I ran in the 1080v10, then the More v2 (hated the Ultraheel but loved those two shoes otherwise), then the v12 which went higher stack, then the More v3 which was even higher and now the v13 which is higher and super-soft. I love the v13 and haven't found any problems with it. I've heard complaints about the v13 in terms of stability but I haven't found those to be an issue with me so I bought two more for $91 (one for me and one for my wife). The v13 is great for my running and it would be hard to justify an extra $74 for the v14 when I like the v13 so much. I will look at the v14 on Black Friday 2025 along with the More v5 but it may be that I just keep buying the v13 until the v15 comes out. The 880v15 has a 40 mm stack so I expect the 1080v15 will go to 41-43 mm. I used to use aftermarket insoles back around 2015-2018 for additional cushioning and arch support but found that they were no longer necessary after the 1080v10 or maybe the v9. For me, higher stack has meant that an aftermarket insole isn't needed to prevent injuries.
Awesome. That’s really nice when you find a shoe that just SINGS for ya. In this case the 13. Heck yes it’s discounted! You found a good one. Use em up, foams are good for about a year so I heard but that’s a loose rule IMO. it’ll be interesting what they do with the 15. The more v6 is on the way so will be interesting that way too. Havent tried the 880s. Great stuff! Thanks!
One of my pet peeves is people who use full on running shoes as casual/lifestyle footwear, but in this colourway I am seriously tempted to buy them for just that. Hell, I must be getting old! Fortunately, the price may prevent me buying this shoe, so I can hang on to whatever cool cred I have left 😉😁 ps. Thanks for putting the shoe weight in grams, it saves me having to convert on the fly and my brain is way too old for that kind of gymnastics 😉
Yep-I saw a lady wearing Vaporfly 3s at the farmers market and they were super worn down (maybe a runner) and I’ve seen Alphaflys at airports and at Disney world. Crazy. I’m with you (masters class-ish) except I have no more cool cred left. I do really like the color and ability to dress up or run down. Perfect for me as a dad cause I ain’t got time to be messing with shoes when the kids are trying to burn the house down or play in traffic. For the grams you’re welcome. I don’t expect mental gymnastics for you or any viewer. Should be a nice time deep diving into a shoe(s)that surfaces purposefully useful information bout shoes ☺️
666 subscribers😃. New Balance pricing is strange. Rebel V4 is so reasonable priced but this one is $20 more expensive than average daily trainer price. So overall you like them better than the V13?
666, watch out! You're right, NB has a wild way of pricing, I like the 14 overall vs the 13 but a lot of it depends on your foot. It’s a premium shoe and they’re proud of their prices. But, against the Balos (200) this is a fire sale
V13 was praised as the best update ever on 1080 line, this one even better and so on.... No real important step forward like Adidas ultraboost was, Nike's ZoomX... Nothing revolutionary in sneaker world in 2024. Save your money and buy previous cheaper version if must buy at all:) v14 better upper, worse midsole for walkers (maybe better for running- it's firmer than V13).
Agreed. Buying the previous years model will be cheaper and makes sense to save money. 2024 has the skyward x, sb2, mount to coast brought an entirely new company online-the year of zoomx was special absolutely. The 14 is nice and firm vs the 13. I’d agree some walkers might not like that. Good news is the 13 is clearance now 👌
Never thought I'd find a NB shoe I loved to run in more than the More v4. Well.. 😍
The v14 is a heck of a shoe. I have run in the v13, the more v4 and v5. This 1080 v14 exceeds my expectations 👍

I smell a 1080 v14 | More v5 | Balos shoe(t)out coming up.
Your nose is correct sir ☺️☕️

More v 5 puckered in toe box. Hate that. These don’t?!!
Not that I can tell. The upper holds up well but there is a tiny bit of creasing at the midsole
