    Stunning music - worth the whole video all by itself! Guitar color scheme is my favorite colors. As to guitar quality and build I yield entirely to Shane as I am not knowledgeable or on his level, he is the master. Thumbs up on a great video 👍👍👍

    Awesome Demo/Review. Thankyou. My first Guitar is my 1985 Yamaha Acoustic made in Taiwan. Still amazing guitar after being 'well used'. Now approaching 40 years in my possession. Recently scored a Yamaha Pacifica, that is one of the most amazing Electric Guitars I have played. Love the Yamaha's and want a Revstar SO Bad. Dream ......

    I have one of these in the same color (lefty and all) in order and I am really looking forward to it. I wanted to get another guitar with stainless steel frets and I grew up playing Yamaha instruments in school and love their audio gear so I took the chance on this same model. Thanks for another great video!

    Thanks Shane, it's such a joy watching and listening to you play so effortlessly. I'm glad you did this review because I'm going to buy one of these and your not the only one that said they like the element better and it's more in my pay scale. You were the one that had this guitar on your best and worst for 2022 that brought up my curiosity and Yamaha was my Acoustic guitar. Peace 🕊️

    I have the same model with the same finish, and there's something that just bugs me about it. It's not the color, the pickups, the sound, or the playability. Of all things, it's the slider switch. I know, it's a weird nitpick to have, but after being a Les Paul player for years the slider just feels tacky and cheap. I'm thinking of taking it to a luthier to see if they can put a 3-way toggle in it for me.

      There is always a lack of variety in colours . I contacted Yamaha years ago after the first Revstar was launched. I ask then why no lefty electrics aside from the Pacifica? They said basically no demand, but if that changes they will explore it. Here we have it boys and girls. I don’t want to say don’t complain but we could still be at zero plus a Pacifica. Thanks Shane thanks Yamaha.

    Maybe I missed it, but which humbucking pickups are used in the guitar, and what are their specs? How does the mid boost work? Where does the battery go and how long does it last. Needed details in a true review. Thanks!

    • @Pete_Harris
      @Pete_Harris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no battery for the boost, there is a transformer that provides a boost from your guitar amp signal.

    Love it. But as a Leftie, as usual, 2 choices of colours and no P90 model for us. Oh, and one choice is our fav, Black! A tad negative, I know, I really like the sunset burst P90, but alas, we play "wrong", so suck it up ya weirdos. Have you ever done a vid on the woes of being a lefty guitarist. I know, "the economics don't stack up", but I call bullshit on that. Anyway, probs still get that Blue one.

    The Element sounds much better to me, assuming you were using similar amp settings. The Standard certainly looks cool but I can't see where those sounds would fit in. They might sell a few Elements in 12 string if they tried that ;-)

    Good review. I might have opted for the cheaper model had I seen this first. But I got my blue RSS20L about a fortnight ago. I love the Revstar design and I have waited years for a left handed model. The guitar plays well, feels premium and looks and sounds great. Overall I am very pleased with it.
    Gripes? The passive boost feels like a novelty. In my experience its pretty useless and adds little, while the push pull pot seems quite delicate. And the neck is bit more chunky than I like, stopping me from thumb fretting - small hands! :)

    • @Pete_Harris
      @Pete_Harris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't agree that the boost is a novelty, works and sounds great for huge Les Paulesque tones with a little eq tweaking.

    • @goport
      @goport 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @@Pete_Harris. To be totally fair to the guitar, I haven't run it through my amps yet just the Line 6 Helix, and it just sounds muddier and distorted. This is probably because I am more of a single coil guy too so I probably need to spent time dialling it in. I just wish Yamaha made a left handed P90 equipped Revstar :)
      Actually Yamaha did good on the pots (fragile or not) on the left handed models because they are true reverse taper. Most guitar manufacturers use standard taper pots on lefties and wire them left handed - this renders the usable pot sweep to be more like an on/off button ;). In fact my Gibson Les Paul has standard right handed wiring meaning the pots are all "backwards"
