Regardless of his diagnosis and meltdown and prolific dating history, Charlie sheen is unabashedly brilliant, enlightened, and intelligent. He has a lot of gifts to share and I’m glad he’s still around to share them.

WOW!! Martin sounds like a rock star and yet my heart can't not hurt for Charlie! Clearly he gets it!! Listening to martin talk about Charlie being for his kids is sweet!! Picturing him as a grandpa is AWW!

I always root for this guy. I don't know why. He has done and said some sh*tty things but he doesn't seem like a bad person. He just needs to stay clean and sober.

It feels unreal ,I thought he's the kind of character that would appear in Grand Theft Auto stories or people says Joker in real life...

love martin sheen, wise wise man! and you can tell he is a good father...Like he said charlie was an international superstar before becoming an adult. had a lot of people around him who weren't really looking out for charlies best interest, and those people can keep a good father or mother from having any say or influence on somebody like charlie with his fame and power. At some point Charlie needs to be the one held accountable for his own behavior and actions as a grown man. Look at Emilio...he turned out just fine.

+upoutmyfaceb0y yes i think his father gave a good analysis on, not just charlie, but every child star. and how they miss out on the growing up bit. i think when you start earning so much so early in life, you are bound to go wild, not all but most. this is why child stars have more breakdowns later in life, because they have not tastes real life outside hollywood.

I imagine as a father you automatically think you freakishly messed up watching your son go down like that in public! However, Martin Sheen handled it so superior, yet never vain, standing by his son at any time analyzing where it comes from and keeping his head over the water. So there's still an important and even lovely side note above all this crap: As a dad you never retire, your kid always needs you and always will whether it's in film bizz or anywhere else.

Also, too, when I look at this clip of Charlie talking about his father talking about him being a 18 year old with accessibility everywhere and I can't help but think of Matthew and John Owen aka rob lowes boys. (Called boys on camera.) love that as big as they are called young kids. Mostly though I realize the fact that even at 22 years old John Owen is treated like a kid assuming he acts like an adult in most ways. charlie at John Owens age was famous. picture John Owen and Matthew having been given access at 15 to stuff there father saw. Or there uncles. Once you see it that way, you almost can't be mad at Charlie for his life path.

He seems very uncomfortable doing interviews and he's almost hard to understand, he runs his words together and mumbles, which is weird for an actor. I loved his acting and two and a half men was a hoot, it's really a shame what he did to himself.

The guys in his 40's. Give him a break. I know we like to think Charlie eat drugs, drinks drugs, breathes drugs, sleeps on a mound of cocaine, but the truth is he's breathing the same shitty air you and I breathe, living in the same bullshit society as you and me, and not a day passes that it doesn't take a little something away from you. Let me know how you look in 20 years.

  • @NA86737

I call bullshit on this because Emilio became famous at 20-21 and Charlie was maybe a year younger when he broke in Red Dawn. Martin makes excuses for Charlie's behavior because its so extreme he has to find a reason. You hear about him and his wife while they were kinda hippie liberals they were these fairly devout Catholics with values and they have this one son who basically is a hedonist.
