      @@zaramintheequanimous actually, you can only reuse it as long as the clay isn't baked, after that stage pottery (or any kind of ceramics) cannot be reused, as baking changes the composition of the clay with is an irreversible reaction. Even if you ground the piece and soaked it in water it won't go back to being clay, in that sense pottery is non-renewable.

      @@aakankshakesarwani3295 Thanks for the fact check, I did had a hunch about fired earthware can't be renewed, since we probably have shards of pottery in old history still existing in display.

    The vindictive punch into the bowls.... I feel that in my bones. Definitely threw some mis-cut printed goods across the print shop the other day. Less satisfying flump and more a sad confetti.

    I love to see the bloopers, it is so easy to idealise people when you only see the curated, edited videos. I love your work and the format of your videos are so easy to watch. I often find myself saying « but gadsby makes it look so easy ». Thank you for sharing the reality of pottery as well, this was a nice reminder that all potters have bloopers 😄

    As a serious pottery collector, this is what I find so magical about every piece I’ve acquired ... it’s a miracle that any piece survives the process from throwing to forming to curing to firing to glazing to sealing ... so many things can go wrong.

  • @Loucfr
    @Loucfr ปีที่แล้ว

    You know, I’ve been trying to create a plaster mold and I’ve had nothing but failures. I’ve had plaster blow outs, clay walls collapse, chunks of corner have either stuck together or broken off completely while moving, and even somehow completely blocking in one of the mold pieces and having to dig it out. So it’s not that I enjoy watching your failures because I’m a cynical person, but seeing failures come from even someone who’s as talented as you makes me feel a little better sw1and helps me not be so overly critical about myself. So thank you, and keep up the amazing work!
