The G9 is one of my favorites as well. I grabbed it after his review I got it from Franks with his code. Mine is similar to the one pictured in this video same size though 👍
Another great Top 5 video from the 🐐. My guess is based on what I've heard you say in previous videos. Going with 85 synthetic. I know you have a couple hundred total. Merry Christmas brother!
Nice list Tobin! I do have to thank you for getting me to try out the Pure Bliss! Hahah! It's hard for me to imagine that there's even a better knot than that one and I've raved about it so much that I've got a number of people to try it. I don't faun over things much, so people notice when I do. Thank you for your friendship too. It is the little big things that help you through when times are tough and the last three years have that plus-hahaha! Have a great one brother!
I do love the Astreaus as well, great little brush. I really like Teton Shaves Badger Synth as well. If you haven't tried that one, you should. I'm going to guess you have 111 synths in your collection.
Yackity Smackity. I love it😅 78 Synthetic brushes is my guess. Great Top 5/Bottom 2 Tobin👍 You can't beat the deals at Franks Shaving plus your discount code makes it a steal! It's the Little Big Things🙂👊
@@samhillanbrand6291 😁 thank you sir! I still can't believe how generous is offer is! One day I hope to be able to offer more codes like it🙏 Have a great week my friend!
Hey Tobin. Thanks for your top 5 list. I have the Atomic Rocket... love it. I just got on sale the Amber Aerolite and the Green Ray. Love thw Green Ray. Jury is still out on the performance of the Amber Aerolite, but i love the look of it... gorgeous. Im guessing you have 93 synthetic shave brushes.
The Astraeus surprised me, I would like to see PAA release a brush with same fibers but 24 or 26mm knot, but I really like the handle on it. I’m definitely liking the ST-1 from Oumo, I have 3 and thinking about getting a handle from Bobby and setting an ST-1 knot in it. The latest I’ve tried from Frank’s is the G7. I just ordered a 50/50 from Frank’s over Black Friday weekend, set to be delivered tomorrow, I’m curious to find out how it performs. I wouldn’t have any of the brushes mentioned above without having learned about them from you, so Thanks for the great reviews!
With your Ducks I know you’re reaching for the green ray. lol. You’re killing me with the Bosox hat. Growing up in NJ I am a NYY fan. Living in MI I’m a UofM fan (forget this year). Back to brushes I like the Muhle knot.
Lol Babe probably was! The BoSox has had a ton of talent, as a kid in the 80s I was drawn to Boggs and Mattingley for many of the same reasons. The Ducks are rocking it in a few sports. We went to MKA last night and it was over in the first quarter. Everyone knew Air Force stand a chance from the beginning but it was one of the worst ass beatings I've ever seen of my life. 98 to 36 was the final we stayed until there was about 8 minutes left in the 4th. It's hard to leave a game early. But it got to the point that we were basically playing "keep away" . We try to go to as many women's games as possible, men too, but the prices are higher for men and in some ways the women are just more fun to watch. Merry Christmas Steve!
My guess is 131 synthetics. Very nice review. I feel a little ignorant asking this question but here goes. Does the shaving brush industry standards for what classifies as a G5 or G9 or whatever name or is the naming strictly up to the individual brush producers? Thanks and have a great rest of the weekend.
Hey Andy! So with regards to the G series from Franks. They are all named in order of release. These are brushes that Ming (Frank) creates with manufacturers such as BASF. The G1 was the first and the next will be G10. So yes, the vendor does apply the name to a fiber. For instance, many companies sell the G5C that AP Shave Co has just under different names like what Omega did. They took the G5C and called it the Omega Elite which is why I was disappointed with that brush from Omega. No dumb questions, just dumb answers 🥴😉🙏
I really appreciate the assistance on understanding. I simply did not know if there was an industry naming standard that would provide insight to the knot w.r.t. the “G”. Thanks.
Owning a Grizzly Bay 26mm White Mountain Badger which has a “low flow” from the density of the knot. It’s a fantastic brush, unfortunately it holds onto lather too well and “eats my lather”. I’m looking for My first synthetic shave brush to add to My collection with a much better “flow”, since I emulate a very similar shave routine as you do (scoop and bowl lather). Which brush would recommend? P.s. Love your Channel!
I bought the G9 after watching your review of it, the code works and rhe brush is lather machine!
Sweet! How have you been Chris?
100 total, and love my paa brush that you had recommended me. The FS brush is tempting me.
The G9 is one of my favorites as well. I grabbed it after his review I got it from Franks with his code. Mine is similar to the one pictured in this video same size though 👍

The Atreus brush is probably my favorite synthetic brush I have. Great video Tobin!

Hey Tobin, great video. Got some nice brushes in this one if I do say so myself.
Hey Lance! Thank you sir!
Tobin! Great to see you my friend!
It's great to be seen brother
I love my 28 mm G5C brush with the scratch and dent handle from AP Shave Co. Winner, winner turkey dinner.
Great list of brushes. I'm going to guess 90 synthetic knot brushes. Have a great weekend
The astreus is an awesome brush for a little brush. Handle and fibers are amazing. So good I just gifted it to my godson for xmas

You're on the money there, a review is coming up soon!
Hey Tobin great list. I want to say you have around 75 synthetic brushes.
Hoping you do top five, or Best Bores, and Badgers.🙏
Speaking of Synthetics do you like Simpson T3?

Go Ducks! With the BoSox I mostly just like the hat and Wade Boggs. 😃
@ Just having some fun. Your Ducks are rocking it. The best Red Sox was Babe Ruth lol. Tiant, Yaz, and Martinez weren’t too shabby though.

I think around 90. Let's go with 87b😊
22 synthetic brushes

Great videos and info. My new brush will be a fan 22-24mm knot, used mostly for face lathering...
Thanks! Which one did you grab?
@@Tobins_throwbacks I have not decided yet. I hear the G5C knot is one of the best but I am not sure on this subject of synthetic brushes.
@@Tobins_throwbacks Any recommendations for a fan brush which I will use for face lathering?
How about 80.
89 Synthetic Brushes
You have 48 synthetic brushes??
135 Synthetic brushes
86 synthetics
I’m going to say you have 78 synthetic brushes
Over 300 brushes?
Including Badger, boar etc. somewhere around that. But just synthetic is the question.
Have a good one Sam
I’m thinking 107
201 synthetics.
Hey Tobin, Put boars on your list for 2025!
You got it 🙏 Lord knows I have enough for a Top 5 😅🙂
You have 40 synthetic brushes ….??? 🎄🪒
