he's so real for this. my mother (international swimming champion) signed me up for swimming as a kid and i ended up quitting as soon as i started to compete because once my coaches found out who my mother was all i ever heard was how great they remembered her being at my age. it wasn't motivating at all, and what's worse is that it took years for our relationship to recover.

Well Lewis’ brother, Nick, is currently racing in the BTCC. While most people think the team only have him for his last name, he has actually got a disability and he still races with it. That is why he is racing with the team, because he is doing the best he can.
I dont know how many parents in this world think like this, but this level of understanding is unmatched from someone so successful. I wonder what makes other not so famous parents be so stubborn to make their kids follow their path forcefully!
I don't think he was talking so much about Nico as he was always an incredible driver, and performed to almost a similar level to Lewis, there's been many previous F1 drivers that haven't lived up to their parents, most noticeably Schumacher and Senna. I still think Mick would have done a lot better in a different team where the car wasn't a dog to drive.

You could try Carlos Sainz's route or you could try something competely unrelated. I met Sir Lewis and the is the kindest person. He allowed me to take a selfie with him and gave me a hug and thanked me for the support before going onwards to wherever he was headed. Gentlemen in every sense of the word! He is the G.O.A.T. no questions asked.

He is so right, look at the shit Mick Schumacher had to endure once he was in F1. Even Max, whose father never achieved much success was initially given that pressure. Of course he won early on, so he outdid his dad early on. But Schumi and Lewis have been too successful, it would be impossible for their children to even remotely hold that comparison
Villeneuve earned everything. Went to Indycar, became last true Indy 500 and Indycar champ before the split. He earned his F1 seat.
