It was not exact refusal. Roja was the first solo project of young Rahman who was relatively unknown at that time. Rahman wanted Kumar Sanu and Alka to come to Chennai for recording. It was not exact refusal. Roja was the first solo project of young Rahman who was relatively unknown at that time. Rahman wanted Kumar Sanu and Alka to come to Chennai for recording. At the time Sanu were Alka were the busiest playback singers(90s) working with top composers of bollywood in Mumbai. So, they left the offer.
