I understand your point about programming the drum track "like how a live drummer" would play, and YES, I do mute out certain drum sounds to sound realistic, Butttt, there's times I don't because I've also seen Live bands that would have (2) drummers and drum sets on stage, so that would "rationalize" my excessive drum programming...lol, I also use "Ratchet" in the 16 Level drop down, to make variations of snare rolls... #Salute
You’re a monster for taking that screen protector off🤣 make me want to get a live 2, I’ve been on the verge of replacing my one with it but I’m still learning the mpc to begin with. Much love bro appreciate your videos keep it up
Congrats with your MPC Live 2. I bring it outside all the time, using a hardcase as a sunscreen. It's really liberating and inspiring. Small tip: The only important button missing compared to the MPC One is Program Edit. You can open it by default on the Live 2 with Menu + Pad 14 but I recommend configuring it to Menu + Pad 4. That way you can open Program Edit with a single finger stroke.
your pack of bass one shots are one of my go to. thank you very much. please give us more. maybe this time some of your favourite instruments. one love
I admire your ability to plan & execute each part one step at a time. You don't seem to lose focus or 2nd guess your decisions. I personally be all over the place a lil too often lol
I'd love to see how you'd use more mid-high freq synth noises in a hip-hop beat, like what Mike Dean would work on or 'My beautiful dark twisted fantasy' sounds. Love your beats and vibe!
Can you do a video on creating drums for a jazzy fusion type beat? U know that Nu Jazz, Acid Jazz type fusion style track that you get around 110 - 115 BPM or so? Stuff like St Germain or the Good Looking Records Earth albums? I’ve been wanting to try making that sort of track but it’s been a struggle.
Blaze is Dope, if you like hard tracks check out anything from Notts or Check out producers the opus and their album for the group Rubberoom called Architecnology also Showbiz and ag - Good fellas or Edan - Beauty and the beat. Now that's hard!!!!
Couldn’t justify buying the live 2 then my friend let me hold his for a couple weeks and I bought one lol 😂 the live 2 is just perfect the portability and the battery life
I’m in a state of perpetual frustration. I study music prod with Ableton being the dominant daw so push 3 would make sense for my daw less space of guitars, bass and synths but then I have an MPC x se in my studio so a force would be great for integrating both but a live 2 would be perfect for portability and speakers. Its all to hard. Plus I want to get into elektron ‘s octatrack. So I’m just doing nothing about it 😂
Thank you for this! This video inspired me to start using cymbals more and really happy with the results: th-cam.com/video/HRmrCO3gcmY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XGv7tNkHyXJTkXKI I’ve learned so much from so many of your videos. Hoping you’ve got more coming soon!

That's very true, it definitely depends on the style. All rules are breakable! Appreciate you!

That comes naturally with time and a lot of practice and study
Dope!! I would’ve used a tambourine for the 16th note and not the shaker.
Damn man, thanks for always inspiring. Those drums are hittin’

Do you just find one shots of drums that work well together? Or do you chop up a break?

I cook on that MPC Live 2 daily
I'm pumped to get it worked in, I've been on it non-stop since I picked it up!
@@RYANMAKESBEATS dope. There’s so much to learn and I love the portability of it.
Scarface will give you something nice on that
