- turning my canon camera into a real cinema camera - ultimate camera rig build
So this is the video where I'm taking my Canon mirrorless camera to the next level by turning it into a real cinema camera. I"ll be taking you through what I call the ultimate camera rig build, showing you every step of the process. From choosing the right gear to assembling the rig I've got you covered. This video is perfect for those of you who are looking to enhance and get the best video quality possible from the camera you already have. Most parts used are from SmallRig, like the mini v mount battery as well as adding an Atomos Ninja V to the rig which is a popular choice among filmmakers. For this rig build i'll be using my canon r6 mark 2 but you can apply these principles to other camera like the canon r5 or canon r6.

I was expecting to see more subs and comments after watching the quality of your video. Great job man! I'll have to use a couple of your links...that right hand wrist strap is genius!
Thanks man! Glad you found the video useful 👍🏾
nice.
This was such a cool and interesting video! Loved it! Great job💯🔥
Thank you!😊
Awesome rig!
Thanks man!
Great job, it looks professional.
Thank you!
You’re welcome
Wow this one was interesting seem to know a lot about your technology
Nice vedio 👍
I really enjoy taking a look at how others rig out their cameras and compare it with how I did it. Turns out we have very similar ideas. I used about 85% of the same parts you did to rig out my panasonic g85. Thanks for the great content.
lol that’s awesome, great minds think alike. Sounds like you have a pretty sweet rig build. Thanks for sharing
How easily can I adapt this to my Canon EOS R8 camera?
Most parts are easily adaptable to the R8. The cage might be the only thing that you’d need to get for that specific camera seeing that it’s a smaller body
Does it actually charge the camera using USB-C to USB-C from the camera to the V-mount? From what I read it will only do that when the camera is off unless you use a dummy battery. Did you need to do something else for the direct to stock to work?
Great question. Technically when the camera is connected via usb-c to usb-c on a v-mount battery it charges the battery in the camera at a very slow rate. So essentially i get a much longer run time from the camera's battery and also if the v-mount battery dies, i still have some power on my camera from its battery which is one of the reasons why i don't use dummy batteries. I hope this answers your question. Cheers👍

Thanks for the video can you do more like this using more budget friendly cameras and different style shoulder mount with different brands other then nicely 😂
Ok man will do something a little more budget friendly with other brands😃. Thanks for watching
No problem
Wow this one was interesting seem to know a lot about your technology .
It's really fun😊
Wait....the $400 ninja V records 6k raw? I thought you needed the new Ninja V Ultra for that... Ninja is so confusing
Yeah there was a firmware update on the ninja v that allows the r6ii to record 6k raw.
What recording time do you get by adding the Ninja V and External battery? When using my R6 II without any accesories i can only record up to 25-30 minutes on 4k 60fps before the camera is overheated.
I got just around 40 minutes with the ninja v and the external battery in 4k 60fps clog 3. Filming conditions were around 77F so the recording time may vary in more warmer or cooler conditions
Any reason you're not running the dtap port to your camera and then using DC to the monitor?
No particular reason. I prefer using DC to dtap port to run my monitor and usb-c to keep the battery in my camera charged instead of using a dummy battery.
👏🏻🔥
🙌🏾
Hope you’re making money with that thing
That’s why I built it
