    I have a 2005 WK, and it only works if you start by having the ignition on and the error being displayed, then do off-on-off-on-off-on and wait...

    You arrnt going fast enough, and you need to go on off, on off, on off..quicker push the key into the ignition it smooths over ACC to ON easier vs clunking through. It likely had the recall done for ignition switch, and those they used were very tightly bound for no chance off accidental shut off

      Doesn’t matter how fast you go, doesn’t work on 2006

    Hello, I am still working on it But, I am guessing that JC LAREDO does not have that OBD-II (DTC) feature. And Only Limited or Overland does. I have both and only the Limited retrieval those codes. But I am trying to get more info.

    Im in Australia. Dont know if that makes any difference feature wise, but my 2006 Grand Cherokee Limited will not do it either. One observation: if "on" position displays the odometer, then "on" could indeed be the accessoroes position. None the less, I have tried everything, off to accessories, off to ignition, accessories to ignition, tried it slow, tried it fast, tried it in between, just wont go into code mode.

    I noticed in your video that the check engine light was on steady for about 15-seconds and that it flashed for about 10 seconds. This indicates that one or more of readiness monitors are not set. When all the monitors are ready the check engine light will not flash.
    Also, when you ran the engine, the check engine light was not on, indicating that there were no active codes.

    The code is flashed by the check engine light. Count the Times it comes on like three flash's equal-3 then a small pause and the light flashes two more times equals -2 which is the code 32.

    Hey guys, I figured out why it isn’t working. You can’t be on the compass screen, You need to hit the button on the top left of the front of your steering wheel until it says “System Warnings” then you press the down arrow (Right below the first Button) and it should say what’s wrong. Then what you want to do is Turn the key on and off 3X, ending in On (2 clicks from off) and it’ll work. I kept trying to do it while it was on the Compass and Temp Screen and it wouldn’t work, but once I did this and tried the key thing it worked. Please Sticky this comment OP

    It only works 2008 and up i believe

  • @mpouwelse

    Me supects it only works on Jeep prior to 2005 (up to 2004), and people have assumed it works on later models aswell, thus spreading false info. I am open to correction though.

    Do it a little bit longer. Bcuz I had it pop up n the DTC Is 0700.. What does that mean 0700 is the code

    • @ricardoalvarado5624
      @ricardoalvarado5624 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When the tranny control module detects a malfunction with the control, it send 0700 to the engine control module to set the service engine light. Essentially, 0700 means there is a malfunction with the transaxle control. Or something like that.
      ¯\_( ツ)_/¯

    On mine that information center thing does not turn on at all can somebody tell me why

    • @ricardoalvarado5624
      @ricardoalvarado5624 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow... I almost forgot about having posted this video and it took me a minute to come back and check the comments.
      Anyhow, I think you're referring to the Information Center below the radio and above the A/C-Heater, correct?
      Well I've gotta tell you that my experience has shown me that those lights (and the ones that light up the dials of the A/C-Heater,) are notorious for burning out. It's not impossible to fix it, but it does take a little bit of time and effort.
      There's a guy who put up a video that explains it really well and I hope it works out for you. It doesn't directly answer the issue you mentioned, but that Info Center is right there and you should be able to have access to those light bulbs in order to change them.

      Again, sorry for not realizing you asked for help/advice and you never got a response.

      Hey, I just figured it out. You can’t be on the compass, you need to hit the button on the top left front of your steering wheel until it says system troubles. Mine was for Washer Fluid Low, I left it on that screen, shut the Jeep off, and then did the Code 3X, and it worked after that. Good luck Guys
