+Chubbyemu I think I am the only one asking this question, but how to gain weight, I am so skinny I can count my ribs :/. And I am eating everything literrly everything, and I am always hungry. P.S Happy New Year :D
+Julius Caesar HAPPY NEW YEAR! assuming you're in the gym lifting weights, the shortest answer I can give you is to eat an amount of protein in grams equal to your bodyweight in pounds, at a minimum. So if you weigh 165 lbs, eat 165g protein each day. your 2 biggest meals should be breakfast and immediately after your workout, and those should be carb and protein heavy. do not miss those 2 meals. that should get you started. some people really have trouble putting on weight, in that case talk to Shelby Starnes. I know he's worked with those people before!
hey everyone! a lot of people tell me they want to copy EXACTLY what i did for this weight loss plan. don't do that. I explain why in this video th-cam.com/video/Tf-65kEOZM8/w-d-xo.html
It is not about calories, it is about macronutrients and micronutrients. IMPE, intermittent fasting is a great option for fat loss and improving overall health. Look up "autophagy" (very important). Also look into a ketogenic diet, that is what day 3 (low carb day) of Chubby's eating plan was based on.
The pictures in the video are from almost 10 years ago. Lots of changed since. I am working with Shelby again in 2017 for a new series. Check it out here :) th-cam.com/video/viEWYJo8g8I/w-d-xo.html
Chubbyemu how tall are you because it seems signficant to me to see the difference of the weight from the ratio of the height, many thanks for the reply :)
Chubbyemu, I'm assuming you and Shelby based your diet for High/Medium/Low carb days on your BMR. I am implementing a similar carb cycle diet for myself and had a few questions. I want to make sure I am basing my numbers off of the right patterns from your video. For example, at the beginning, your high carb days were ~2300+ calories. If you weighed 225lbs then your BMR was ~3150. Therefore, where you guys basing your High carb day off of a 700 calory deficit from your BMR? Does that kind of deficit not destroy your muscle mass as well? Thanks for the guidance man
Hey man you still live around rutgers? i live 5 min away and i used to powerlift as well im looking to get back into the gym scene but i need someone to hit the gym with @chubbyemu

@S T. I can only speak for my own case. My Mum was diagnosed T2 in her early 60's. Because of that, and my weight, etc., my doctor immediately ordered an Abh1c done on me, and had me tested every 6 months for the next 2-3 years. When we had one come in just a bit high, we knew I was potentially in trouble. My life style change began at once. My diet changed, and with the help of a dietitian, a bg monitor, and very supportive friends I began a more active life. And I took dried prickly pear cactus daily. The 2nd and 3rd tests were "marginal", and the 4th, one year and a 100+ kilo weight loss after the 1st abnormal, was normal. It crept back up after a few years of complacency, but well under control. BTW, had a nice visit with my new GP last week. Weighed in at 84kg. I am 177cm tall with a large (size 10 shoe) bone structure. For the first time in my life I was told by a medical professional *"You are not overweight"* And my abH1c is 6.1.
He forgot to translate "Hypoglycemia" as "hypo meaning low, glyce- meaning sugar, and emia meaning presence in blood. A low presence of sugar in blood" ☹️☹️😢
This sounds like a tough diet, I'm heavily overweight but since two months ago I've been on a low calorie diet (1500 calories) and since then I've lost over 50lb without exercise. I learnt about BMR and how my heavy body at my age burnt about 1lb in calories per day through just the regular body functions. So I took that into account and a week before I started my diet I went on a liquid fast, my personal favorite was beef broth during that time. Now the liquid fast wasn't some idea of id lose weight because of it, it was to shrink the size of my stomach so that I would feel full on smaller portions of food (id typically eat about twice the normal amount of food a person would eat). The smaller portions are part of an over all life style change, even after this diet I am not going to ever eat larger then about a normal portion ever again. With all that in mind I decided on 1500 calorie intake, based around being able to go over that limit by small margins (up to 50 calories). I've so far only cheated once netting me 2500 calories in a single day, however I didn't go over the portion size, it was chocolate. So far I've found it easy to stay within the calorie limit, I don't count my one a day vitamins since they aren't technically food as well as they typically fall within the margin I stated above. I've been heavy most of my life, my family loves food. I mean it literally when I say my family loves food, every person I know in my family (cousins, uncles, aunts basically anyone I share blood with) loves to eat food and to enjoy it. Though most of them live active lives, enough to help stave off the calorie intake, physical work including hunting. On the other side of my family, my dad's side, everyone other then my dad is overweight. The most helpful source of calorie counts, though not the healthiest otherwise, have been microwave meals and I've had help with writing the calories of items down in a book to refer to when not eating a pre prepped meal. It's been working so far, and once I'm down enough to exercise without risk to my joints I'll be taking walks and doing some exercise to keep the weight loss going.
Good job. One quick warning FWIW. Our bodies adjust to whatever we CONSISTENTLY do to it. So typically as I understand it, your metabolism should slow down to your restriction level which then makes it your basal metabolism and no longer a deficit. From time to time, consider throwing in some weeks where you eat at a comfortable level for a while to keep your metabolism high (like a month at deficit followed by two weeks of however you want to eat once the weight is gone, repeat). If your metabolism adjusts to your deficit and is below your planned maintenance nutrition, then as soon as you try to maintain you'll gain a bunch back until your metabolism adjusts UP to your maintenance diet. Hope that all makes sense. Keep in mind your full glycogen level + water weight, too. For me, I seem to have an approx 6-7lb water weight gain when I eat more carbs. Every gram of glycogen is bonded to 2-3 grams of water. I know to just ignore swings that small now. As soon as I restrict carbs it falls off within a few days.
@@JustinKoenigSilica its going okay, ive perminantly cut down my portion size and so far im about 80lb down, hoping to get down 100 more lb by the end of this year.
How I lost 10+ doing nothing....? STOP EATING PROCESSED SUGAR!! I stopped eating my daily morning donut. And my 1/2-1 can of soda during lunch. Lost 10 pounds. Starting swimming and cutting out additional carbs (whole wheat is fine, just cut down the amount per day) and lost additional 20 pounds within the month. (Yes, sounds like Keto, but no I was not on it. Just lowered my sugar and carb intake.) No serious training or counting calories. Amazing that you stuck to such a strict/rigid schedule!
I’ve bounced around A LOT in my life. Went from 316 to 181 in about 6 months just by starving myself. I started eating normally (I swear I wasn’t overreacting) and I rebounded to 268 over the course of about 6 years. Went down to 250 in about four weeks doing one meal a day. Then I started eating normally and rebounded to 296 in about 3 months. This is absolute torture.

Intermittent Fasting and eating Huel at work is how I lost 55 lbs in 1 yr. THanks for sharing this. I enjoyed the insight. I like seeing different people's fat loss stories and picking up little nuggets of knowledge about their methods. Your tips were also great. There are many different ways to lower insulin and therefore lose excess body fat. keto. carb cycling. IF. low glycemic index foods. exercise. Metformin. Whatever you gotta do. However it works best for you. One method is not necessarily better than others.
I've heard of metformin for weight loss in the past. Is it safe for a non-diabetic person? I'm sure you'd have to monitor your blood sugar. What doseage is safe? I noticed that they used diabetic meds as a medical weight loss clinic but assumed it was only for diabetics. I recently gained a lot of weight and diabetes run in my family. Yet my HgA1c is only 5.3, triglycerides 90, with excellent cholesterol.
I went from 200lbs to 170lbs in a month. Idk if that's too fast, but basically I just put myself back in the gym 5 days a week (after a long hiatus) and forced myself to get at least 7 hours of restful sleep each night. My diet was always at least decent or above average and so I didn't make any changes there. Girlfriend left me and so I figured I'd get back to doing what I loved with the extra time I ended up having.

I know he's worked with those people before!

hey man, if it's not too much to ask, how much muscle have you lost and what caloric deficit were you in? Have you at least considerd eca stacks?
also, big question... do you weigh your chicken breast fried or raw?
also, what's your state on intermitent fasting?
It is not about calories, it is about macronutrients and micronutrients. IMPE, intermittent fasting is a great option for fat loss and improving overall health. Look up "autophagy" (very important). Also look into a ketogenic diet, that is what day 3 (low carb day) of Chubby's eating plan was based on.

Alexander, it looks like you are off to a great start. I wish you much success in this endeavor.
Keep us posted. We care🙌
How's it going?
Swimming and running/walking in water are pretty good low-impact exercises even very heavy people can do!
As soon as I restrict carbs it falls off within a few days.
how's it going? have you made any permanent lifestyle choices to help you on your journey?
LOL WHAT
After watching your medical videos for a few months I find this and am totally caught off guard. You're like a different person.
Its bad to do restricted diet especially without exercise. Eat normally and exercise is the only way to make weightloss sustainable
