“Like the Light From Heaven” - Remembering Life With Paramahansa Yogananda | How-to-Live Talk

- In this talk Mukti Mata (1922 - 2008), a nun and minister of Self-Realization Fellowship who became a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda in 1945, recounts some of her experiences with Paramahansaji.
“He was rather like the universe: all-knowing, all-perceiving,” Mukti Mata says. “And the love he had for every soul who came to him: wondrous, extraordinary, pure, like the light from heaven.”
This talk was compiled from several recordings made during pilgrimages to the SRF International Headquarters as part of the annual Convocation - where SRF members and friends from around the world gather in Los Angeles (and since 2020 also can participate online) for a weeklong immersive program in Yogananda’s Kriya Yoga teachings.

She was my first counselor when I went to my first Encinitas retreat. My first lesson was my problems weren't as important as I thought they were. She had a small dog on her lap when she was counseling me and as I was pouring my aching heart out the little dog jumped off her lap and was running away. She immediately got up to go after it. I thought how could she be a counselor when her dog took her attention away from my disheartened discourse? That thought has stayed with me all these years as a constant reminder that the little self is too much wrapped up in itself and the drama of life. 😢
I didn't realize until quite a few years later what that really meant. My answers were inside,
peace, love and joy was what I was looking for!❤😊

What a beautiful and authentic account about her meeting with master. You feel as if you can touch master the way she describes him and her meetings. She was a great and realised soul, with true humility and a calm personality. She baptised my second son while on tour in Germany. Insiders whisperer that she was in a previous life Leonardo da Vinci. I recently saw a painting that she made before entering the ashram which was amazing quality. So I wouldn’t be surprised, if she was such a great soul in her previous life. Many of masters highly advanced disciples were saints in their past lives, such as Saint Therese of Avila, St John of the Cross and Saint Clair Assisi where among mass disciples. When I found out about this some 30 years ago, I was so inspired, the greatest Christian Saints , in this life were disciples of our Guru! Who is our Master, if these are his disciples? 😊
And all the saints that you mentioned are here now again. In anonymity. Master said that they will reincarnate in order to help others to advance. Jai Guru!
Listening to Mukti Mata is indeed a blissful experience.We were looking forward to the inspirational talks after bathing in the fountain of peace and joy during the convocation week.. Extremely blessed to be associated with SRF/ YSS for more than two decades.Jai Guru!!

Mukti Ma came and met me and my young son when we were visiting Mother Centre. She was so generous with her time

Wonderful gift this talk is from Divine Angel Mukti Ma. Many heart felt thank you Gurudeva. In fact I was watching her previous discourse video on Prayer (th-cam.com/video/jrM1TB1F5t4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p8uDN59kOdlan0nA) yesterday night at 2 am and after finishing it, I felt that I should search for this current title and watch that as well.
