No one gonna talk about how he just rocked this game in 9 in-game days? IN ONLY 2 HOURS?! I think this was more of a speed run than a long play.
Well, the 9 Day Run is essentially a speedrun category, albeit a very old one and it is the only run where the use of glitches is not needed at all. It was the original record for speedrunning back when the game was young.
Now the game can be finished as early as Day 6, and to do it you have to clear all areas in a single day. The Impact Site is the only exception to this because of the Positron Generator.

Sames, but 2001 for me, I was 10 when this game came out.... Miss all the sleepovers I had at my friends place, and we would play this all night, this game, Smash Bros (Melee) & Luigi's Mansion. I was so young that I literally could not comprehend strategy or objectives in video games so I would just run around planting and picking people out of the ground. Same, I played pikmin 2 when I was a kid, and I played for 17 days.... ended up with pikmin extinction and for nearly 9 years I never played story mode again.... but I was able to play 2 player mode
I remember doing this with one of the Zelda games. I was so young that I didn't understand that games could have endings and you were supposed to try and finish them. I was literally just going around chopping the grass and collecting rupees and seeing if I could get anything special

Same, although I was shit when I played pikmin, I remember playing it like it was yesterday, I was 8 years old and my babysitter came to my house, she brought some old gamecube/Wii games and one of them was pikmin 2 (yes it's the sequel, but I never knew the franchise and it was the first time I ever played a pikmin game), we started to play with it for a little bit and even played 2 player mode. Nearly 8 years later, I find the first game at an old game store and play the OG for the first time, of course I got the bad ending for not having good strategy but I got the hang of it, a year later I find the sequel and actually finished it
Really effective run. Fun to watch.
Also enjoyed that you seem to care about the Pikmin; not leaving anyone behind, saving the drowning red one and so on.

This game was very tense. Like the Zelda Ocarina of Time, you have a limited time, and when you have only a few time left, you panicked! These games were good.

I think you meant Majora Mask. Ocarina of time have no time limit, you can freely travel of time between 7 years in younger Link and 7 years after in adult Link.

Hey, I'm doing a Pikmin playthrough as well currently, and I was wondering if you could help a guy out. Around 24:20 you do the swarming throw speed glitch, which I know the basics of but I'm complete garbage at actually executing. You got any tips?
Solid playthrough btw, you certainly know your way around the game, lol, my playthrough is nowhere near as experienced as yours.
Honestly, I don't really put much thought into it. I simply rotate the C-stick and mash the A button as fast as I can without a second thought. You just gotta practice the C-stick maneuvering by having the pikmin be as close to Olimar as possible and work on your button mashing skills. Of course, some people might just have naturally faster thumbs than others. However, there is the index finger method where you lay your controller on a table or your lap and twitch your index finger. I personally use my thumb but others might have a faster index finger. Enjoyed this game, I finished it years ago so got Pikmins 3 & not long finished that one, I do like in the new one that the ‘onions’ linked up as one. Can’t remember if the older ones had it but Pickmins 3, I love that you get the maps & hints when needed, saved time getting lost & wondering what to do next.

My cousin and i weren't aware of what parts olimar was talking about, so we would just gather as many as possible, thinking it was a percentage thing... they definitely made the wii version of this game harder. On that water stage, many of the big bugs has the little bugs surrounding them and awake, so it took time to clear them (if you want less pikmin deaths like I do).

Man all that work in nine days, and Captain Olimar returns home to have his ship Impounded almost as soon as he lands, for a fraction of what the debt is. this ship has so many expensive parts too. Crashing on Earth must have depreciated his vehicle BIG time.
I feel like the Positron Generator (day 4 Crash site) must be every speedrunner's nemesis.

Thanks! The game isn't necessarily as short as the video makes it seem. I'm just very experienced with the game which is why I can beat it quickly. For a first time player, the average playtime is around 8 hours.
