I'm happy to hear that this game is going to be open-world. That was my biggest pet-peeve about Mafia 2. It drove me crazy that when I was trying to get all of the collectibles, I had to go to certain levels in the game. It certainly seems like they're getting this game right so I hope they can release it sometime this millennium.

Why the fuck (wtf) is Mafia II not remastered to even add side stuff. As basic as it would be, I would still enjoy doing other things then hijacking or buying new clothes.. shit the guns I would buy do nothing, since I lose them every chapter. And none of the side characters that I am told to go to for jobs and money, ALWAYS denied me or didn't even have the door open.. Just finished this game. Visually this game is stunning sometimes. Specially in rainy nights. But If only it had Dynamic gang wars, business and territory takeovers... Looking back, the gameplay is very repetitive and... kinda hollow. It's a bittersweet game because the world is so beautiful but they could do so much better with the gameplay.
I love everything of it! I think the some of the lieutenants won't betray you even tho you prefer other lieutenants than him/her. They'll just probably get mad or sad but never betray you. After all, you have a similar cause.
I am so doing three playthroughs. First one, being given to Vito completely. Honestly, i'm hoping that as you play with the lieutenants more, the more 'backstory' is gonna be told/shown to you.. We might even get to know, what happened to Vito in those 17 years...(1951 - 1968) And possibly.. What happened to Joe? I swear, if the first song i hear on the radio in the game is 'Hey Joe'..

For the Red Dead Redemption part keep in mind that Louisiana was declared a state in 1812 and did have famous outlaws so it's very possible to be a location as the time frame matches up ☝🏼️
They specifically said in a post on their Facebook page that it will not be fully open world like Gta and that they made the game to be more linear and different. So idk how satisfied most of us will be if we are looking for that open world fun we enjoy like in Gta.
Idk I was kinda hoping for more of a Godfather 2 game, where you build your own Italian mob from the ground up. But I'll be getting this game either way. And with it being open world this time that might leave it more open to mods :D
Part of what made Mafia II so immersive was the lack of a fully open world. If they can do it right, then all the power to them. Looking at the little bit of the mini map that we can see, I worry that this will suffer from the same problem that the Assassin's Creed series and sometimes GTA suffers from and that is trying to fill the world with so much stuff that it becomes repetitive. I would rather have no side missions at all than 5-10 missions repeated dozens of times. We'll see. I have hope, but I worry nonetheless.
I'm hyped about this game , I want to buy this full game when it comes out and I like how they changed who the main character of the game is this time, and it's finally a good third person open world game

I am so doing three playthroughs. First one, being given to Vito completely. Honestly, i'm hoping that as you play with the lieutenants more, the more 'backstory' is gonna be told/shown to you.. We might even get to know, what happened to Vito in those 17 years...(1951 - 1968) And possibly.. What happened to Joe? I swear, if the first song i hear on the radio in the game is 'Hey Joe'..

+AirSquad Frankly the 3rd person driving camera doesn't look much different from DiRT Rally when played in 3rd person, and that game is pretty much simulator like. So I don't think you can judge it only from that.

I would give all 3 comrades of Lincoln Clay skills points to help my character have a balanced experience throughout the main missions and side missions to have the best shot at taking down the killer Italian Mobsters who murdered Clay's friends, I want to get this full game when it comes out later this year

+NateDogg474, as I stated in a comment previously, it's the same way with Demon Souls and Dark Souls. Dark Souls isn't Demon Souls and vice versa, they're successors in spirit alone. They may be similar but in no way are they related, hence why there's a Dark Souls 2 and 3 and not a Demon Souls 2.
Keyblade Master Riku well dark souls and demon souls are a completely different publisher. knowing rockstar and their previous games they will most likely go with the red dead theme and not go with redemption 2 since jack and john marstons story are over. but who really knows they might call it rdr 2 but it's highly unlikely.

Mafia 3 will not be released until October, and all we have seen of it are short random clips of it. Your making an unfair judgement on a game that you have literally no experience with. You don't know anything about the game other than the small bits of info that have been released, and yet you are already saying it won't be good. It could be the best Mafia game yet, and game of the year material for all you know. Leave the judging until after the game is released and you actually have something to judge.

For the Red Dead Redemption part keep in mind that Louisiana was declared a state in 1812 and did have famous outlaws so it's very possible to be a location as the time frame matches up ☝🏼️

There's definitely gonna be some crazy voodoo shit in this title.
They specifically said in a post on their Facebook page that it will not be fully open world like Gta and that they made the game to be more linear and different. So idk how satisfied most of us will be if we are looking for that open world fun we enjoy like in Gta.

Idk I was kinda hoping for more of a Godfather 2 game, where you build your own Italian mob from the ground up. But I'll be getting this game either way. And with it being open world this time that might leave it more open to mods :D
Part of what made Mafia II so immersive was the lack of a fully open world. If they can do it right, then all the power to them. Looking at the little bit of the mini map that we can see, I worry that this will suffer from the same problem that the Assassin's Creed series and sometimes GTA suffers from and that is trying to fill the world with so much stuff that it becomes repetitive. I would rather have no side missions at all than 5-10 missions repeated dozens of times. We'll see. I have hope, but I worry nonetheless.
