    was fortunate enough to receive a really well done one. At first it looked like the carbon fiber had those weird threads, but after just scratching it with a fingernail it fell off and the carbon fiber looks perfect as well. the edges of the carbon fiber where it meets the titanium looks like a place where it might receive a lot of wear over time.

    I've always loved this design I actually owned the Marfione model I believe it was some type of midtech it was full titanium sub FramLock the price wasn't bad I think I had paid about $800 so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a custom but it was a Marfione such a cool design .

    I’d say it’s a safe bet that your blade warped in the heat treat process and that’s why your blade is off center. The slot the blade is in should be extremely consistent given it’s milled into the block, and I’d almost bet if you blade swapped them it would still be perfectly centered on the good blade

  • @danduran536
    @danduran536 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found out that the stop pin screws plays a big part to center the blade and the action. My Anax came off-center and action sucked. I loosened the pivot and both stop pin screws. Then retightened the pivot and it centered the blade. I made sure to only snug up the stop pin screws and the knife has been perfect. If I tightened on side more then the other, the blade would slightly move to the side or squeeze on the blade too much. Maybe it’s the same case with yours.

    First off, great informational videos! Can you recommend a button auto folding pocket knife with drop down? Mike

    • @wes.killed.it.5511
      @wes.killed.it.5511 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't exist unfortunately. All autos have a recoil spring near the pivot, and after closing the knife the spring is coiled into place until the knife is actuated, giving the "automatic action". You would either have to accept the auto for what the design is, or you could look into purchasing a manual button lock, which most of do drop shut even out of the box. But those are the only two options that there are currently.

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined ปีที่แล้ว

      A drop shut auto? Whoever makes that will really have something.. it’ll probably have batteries.
      There are a couple autos that can work as manuals too. So it has a detent and the spring stays put until the automatic deployment is used. So it’s a smooth drop if you manually deploy it.
      Or do you just mean a good button fired side open auto with a drop point blade?

    Nice looking knife but the asking price of $450 is a bit steep for a knife that was made in China. I’m not a huge fan of front flippers either. The one piece integral handle is cool, but not super critical on a pocket knife. The other thing is this knife looks pretty smooth, making it hard to hold on to with wet hands. I do like the blade shape and but I will get the LUDT Gen 3 for almost $200 less.

    • @metal_complex
      @metal_complex  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The LUDT isn't titanium and it isn't an integral. "China" doesn't magically make things cost under a certain amount. It's how they're created, what they're created out of, how long it takes to create, AND where they're made that dictates the final price tag.
