I never had any problems with my big Starscream. The wings don't pop off, the cannon stays in place, the lights and sounds work. Best of all, he looks great next to my Unicron and Primus!
Hey guys, I took a much closer look at the figure today. Took the entire torso apart and found the electronics. They were in bad shape (and missing the speaker). But a trip to the electronics store and a few hours of work I've got the figure working again. I'll have a follow up video going up soon.
Hello, picked one up a a toy convention for 10 bux, has keys and baton but missing the crown. Found one on ebay for 7 bux. He's complete now but electronics do not work. Have you posted the follow up video you were working on?
+baltmatrix I know what you mean, those sides are a bit of a problem. I think they did that to avoid anybody breaking him because, face it, you have to apply a good amount of force to transform his arms between modes (getting them aligned and getting the feet in front of them is a pain). So I imagine they didn't want anyone breaking his arm joints.I own the Year of the Horse version of that, which I like a lot better. The cannon doesn't pop off on mine, and the color scheme is better for me (the blue is closer to his G1 cartoon colors).
baltmatrix i got mine for 20 something dollers but one of the cyberplanet keys where different and it came with no crown i got it pre owned(nobody cares) ok :(
I have a Starscream figure with this exact molding but he's about the size of a Commander figure. He came in a 4-pack with another Starscream and 2 Bumblebees. I think it was sold around the time ROTF came out. It appears as though this mold has been through some intense growing pains.
I used to think that his key weapons were both swords. cuz if i remember correctly, in the cybertron tv show, when starscream fought using his key gimmicks he would wield his gun as if it was another sword, which always confused the heck out of me. It wasnt until i actually saw the toy that i realised it was a cannon.
In the show one of Starscream's swords is bitten off by Leobreaker, and later on he uses the Omega Lock to make himself huge, and it replaces his broken sword with a big cannon. There are two Starscream toys, the Voyager one which was a Toys R Us exclusive in the U.S., and the Supreme Starscream toy which you see here.
I think i was only able to watch the series up until shortly after the beast planet, so that might have been part of my confusion, that and the fact that I was trying to recall something from about 10 years ago. So thank you and pardon my confusion and mis-remembering
I bought Supreme Starscream back in 2006 when I was in college. I wasn't big into Transformers then, but when I happened to be in a local TRU and I saw this big stompy Starscream, I had to get him, even though I didn't even know what Cybertron WAS back then. He was one of only four Transformers buys I made between about '99 and 2007 when the movies brought me back into the fold. XD

King starscream was badass and was one of the few starscreams that could actually take on megatron in both skill and power and actually kept his cards to his chest until the proper moments and also I know u remember how big he was...about the same size as primus's head while optimus at most was the size of his eye
Don't you remember from G1? Starscream could have taken on this form when he was finally rid of Megatron (who had been converted to Galvatron by the time Starscream is shown with that exact same crown).
This figure was recently rereleased as the Year of the Horse Starscream figure. I've only ever known one Toys R Us that had it in stock. There's a Chipotle near that Toys R Us. I have the voyager class toy of Cybertron Starscream, but i got it at the local Goodwill that I used to work at where I also got a bunch of other Transformers on the exact same day.
The US voyager version was only available with the 2-pack with vector prime. Due to its smaller size, it was much more stable. It also came with two swords and not a sword and a blaster for its cyber key weapons. The big problems: Due to vector prime, the set cost 25-30 dollars rather than the roughly 15 dollars of other voyagers. The colors were very inaccurate, being a dull red-brown instead of red and white. He was significantly smaller than other "voyagers", reaching only 3/4 the size of the regular voyager vector prime.
I have this figure too, with all the awesome lights and sounds. Yes you should be jealous. The cyber key activated cannon comes flying off mine too, I also lost my mistle many many moons ago.. For distinct lack of poseability it's still one of my favourite figures and I doubt I'd ever get rid of it (except maybe for another mp-01 which I sold prematurely at a massive discount, or an mp-09 or mp-10)..
The Supreme version is actually an up-scaled version of the original Galaxy Force toy. The original Galaxy Force toy was repainted three times. The first repaint was in a Toys R Us two-pack with Vector Prime(2005). The second repaint was Universe 2.0 Dirge (2008). The third and final repaint was Botcon 2008 Shattered Glass Starscream (2008). The Supreme version was never at all. It was an American exclusive figure. It was repainted one time as Platinum Edition Year of the Horse Starscream (2014).
When I was a kid I had the same one but with the sounds and I remember how loud it was. I used to keep it in a huge box with all of my other transformers and sometimes it would randomly go off at night scare the crap out of me lol. On another note it's strange that you say only the japanese version had sounds cause I am from Canada and I had one even though my parents didn't buy it from Japan.
I didn't have any 12oz cans to compare size, but I'm glad you used Supertrain Megazord, since that is the only Megazord I have, and it's the tallest figure on my Mega Mecha Shelf.
I know this video is old but wanted to comment. I've had mine since it was originally released and I still have him. I do not have a single issue with the wings/arms popping off the pegs, or the cannon or sword coming off when deploy'd... I even let my 3 kids play with it and they don't/haven't broke anything on him.
I have a soundwave-esque transformer thats pretty similar to this. The reason i say soundwave esque is because it has a chest cavity for a buzzbeak or some other robobird or a blaster

I'll admit i didn't know he could hold both his keys in his back but when i deploy the cannon on mine it has never launched off so i was suprised when i saw yours go flying like that, but i don't know if it was because your was second hand or not as i got mine from my local toy shop when Transformers Cybertron was released.
He's the same height as Unicron and is actually about 2 inches taller than Primus. They really should've made Primus bigger since he's supposed to be a Supreme-class toy. Honestly, Leader-class Metroplex is taller than Primus.
Yes. Primus was using his sparks power (or whatevs) to close a black hole or something, Starscream jumped in the way and turned obscenely big after absorbing a bunch of energy. He wants more so he tries to take down Primus, the autobots throw up a shield to buy time to fix things so Primus can fight. They succeed and Primus literally moons him by lassoing the two moons over and whipping them at him.
I must have the Japan one I bought it at a car boot sale but I don’t have the crown or the keys to open the weapons up but I do have the sounds working

I use this guy as “the master Mould”, yes, like in X-Men, but instead of sentinels, this is where all the seekers came from. And yes, i know its a 10-year-old video…

1. the lights and sounds were not removed from the Hasbro version. 2. I don't know what version you have but it is not the Hasbro version; I have the Hasbro version and It does not have shiny red paint, this may be the camera/lighting as well but I am not sure.

This guy is impressive and one the best Screamers Ive seen but I think it would have been far better as a Megatron. The crown is a nice touch too.

us version does have electronics, which i can confirm because i own it. it was the voyager version that got gutted stateside

the inertia of the main body is strong enough to make the parts come off when pulling on it

In accordance to the show, Starscream's arm attachments are too small. The pieces that pop off should be longer, and so ahould the weapons.
Remember that was a tv show so they had a lot more freedom with that
