This is how a video should be. Concise information of the complex new changes that is easy to understand. Kudos to both of you for doing this good work 🙌
This video is part Jen and Yvonne dissecting the intricacies of the EU Blue Card changes and part Jen ranting about her less than stellar experience with residence permit and Auslanderbehörde 😅
Both are valid and important for folks to know!
Well, my experience with the Ausländerbehörde wasn't bad. It just took a lot longer for me with a regular work permit to be able to get permanent residency 😉
Thank you! you guys make everything easier to be up to date.
I'm amazed at how you guys put this video together, real good work, appreciate all the information shared here!
Thanks a lot for your video!! As always, it was super helpful. 😍
You guys are amazing. Always love your videos. They are so simple and informative

Love your content and how you present it. I have been watching you videos for almost a year now, hopefully getting my blue card and moving in 1-2 months. Very grateful for this channel 🙏
Super happy to hear! We hope your move will go smoothly! 😊
Very helpful indeed - thanks a lot for this video. I thought sponsorship was mandatory by the company providing you a job offer! - It has expanded my possibilities now!! Thank you very much
Yesterday I received the PIN-Brief to get my freshly new Blue card 🎉🥳
It's just a one year contract, but I'm going to fight for at least a +1 year contract and apply for the Niederlassungserlaubnis 💪
Hugs&Kisses, I'm a big fan ❤
Amazing video! I had so many doubts in 2022 when I applied for a visa and this video answered all of them. In the end my position did not meet the salary threshold (at the time), but I qualified for the scientist visa (Visum zum Forschungsaufenthalt).
Great content Jen & Yvonne
Thank you guys!! ❤
very nice video, i have a blue card but still learnt a lot from this video
Brilliantly explained all the required information and the process, can not be more simpler than this. Great Work, Thank you! 👍👍👍
Great video🎉

@magramosrph5837 That's great, where are you learning in Ph? Are there local language scchools that teach German there?
All the best 👍🏻
Hola chicas me encantan sus videos, I am currently gathering the documentation for my visa and the ZAB certificate it took less than 24hrs, this was during the last week of March. Saludos desde Chile

Hello my degree is hospitality management which I obtain from Spain but in English .can I hotel job get me the blue card@@simplegermany
Love your videos ❤
YOU ARE THE BEST!
The validity is topped by the passport expiry date. Processing time IS quick, it took one day in some cases.
Can you Help me
I can attest to the IT law changes, I came to Germany with a work visa and got the 2 year visa. after the new laws I emailed the the city office to find out if I qualify for the Blue card. I was send a bunch of documents I had to fill in and sent them back. After about 3 weeks I got the Blue card green paper and an appointment to go and process for the card (bio metrics etc).
So I need
1. 106€
2. Latest Photos
3. Passport
This is after living here for two years.
Thanks for sharing! Amazing to hear 😊
Woul you help other to com in Germany
Hi sir pls am an engineer and my wife is a registered nurse and mid wife pls i want to come to Germany to work pls i need your direction how to apply for it and pls i need ur contact or email address to that i can contact you sir.
In Nuremberg Ausländerbehörde takes minimum 2 years to issue actual blue card till then you rely on Fiktionbeischunigung
Thank you sehr sehr
I came with the previous IT specialist visa, so missed the chance to get a blue card :(, oh well hope they reduce the time for permanent residency.....
I like this video!😊❤
Thank you very much for the video, can you please discuss the new changes in the law regarding the international university students here in Germany ( likehow many houirs are we allowed to work yearly ? and are we still supposed to get a job only in our major after graduation or we can work in a different field and still be able to change our residence status to a work residence permit instead of a student residence permit... thanks a lot for your valuable videos again :)
Can you kindly also make a video on Permanent Resident (PR) and its benefits.
Thanks❤
My Father in law is German, he loves cheese, beer, and he is kind too.
Thanks
Thank you the detailed overview! I was just thinking about “upgrading” my current skilled worker visa to the Blue Card but it seems like the portal is not ready for the situation when I’m already in Germany (there’s no Germany in the country dropdown list). Where should I apply in this case?
At your local Ausländerbehörde 😊
3:26 Coming to Germany or even moving within the country can be extremely difficult and challenging without Relocation Package from Employer. Based on first hand experience!
Ended up here because I got an English speaking job in Germany and have my blue card appointment next week. It’s not impossible. Great insight here!
Fantastic!! We wish you a smooth move 😊
Thank You for Great Work. Please could you create a video of what steps need to be done after losing a job, Combined with Blue Card holder status.
You either find a new job right away or need to sign up as unemployed with the Agentur für Arbeit. To our knowledge you have a few months to find a new job until your permit expires. But you should speak to your Ausländerbehörde. We also have a guide on unemployment benefits: www.simplegermany.com/unemployment-benefits-germany/
WOW! Everything just got more perfect. It's been 17 months since I came to Germany for work with an IT Specialist visa and tho I don't have a university degree, I can apply for the Blue Card and get my permanent residence in 10 months?! WOW!
Informative i just want to add one thing Can u please make a video on pharmacist immigration into Germany and degree recognition for pharmacist please its a request
I recently applied for a job change after working for 13 months on Blue Card. The Ausländerbehörde didn't know about the rule changes (2years to 1 year) and I had to send them screenshots of the rule. But once clarified and after I submitted the documents, they printed my new Zusatzblatt the very next day.
Hi!! Did you apply from another EU country (the country that issued the EU Blue Card to you and was not German ) or was it a job change within Germany?
@@yuvraj1566 i was already working in Germany and applied after working in my current organisation for 1+ year.
Did u apply in person or mailed them prior to application submission?
@@MSannejyo hello, I sent all the documents via email and didn't need any physical copies.
I just visited the Ausländerbehörde to pick up the Zusatzblatt.

Hello, thanks a lot for this informative video. Could you please confirm if the 12 month validity rule of Blue Card while staying outside of Germany is also valid for Blue Cards which were issued in mid of 2023?
great vid! i know the focus of the channel is to help settle in DE, but have you considered doing a video on what to do when/if you leave Germany for good? (abmeldung, bank account, radio tax, etc.)

Thanks a lot for the content. Can the spouse of the blue-card holder also apply for PR after 21 / 27 months or this rule is only applicable for Blue-card holder himself?
I always enjoy your content. It helped me learn a lot about various topics before I moved to Germany. Keep up the good work.
Now, about my question, what's the salary threshold for non-IT professionals? Is it still the same as what you mentioned, Euro 45,300? I work as a graphic designer. Last year, the salary threshold for non-IT professionals like me was around Euro 56,000.
I would really appreciate it if you could provide me with this information. Thank you.
Yes, it is as you state. Both thresholds got lowered.
PLEASE MAKE a video on GERMAN CV and cover letter sample for full time job
We already have videos on those topics: th-cam.com/video/spkPOm-1ffs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=voXqIaUqCNWKWvtc and th-cam.com/video/XVj9QnGa7So/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ONHgctdnr67pq2t3
The problem with all these permits is that its HIGHLY skewed toward tech workers..
Sounds great, but it’s incredibly challenging to secure a job without proficiency in the local language, ideally at least at a B2 level. Additionally, finding an apartment in larger cities and popular areas is notoriously difficult.
We agree that speaking German helps, however, we have lots of community members who have found a job in English. It is harder but not impossible. 😊 We also have lots of content on how to find an apartment in Germany and even wrote an ebook to help international tackle the challenge. Again - it is hard but not impossible with the correct information, mindset and approach.
More and more companies in Germany are dropping the German B2 language requirements(or replace it with potential of learning afterwards), especially if they are international companies.
I did it. It’s difficult, but I wouldn’t say it’s nearly impossible or extremely difficult 😊 cheers!
Agree with you, impossible is nothing and all those changes in the regulations they are doing are in that manner to simplify the processes and make the country more attractive for international talents but still not that simple as it looks, something you can realize when you have to wait in the huge queue in front of ausländerbehörde.
In my case my company is has English for our official spoken language. It is harder to find non German Speaking I agree 💯. But not impossible as some have mentioned.
Sounds good in book. People already living and working in Germany cannot renew their stay, because there are no People to process the. I have been told that they will take 2 years to process my permanent residency in some cities you have to tent out from mid night to get an appointment. If I were a new person, I would think twice about coming to Germany
Nc
This is very informational. Can a EU Blue Card holder still travel to another schengen country without applying a visa?
Your video is pretty clear that we need only employment contract and recognised university degree. But there is one additional form along with application with a tag 'make it in Germany' that needs to be signed by employer. Do we still need it?
Manifesting the blue card for this year🥺
In my case, all the criteria were met but the Ausländerbehörde refused to give me. They were pointing at some old income criteria. I didn't argue because I got that appointment after multiple desperate requests 😢
Can self-employed people get the blue card if they earn more that the requirement? For eg, TH-camr, Freelancer, etc.
Received mine in December 2023 for 4 years😮
As per 3:27 basically, non-EU citizen(American/Canadian) can apply to germany, all they need is job offer letter ? So would any company ask such question - "Do you require visa permit?/sponsorship?" What would be the response as a job candidate be ?. Could you clarify abit more the next steps , once the job offer is provided with given salary as mentioned ? .
Do we need a certifikate of german language level from goethe institue , as well ?
And USA/Canada doesn't require resident permit within 90 days or after 90 days, but rather apply direct EU blue Card within 90 days based on job offer letter ?
Does university degree has to be from Germany?
Thanks for alot of info. .but if you can clarify abit more, really appreciable ?
I am a food technologist and already have the B1 german level. Currently I am looking for a job in germany.

I'm also Brazilian and can confirm getting the ZAB comparability certificate approved after only a couple of weeks. The issue may actually be getting the certificate via mail, which depending on where you live, it may take a lot of time or never arrive. For me, it never arrived until I moved to Germany months later, but hopefully I received a digital copy from them via e-mail, which I could use in my Blue Card application. Not sure if they always send it digitally as well, but better ask for it to be sure.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
It is now digital for everybody
@@JeBusInYoutbe that’s great!
Thanks for the video! I have a question though. I started my job in May 2023 and my blue card is tied to it. Does that mean I cannot change my job after this May without asking for approval because it was issued before March 2024?
As always, vielen Dank und muchas gracias!
I'm worried about the information regarding waiting times and the need to leave and reapply. My understanding -based on other fireigners experience - was if your papers are in, you just have to wait in Germany and don't leave.... could you please double check that info? Also, if you move from let's say Frankfurt to another smaller town with a shorter wait time in Ausländerbehörde, does frankfurt continue to process your residency permit request, or is it automatically transferred to the new town, or does it cancel the process in Frankfurt and you start over in a new town? ...too many questions, i know ))))
You need to ask your Ausländerbehörde about that ... we can't give immigration advice sind we are not lawyers 😉 If you move within Germany, you have to inform both ABH about your move - nothing is automatic, as each ABH works independently. From our experience, they can transfer your case, once they are informed. Again, only they ABH can really tell you. From what we hear, Frankfurt is one of the quickest though!
@@simplegermany thank you!) i will definitely check it out)) thank you again for all your work and helpful info!)
Thank you for your independent work, ladies! A question: my university is recognized with +A, however I couldn't find my degree tagged to the university. Would I be able to apply still? Considering only this factor.
You might need to get the ZAB statement. Your German embassy can tell you.
I have a small doubt. If I completed 12 months in the current job and I have a blue card.
1. What if I wanted to look for a job in some other country like the Netherlands? Can I have the same blue card or they will give me another kind of Resident permit like an EU blue card?. \
2. What happens if I have PR in Germany and looking for a job in the Netherlands? will I be considered a foreigner or a person inside the EU?.
Altogether, I wanted to know, which Resident Permit is benefit in case I wanted to switch my job to the Netherlands From Germany? EU blue card or PR. Because if I have PR of Germany, I am tied to the country, unlike Blue card which is valid across the EU? Please clarify me.
I have 10 years IT Tech and server management experience..pending matter is route to get a job offer to actually apply for the blue card.
thank you for this useful video, so to bring my parents I must be in a mangerial level? so if I'm working as an it specialist I can't bring them??
Only your Ausländerbehörde will be able to tell you in your case.
That shirt looks like a Star Trek uniform
What about dependents of blue card holder? how many months of stay required for getting permanent residency and what level of language skill is required?
Thanks for the valuable information! ❤Is the reduced length before applying for the permanent residency down to 27 months only available to blue carders after march 2024 or every blue card holder can benefit from it?
We would guess only for new Blue Cards since laws usually don't apply retroactively - but we are not immigration lawyers.
Could you make a video about the procedure of changing job in less than a year with the blue card.
Find a new job and inform your Ausländerbehörde.
Hello. Can you make a video for people that want to have a side hustle and what kind of things can make with a pickup truck? Thx and have a great day! 🎉
We have a video on that 😊 th-cam.com/video/nisn0LFTd4w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=guPqrNa1jFrH7G-F
Thank you 🙏
I did my Ausbildung here in Germany as a Pflegefachman, can I apply for this chance? Thanks
Thanks! Great content.
But still one unclear thing:
I came to Germany with a blue card visa on 30 December 2022.
After I arrived and got all papers, I applied for the blue card residence permit, which they gave me in May 2023 - 5 months after I arrived. During those 5 months I was working according to the contract, that fulfills all requirements of the blue card.
I also have a confirmed German B1 level.
Am I eligable to apply for permanent residence permit after 21 months with a blue card plastic or after blue card visa + blue card plastic?
Ask your Ausländerbehörde, we can’t give personal immigration advice. 😉
I had our HR help with applying for my aufenthalstitel, and I hadn't noticed that we did this for an Aufenthaltserlaubnis type of permit instead of blue card. This happened last year, and I need to renew my residence permit now, should I reapply now for a blue card? and if so, how can this happen?
Can I apply for a blue card as a nurse here in Germany with b2 and have lived here for the past 6months?
What is the difference between an 18b vs 18g blue card . I have a problem with my bank to get a personal loan due to this change
Thank you both for this wonderful video. Will companies in Germany hire people with university degrees, many years of work experience but without German language proficiency?
That highly depends on the industry. We know plenty of people that don’t need German and others where it is required.
@@simplegermany thank you for replying. Do professional nurses needs German proficiency? If yes, atleast, which level?
@@LifewithGeetaGermany yes ,they need B2.
Hello, thanks for the video, one topic which is rarely touched and very difficult to find information about, if it is possible to transfer your blue card in another EU country, even my ABH couldn't answer.
I am not EU citizen who worked in Poland with Blue card for more than 5 years (I didn't apply for PR there), I got a job in Frankfurt, got a blue card visa from the embassy, moved and recently got my blue card plastic.
In theory EU blue card years can be combined, so if I got A1, I already will have more than 36 months so again in theory I can apply for German PR after just few months of moving but sadly couldn't find any procedure about it, maybe someone had this experience?
Hey thank you for this informative video! So, what if I am from a third country but I currently have a residence permit in an EU country (not EU blue Card), do I still need to apply for visa?
Yes if you wanna be able to work in Germany you have to apply for a german working visa
and to take the blue card the offer contract should be similaire like the major of study or any contract its ok
It needs to be related
Rules regarding bringing parents after March 2024, you specifically said management position? How is this defined? Or do you just go back to the point of high salary?
Only your local Ausländerbehörde can tell you. There is no real definition in the law.
Exactly my question too . Was wondering how management position and bringing in parents are even related ?
Hello,
I greatly appreciate your content and have been an avid follower for a long time, even before I moved to Germany. I have a specific question I hope you can help with. I have been issued a German Blue Card for the past two years, and it is valid until 2027. Unfortunately, I recently lost my wallet, which contained my original Blue Card.
Could you advise me on the process for reissuing the Blue Card? Are there straightforward steps to follow, or will I need to book another appointment? As you know, securing an appointment in Berlin can be quite challenging. I have already filed a police report and have a copy of it.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I believe a detailed video on what to do if one loses their wallet and similar items would be beneficial to many people.
Thank you for your help.
Sorry to hear! You need to speak to LEA directly and get a new permit issued as far as we know.
Germany did what American politicians has being debating and campaigning on for 30 years
I was wondering about the following scenario: There is one person that holds the Bluecard and the partner comes to Germany using the family reunification visa. If the person with the bluecard applies to the residence permit in 21 months. Can the partner also apply in 21 months? Thank you for the great content!
Ask your Ausländerbehörde, we can’t give personal immigration advice. 😉
I already have 5 years of experience as a verkaüfer and i heard that it's not possible to do this job because Ausbildungsabschluss is required in germany , is this correct ?
I have a master degree from Germany (bachelor from foreign country). After masters from Germany, I moved to an another EU country for work. Now I have a job offer from a German company and I need to apply for a work visa. Can i apply with my German degree? Does it matter if my past degree from abroad is comparable or not, since I have one german degree? I can't find a detailed explanation on this matter. Can someone tell me about this? thanks and have a nice day :)
PS: My german degree is relevant for the job. I am in science field (research and lab work)
Thanks for the video You mentioned that EU Blue card Tied with the Job Contract. Well, for a first job contract for NON-EU person there is a probation period of 6 months and after that it gets unlimited. So Will I get visa for 6 months or will my visa expiry will be according to the EU Blue card expiry?
According to your work contract as we state in the video 😉
Hello,
Thank you for the videos .. always very informative .
Do you have any information about the Permanent residency for a non-working spouse of a Blue Card holder. Can we apply at the same time ? And if so what are the requirements ?
Thank you in advance
It should be similar, but please check with your Ausländerbehörde.
i have question , if someone already has blue card in another EU country from last 1+ years, when that person move to Germany ,did that time period of stay in previous country will be count in Germany for Permanent residence or not ? kindly confirm, . second ,is it easy to move germany on blue card from other Eu country ?
Hello,
if first time applying for Blue card age 45 years applicant need to have extraordinary salary amount ?
I have work permit in Sweden (not the blue card, just regular), do you know if I need to apply for the visa first or the 3 months rule is also valid for me?
We don't know. The new rule only talks about the Blue Card. So most likely, you will need a visa. Please consult the German embassy in Sweden.
Mine came out after 7 days working days. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you give more details about the permanent residency from blue card? I have checked the details from the federal government and from the city but the requirements do not match. They say I need the integration course certificate, but it takes too long to do it.
Whether you need an integration course is individual. Some get asked to do one when they arrive in Germany, others don’t. You need to speak to your Ausländerbehörde to find out what is the case for you.
Hello, I watched your video. I mean the video is the best informations I found, easy to understand. I wanted to ask If we are not EU citizien, can't we apply for ZAB statement of comparability ? Because I couldn't register the system. And I think It's not make sense :D How we can get this ZAB statement and apply for Blue card with out applying with anabin database. In Anabin we have my university, but not my department :) Is it also possible only with H+ for my university to apply for a visa ? Thanks in advance
You can find the link for the ZAB certificate in the description 😊
This was a couple of years (about 3 years ago now), but I started the process of applying for a statement of comparability and I was not in the EU. I remember also it stating that applications for EU blue card application was handled quicker than just when one is applying for the statement not tied to that. Also if you have questions there is a contact form on the website and they usually respond back. It might have been a system glitch that you couldn't apply.
