  • Timelapse photographs stitched together to make a video of the mega geomagnetic storm of April 24, 2023.
    Camera used is a Canon SL3/250D DSLR and a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art Series Lens. Watch for rapid movement of the red arms of ionized gas in the 2nd clip!! Outstanding! Never saw the Northern Lights before! Scientists are saying this is the furthest south they have ever been seen!

      I've never seen them before. Usually you have to be way up by the Canadian border. Glad I was able to go out, no clouds, and photograph it!

    Wow I was so cloudy here couldn’t see anything at all I definitely looked at 10-11pm nothing was seen

      Yeah cloudy here until 11pm. Wasn't sure I'd see anything. Luckily it cleared up. That part of the sky is always totally dark! Yesterday it looked like there was a Walmart parking lot over there. I never saw the Northern lights before. Usually you have to be up by the Canadian border. Pretty wild!
