. This type may be my favorite. It's quite satisfying to see your bloops which are mine, too. Well, mine are a bit more spectacular. My first year on the wheel everyone got spoon rests for Christmas.
