I've seen some of these segments get awkward because everyone takes themselves too seriously. So glad everyone was such a good sport 😂 Paul was not having it though
To be honest: If I was in part responsible for on track operations in a Formula One team I would feel pretty sensitive about a late night talk show host playing around with the devices responsible for the in-car telemetry. I can see Paul‘s viewpoint here.
Formula 1 is a high pressure environment with millions of dollars involved.
Other than that this was a quite lighthearted video that I really enjoyed.
@@julianruther4550 Yes but all of this was scripted so there was no real danger to anything. Im convinced they wrote a script that James is gonna do this and that move and then Paul should reactt in X or Y way. But that doenst make it unfunny in any way.

You know as someone who has watched f1 for over 40 years..since i was a 9 year old girl... ( not exactly the most popular sport for at 9 year old girl) but i instantly fell in love. Im am so glad f1 is getting the exposure, the global introduction..the netflix series is bringing in a whole new crop and era of f1, and its so exciting to see. As a lifelong fan this is so lovely to see. Most of my bucket list actually revolves around this sport... many things i hoped for over the last 40 years are no longer possible... i really wished i could have watched Ayrton Senna race live... i saw Michael Schumacher race, would have loved to have met him... so we make new bucket lists and add new dreams.. what is funny being a fan since i was so young...i used to be seriously infatuated with the drivers...serious crushes...of course now im 50... they are more like sons than sex symbols to me... but hey, there are plenty of girls who will crush on these young men , like i did 30 years ago.

I think some other teams would do the same. Red Bull, Haase, Ferrari. Really most of them with the exception of Mercedes. If you watch all the you tube videos of secrets Santa's and various other practical jokes with the teams and drivers, there is always the same one driver/team that is not participating. At the end of the day, most of these guys have a sense of humor.

Some people have made negative comments saying this is awful to watch. Well, I think if McLaren didn't have a sense of humour, they wouldn't have done it, and we all know how James' Take-a-Break segments go. It's goofy, irreverent, fun - and for McLaren, a lot of free advertising too!! Take it for what it is - a bit of fun for a bunch of guys who are in a very serious, intense sport.
The people who made the negative comments are trolls. They do it to get a reaction. Don't satisfy them. You need to ignore those comments so the trolls eventually die off. True fans of the show appreciate the genius of these segments.

Zak Brown has reinvigorated the McLaren Team and I’m a huge Lando and Daniel fan! I know Ron Dennis ran McLaren his way for so many years, but for me, McLaren became a bit old and stuffy towards the end of his reign. McLaren still take things seriously, but Lando and Daniel are always such great sports and giving of their time for Media and interviews. I’ve never really followed a F1 Team before, I just love the sport without having an allegiance to a particular driver and team. For the last couple of years however, I’m a McLaren fan and I’ll be ecstatic when Lando wins his first race, as he so NEARLY did last year! 🏁
at least when Ron was running the team they were winning races and championship unlike now utter embarrassing how they invite James Corden and do all of this stuff which i don't mind when you are winning but when you're a midfielder team and also scored zero that weekend is a shambles
