    On my 4520R I simply removed the DPF, knocked the innards out of it, put it back on, plugged all the lines back into it and never had any more issues with the DPF or any dash lights. No need to unplug the wiring.

      I think I'll definitely gut it soon! The DPF filter Cloggs up when the tractor is needed the most! And leaving us broke down for a day!

      Yeah. The dealer came out to my house and did this to my 4015R and never had an issue. Guess I'm not tier 4 anymore.

      @@davidwright9833 the dealer actually gutted it for you? Did he void your warranty? I'm guessing he did. I would think it would be illegal for a dealer to mess with any emissions.

    Great video for someone that happens to be in the same situation as you. Good thing about these Branson tractors is that the engine is mechanically injected and doesn't have an ECM to derate the engine and throwing out codes that only a dealer can clear. You can also just gut the innards of the DPF and unplug the DPF datalogger and you'll never have DPF issues again, just good old reliable diesel engine. It may also give a little bit more power since it can actually breathe better.

      Your exactly right! Put a straight pipe on it! You know they told us at Branson the tractor needs to be run above 2000 RPMs all the time for this not to happen but you know we putt putt around the farm on this thing, so the filter more than likely going to clog up once every year! So a DPF delete maybe the answer! Thanks for watching and we appreciate your comment!

      @@FOSTERSFARMGARAGETV Yes, running high RPMs does keep the DPF from getting clogged, but sometimes it's not enough, specially on cold environments. You can straight pipe, or simple gut the DPF or if you are into fabrication or have a shop that can do it, you can just replace the DPF with a simple tractor muffler.
      I absolutely hate to have a screaming engine for really no good reason. I'm from Portugal, and these emissions stuff were not required on tractors under 50 HP up until 2022. I'm glad I bought my F36Rn (3515R equivalent) in 2017 and got none of these emission stuff to worry about.

  • @kb1422
    @kb1422 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Haven’t done it yet because I’m still in warranty but I’ve read that on most of these engines, you can find non-DPF mufflers for tractors sold outside the U.S. and just replace it with that.

    the Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR valve) also send sot into the combustion so then you get faster black engine oil. which lead to faster engine oil change,

    I got a 2014 model just like yours, & mine did the same thing 2 months after I bought it. The dealer came out & said he was having a lot of problems at this elevation 4989 ft. & higher with the DPF plugging up. So he took out a 1/2 drill & ran 4 holes throw the DPF. End of problem.

    • @pmaint1
      @pmaint1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mike Mehaffey What do you mean he drilled holes through the DPF. You mean he removed, disassembled the DPF and drilled out the material inside?

    • @mikemehaffey9693
      @mikemehaffey9693 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@pmaint1 He drilled holes down throw (going with the air flow.) it & that made a 2" opening for air to go into. He said the DPF was only put on to make the tractor comply with the emission clean air control act for diesel engines, that this state has for cars & trucks. So far NO ONE from the state has come out to run a clean air act test on it, & since I don't drive it on blacktop roads & pass any of the states air test sights, I consider the problem fixed. Been using it that way for 8 years now & no more plugged problems.

    I don't think TYM carried the 3520 over unless they changed the model #. I can only find the 3515. Same frame but the 20 series has alot more goodies.

    The clogged DEF is caused by too much idling and not turning up the rpm when the regen light flashes. It's in your manual....
