Wow,didn't know Rod Woodson played here
How was Don Mankowski not selected Offensive player of the game.,.???
Fun fact: The 1984-1986 CBS college football intro was first used for Super Bowl XVIII between the L.A. (now Las Vegas) Raiders and Washington Redskins (now Commanders).
My dad was in this game!
Virginia started playing football in 1902 but this was their first bowl game. Long wait.
Fun Fact: Virginia & Army Are the only programs who made their first bowl game appearance since WWII to win in their inaugural bowl appearance. Ironically, the Cadets would make their first bowl appearance the following year, in the Cherry Bowl in the Pontiac Sliverdome, defeating Michigan State, 10-6.
When Bowl games were real.
