Its like how people think “gotta go fast” is one of sonics catchphrases when in reality its just the lyric from the american Sonic X theme song and he’s never actually said that phrase officially before. My guess is that the devs let you have your invincibility for a little while after the music and animation end, just so it doesn't catch you off guard when you're heading at full speed towards an enemy. Good games actually have a lot of hidden mechanics in their physics and controls to be nice to the player so they can focus on the platforming. For example, in almost every commercial platformer, if you press the jump button a few frames before hitting the ground, you'll still jump when you land. In some, if you jump just a few frames after running off an edge, you'll still jump.
I would be much more terrified to hear the blocks “urrah” first starting softly from a distance but getting louder and faster as it gets closer. Not really being able to see the block since it’s a very dark street but just a big dark shadow getting closer. Ok I’m going to go turn on my bedroom light and sleep with my gun tonight xD
Not counting the 3D all stars of Super Mario 64, would Super Smash Bros. Brawl be the last appearance of the blue spikeless Thwomp?(note:the Great Deflate from Mario Party 4 reappears in Mario Party:The Top 100, and the inflatable Thwomps in that mini game are not actually real Thwomps(although in the Top 100, they have their modern face design, but are still blue cubes, the is only one actual Thwomp in the entire game, which is Desert Dash from the original Mario Party 1, and the Thwomp in that game has its current design)

There were thwomps in Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The 7 Stars, Mario Kart 64, All The Mario Party Games, Paper Mario 2: The 1,000 Year Door The Thwomps in The 1,000 Year Door are host of Quiz Game just like Chuck Quizmo in the original Paper Mario the aria background turns into a game show like set and the Thwomp is the host He quiz you with seven questions and you got to get most of them right if you get three wrongs and you have to fight his minions called Clefts & again at X-Naut fortress on the moon where the princess is being held you meet a robot thwomp and that same thing happens the fortress background turns into that same game show set if you get three wrong again you face different minions X’s & Force field Yux’s
