      Don't listen to jerks who trash Sonicware. Sure the units are made like plastic food storage containers....They are quirky, have noisy plastic buttons, and keys...and polyester shaft standard pots..so people complain that they wiggle... I've felt worse, on more expensive gear, and after a lot of use, for more than two years now, on my XFM, some heavily used pots (filter control, etc) none have any issues, and still feel packed with grease, providing fresh feeling turn resistance. Nothing crazy though, like high end high tolerance pots, that actually remain high turning resistance for a long time. firm turning resistance isn't ideal for music gear, sometimes, and I often love pots, and encoders which can be turned with a fingertip. I bet you could make an entire instrumental Kraftwerk cover, in a single XFM, Claudio, and you have a great ear for great sounds, and I'm sure would create some excellent sound patches for various Sonicware machines. All sonicware gear is highly capable, even in the area of amazing sound design, despite it's looks. Yu Endo, and Sonicware, could definitely use some Dr. Mix preset patterns, and sound designs in it's gear, from the factory. Maybe ask Yu Endo (Sonicware's head creator)😉 I bet he would love to have you contribute to the factory presets... I have 8bit warps, xfm, and just recently I got a beyond killer deal, on a used SmplTrek, which is nothing short of amazing, as a small sampler. With V.2 firmware, it just got even better. A ton of power, for sampling on the go, and it's capable of laying down long vocal tracks, alongside an entirely otherwise sampling based sequencer. ...Complete Kraftwerk cover track all inside SmplTrek? with multiple traditional DAW-style vox tracks recorded, as well??? YUP...

    • @Mogwai06
      @Mogwai06 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      same reason im here. making noise makers is pretty fun honestly. mainly a guitarist, for lets see...
      holy f--g dogs__t.. 31 years. ok im gunna need just a second... s__T. anyway i always wondered why they didnt just make effects pedals so much more crazier once i started learning all this stuff and then started getting an interest in synths and stuff of this nature. of course it all comes down to time and money i found out eventually. too crazy and not too many might wanna try and wrestle with it to make music, and the crazier it gets, the more it costs to make, and thus purchase. not to mention the bigger it gets, so the harder it then becomes to rationally and/or realistically try and play guitar through it.
      luckily for me, out of the myriad of crazy ass things from the last more than 31 years of life, 'rational and/or realistic' is something ive yet to be called...

    • @synqelectric6163
      @synqelectric6163 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mogwai06 The DSPs and DAWs world of guitar and synths effects somewhat discourages me though as I don't know yet how to code. I however think the problem will be solved once I start making Midi controllers and embedding them in standalone units.

    • @Mogwai06
      @Mogwai06 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@synqelectric6163 iim the exact same way. ive only learned all of this myself, loooong after being out of school, in which i never took any classes for this stuff. i still have my first ever pedal, my digitech RP-12. a xmas gift from my old man in 1996. was brand new then. a few years ago, it finally stopped working on me so i started trying to find out why. turns out i love this stuff, and been working my way into harder parts til now. that old RP-12 is great because its almost all through-hole parts still. has some heavy digital stuff in it as well so im almost ready to start looking at that. but ive just recently gotten into digital logic and things and when i started with pedals, i realized synths were so similar but could get way crazier. and i loved learning about all of it and building my own noise nightmares. lol so here i be.

      When I lived in Hollywood, 90s, everyone smiled and were acting happy all the time. I used to make jokes about the British not smiling when they came to town. "You are in America now, you are allowed to smile. " Sure we were superficial but we knew how to smile and say things like, "How's it going," "great!" "Love the outfit." "Isn't that great!" Always smiley and spreading smiles. The Brits thought we were crazy. This video was reversed!

    🎼 After decades of buying cutting edge world class synths brand new, and finally selling off some 90% of my collection in recent years, this video helped me to see that I made a good decision. This video reminded me how all of these synths all pretty much sound like, well? … synthesizers. After a while they are beginning to sound just like each other. Just a little bit different in richness of color of sound. The only three synths I decided to hang onto in my collection is the MINI MOOG, Roland D 50, and the Roland Super Jupiter 12 of which nobody really knows what that is anymore. I use to have the ROLAND JUPITER 8 and JUPITER 6, however the JUPITER 12 in conjunction with the MKB 1000 controller and control module, blows both of them away, including blowing away the Memory Moog. However the Memory Moog had one bad ass pipe organ sound, which was the only reason why I bought it in the first place.
    Sadly, this guy does not know how to go after the jugular vein of the premium sounds in each synthesizer, rather than just play any old sound. As a synthesist for over 40 years, I’m glad I finally closed that chapter of my life for the most part. ELP, PINK FLOYD, MOODY BLUES, and others of their caliber showed the world what amazing sounds synthesizers really truly could do. The long version of Rock ‘n’ Roll Hoochie Koo with the long Mini Moog solo about halfway through it, is another shining example of what synthesizers can do.
    Somebody needed to have brought up the patches on each of the synthesizers that really showed what they could really do. Though this video is amazing for most to watch, it was painful for me to watch him fail to show off the amazing sounds theses synths can make. For years, I buried myself in the basement with my synthesizers for thousands of hours over a four year span learning the ins and outs of what musical Synthesizers really truly could do, and it is amazing which such sounds are not found in this video.
    OPINIONS in the MUSIC Industry are very subjective and thus my opinion here is equally subjective. Cheers!

    Since NAMM was kind of lacklustre this year, a trip north to the Purple Circus, I mean Permit Circle…no…Perfect Circuit! store works as a tasty dessert as a make up apology for the long trip to OC/LA/Ventura. I think the good Doctor has been very deep in live projects and U-Toob content for the Novation Summit to be new to him, though.

    Wow! That looks like a great store. The infrastructure for musicmakers is great in Los Angeles. Will certainly stop by *Perfect Circuit* when I visit the city next time.
    That being said I like how Dr Mix "just" makes really good music.

    The first synth you played gave me an idea for you:
    Would you do a Castelvania's soundtrack synth mix?
    Something that unites epic and synth dance vibe.
    By the way Axl F was, is and will ever be awsome.

    I think watching this video might have caused one of my speakers to come back to life. But I'm not sure for how long. IT's a Logitech 5.1 X-540 I think. I think being in cold deep storage cause the speaker to go bad. But then again, it's fuzzing in and fuzzing out on me.

    It's such a disparity to see a care for the instruments and at the same time not a single good synthesist coming from USA last 40+ years. And even back then it was mostly copying Berlin school (which actually wasn't Berlin school) and use by keyboardists for pop/rock.

    That employee is amazing! To know what he is doing with all that tech takes a lot of experience and know how. I have trouble using a Roku remote half the time and I am an 80/90s kid. Tech is in my blood. But never got into music.
    I’ll build PCs though lol.
