It's so lovely to hear all these renowned filmmakers and singers speak about Rahman Sir and give insights of him as a person which we could have never gotten. I cannot describe in words what Rahman Sir means to me. He is much more than a great music director or singer for me, he is a part of who I am. These episodes are not less than treasure for me. As a Rahmaniac I feel that Shankar and his films are missing in this series and would love to hear his thoughts on Rahman as well. Just like Maniratnam and Rahman, Shankar and Rahman association has also given really good music. How can we forget 'Humse hai Muqabla' which introduced Hindi audiences to Prabhu Deva. it’s one of the treats in this series to watch Mr Boney Kapoor speaking immensely fascinated about Rahman’s talent. The first few minutes seemed like a drag as he’s describing about Mili and his daughter, but it soon picked up its glory once the talk veered towards his association with Rahman. It’s also nice to listen to Rajkumar Santoshi about his experience particularly on that Song where he says Everything (I feel it funny the way he said ) and then elaborate on his greatness! Definitely, Pukar is also another great album from ARR but not all the songs got their due. Regarding his added musical inputs even after song picturisations is one of another Rahman‘a traits that’s so unique to him and his composing style. However, I feel it’s very unfortunate in regard of losing Sridevi Mam in a tragic incident and her demise is a huge loss to the talent pool of our nation. Bony Kapoor surely reminds me of Sridevi ji and hope to listen to more of her memories in the coming episodes while they continue talking on their association with Mom and Rahman. It’s also very sad to hear that she couldn’t receive one National Award while she’s alive despite some of her landmark performances throughout her career down South and Bollywood also. Her association with Rahman too came during the last leg of her career, esp her very last film and that’s why that film is so special and memorable for all her fans and movie buffs. I also heard in an interview Rahman quoting Sridevi as one of his favourite actresses. I hope we could hear any such coverage being included again that will be a treat to both Sridevi and Rahman fans.

I think Sridevi is the only lady superstar who’s unanimously liked both in North and South sans any bias. The audiences owned her in both the belts and she commands such a huge fan following even within the industry irrespective of which language. Even today many actresses want to have a dream career like her and many heroes quote her as their favourite actress. No wonder she’s a huge sensation all over the nation and is equal or more to any hero in star power that she’s paired with. Throughout her career she had several arch rivals both down South and North. I guess Dimple Kapadia was her rival during her initial days in Bollywood while Jayaprada continued to be her rival even in Bollywood along with Rekha, Hema Malini. Even Divya Bharti was considered among her competitors at one time but later the honours went to her most famous arch rivalry with none other than Madhuri Dixit, in particular during the early 90s.
