I'm not usually a fan of vermouth but the fact it only uses 2/3 of a pint allows the other flavours some space to play off the subtleties and bring out the best of the worst
He made a mistake of pouring sweet vermouth while stating it's dry vermouth..Is he a comedian cause he is for sure no Bartender 😮😮p.s. I've been serving up libations for 30 years and for sure you don't put a bottlecap in a drink 😮😢
This is someone who is NOT afraid to perform the craft the way it was intended -- WITH HANDS and FINGERS to stir!!! Way to go, Tim. Thank you for setting the example, we should not forget our roots.
My grandparents would pound these down every Flag Day. A cap went missing one year and we had to let them stay in our guest house for 4 days until gramps passed it. We passed the time by listening to Grandma's tales of her time in the Merchant Marines and all her visits to Bangladeshi "massage parlors." That's where she met Gramps. Thus my accent. Best Flag Week ever!
My favorite thing about this is that Bully Boy makes vodka, whiskey, rum, gin, and amaro and it's impossible to tell which he's pouring at the beginning.
Listening to the way he says it he clearly prefers to be more generic because there's a ring to it. Any skilled bar hand will slip into the same thing.
The secret to making a great drink is dumping out the first batch of whatever you make to get a nice coating on the glass. Not a lot of people know this.
So I know this is just a joke, but my family actually drinks a variation of this called the monday hunch - uses dew classic instead of CR, and you actually use your dishwasher to do a 3rd glass coating. Very good.
Oh man, love seeing that Tim is still being Tim. I had doubts for a moment that this would be a legitimate drink recipe. When I saw he had 75 bottles to work with, I let out a sigh or relief, and enjoyed the unscripted shit-show. "Great job!" 😆🤣
Warning if you are making this for an extended family lunch your floors will become extremely flammable for a few days, but that really brings out the Kahlua rimming and is unfortunately entirely unavoidable. Salut!
Give it another try but next time LET THE CAP SIT! You'd think it wouldn't make much difference, but the cap sort of absorbs some of the more damaging flavors. However, I have found that you CAN substitute the Mountain Dew Game Fuel for regular Mountain Dew (or even DIET Dew), just add a good spurt of red food coloring, to taste.
Refreshing to finally see somebody who knows about letting the cap sit.
Rimming the glass with a finger of Kahlua really brings out the half pint of dry vermouth
Most mixologists will argue that once the glass is full you should stop adding liquor but Tim is not most mixologists.
Some mixologists will also argue whether the glass is half empty or half full.
He's pushing the envelope & doing things "you're not supposed to do". Most industry mixologists hate him.
“let the cup floweth over”

Tim though
Thank you Tim. Just wish there was a dash of Pitzman’s
*Pissmans

I was thinking he forgot something. What a shame. He had a perfect game going, too.
It would really kick it up a notch.

@@Vincent-f1odo you think he is really making a cocktail
@@Vincent-f1oyou're a bit slow eh
You can tell it's an old familiar recipe by how he picks up each bottle then reads what it is.
Well he wants to be sure he's got what he's looking for.
He forgot to create a lane on the bar to push the spilled liquor back into the glass.
You can tell he's made this drink countless times before
Do it wrong.
Fine print: Though this cocktail might sustain you through a long thanksgiving afternoon, it will also cost you 326$.

there's natural oils in the fingers. A great cocktail shines for its oils.

thanks. that was worth the read.
amazing comment, thank you lol
A year late but I found you. Keep up the amazing work.

A tale as old as time itself . . .
Finally! A mixologist that thinks about the outside of the glass! ♥ ♥ ♥
Funnily enough it's actually very important to rub citrus oil on the outside of a glass
And remember kids: always season the cutting board, not the meat.
You can really taste the game fuel in the finishing notes of this cocktail. 10/10 would serve at my child's birthday party again
Hahaha
Just don’t let the child clowns near it!
My 10 year old niece and her friends said this cocktail went really well with the cheese pizza they had.
"We're gonna wanna lock those more complex flavors in-" proceeds to pour an entire bottle of mountain dew game fuel
Yeah that's the joke idiota, thank you for explaining it
just dont let Tim Heidecker do anything anywhere with free reign.

That is 100%
The typed up drink recipe at the end definitely makes this video. Props to Maxim for having a good sense of humor about it
*Me absolutely loaded at 2 am making a devilish concoction to preserve my buzz*
Glad to here that this drink the “Sunday afternoon” would make a great drink for the well known Sunday holiday of Thanksgiving.
This is the "Sunday Lunch" - the Sunday Afternoon is identical except you use classic Mountain Dew instead of Mountain Dew Game Fuel
My favorite thing about this is that Bully Boy makes vodka, whiskey, rum, gin, and amaro and it's impossible to tell which he's pouring at the beginning.
It’s whatever your feeling like having this drink is the best
it's our newest release its just 'Bully Boy' -- it tastes like everything and nothing
Looking at the label color, it seems to be their white whiskey.
Listening to the way he says it he clearly prefers to be more generic because there's a ring to it. Any skilled bar hand will slip into the same thing.
‘The coating on the cup really brings out the flavor,’great tip Tim!
The way he talks im just waiting for him to say “and now we add a little pitzmans”
Glad to see a drink expert who's not afraid to rim the glass and let the cup floweth over
I can just picture the whole Heidecker family making these every Sunday lunch
I heard he calls this bartending without a net.
Bravo!!! Best comment!! Well played, sir.
I lost it at the dry vermouth
As a recovering alcoholic I genuinely appreciate this
You're recovering from alcoholism? So, basically you have a hang over or what?
I think I made this exact drink once when I was still out there.
@@justabitofjunkie I quit drinking, still going well.
@@Lincolnlogsoff Good job bro!
@@Lincolnlogsoff Awesome dude. I hope you feel better.
My family will DEFINITELY be drinking a few of these this year on Thanksgiving sunday
I litterally have 3 of these every Sunday Thanksgiving. Then I hang out with my coworkers and have some Riddddgggggeeeedd Chipppppssss.
Lol you said a joke he did
"Add just little bit of dry vermouth " proceeds to fill the whole glass with vermouth
The fact that I thought this was real for the first 2 minutes made it so much better
Coating outside of the glass is the subtle genius of Tim
this drink pairs great with sour cream and onions dip as long as you have Ridged Chips
Alternate video title: "Watch Tim Heidecker waste around $400 dollars in alcohol."
I started coating my other bottles in leblon and I really notice the difference in their flavors. Great tip.
Tim should make this as part of “On Cinema, On Drinks”
1:32 “we’re gonna toss all that out” omg Tim you’re killing me, I love it
Only thing this is missing is the CLASSIC heidecker move of spitting out of liquids he just drank lol
Do NOT forget to rim that glass! That is where the lips make most of the contact while drinking and it really helps lock in complex flavors.
Except delete the "gl".
Tim almost broke mentioning the Mountain Dew.
I drink 10 of these every Sunday morning. Nothing better.

this is the funniest thing i've ever seen
Perfect drink for when I get the Sunday Scaries!!
On Sundays, spend a lot of time making sandwiches. So you're....you know the rest.
Tim's Kitchen Tips turns into Tim's Bar Tips
That cap soaking is a very interesting technique, definitely going to try this.
He lost me when he said I this is good for a long Sunday afternoon, like thanksgiving. 🤣
That’s when he found me.
I make this exact drink, except I add just a little dash of Pitzmans. It's the secret ingredient that locks all the flavours in.
The mustard!? Haha
I made one of these and now I'm Z O N K E D
This drink pairs perfectly with a nice bowl of spaghet
Give this drink 5 bags of popcorn 🍿 and a little lemon 🍋 wedge for the garnish
It's a cocktail for the whole family... that's such a beautiful thing.
I actually thought he was serious at first, until he flooded the counter with Pura Vida. I should have known better lol.

A nice long suday like Thanksgiving lmao it's always on Thursday 😆
Holy shit I lost it when he poured the dry vermouth
“Use a slight tossing method”
All of my favorite dry vermouths are that color. The dryer they go on the spectrum, the more the red comes through in the color. It’s just science.
"Good drink to have on a Sunday afternoon maybe like Thanksgiving or something"
Saw this just in time for Thanksgiving . Can’t wait to surprise my family with this spirit ?
I’d always have one of these right before church.
lmfao! Tim always putting in the overtime. 🤣🤣 Great stuff! I need a drink after watching this.
I was hoping he would at least take a sip
Bartenders punching air right now

this is the new james boind drink from casin royal
I'd rate this 5 bags of popcorn and 1 stocked bar , so we can make some drinks.
and how bout a couple sodas and a candy bar
A real cocktail head
Interesting to see the double coating of the glass, a stylish and often overlooked element
In my family that drink is called "Hungover All Monday"
the second coating is what gives it that Heidecker touch
No one is going to mention the fire hazard here?
What do you mean? The heat generated by his raw mixing skills?
No one talks about the importance of triple, quadruple glass coatings
So I know this is just a joke, but my family actually drinks a variation of this called the monday hunch - uses dew classic instead of CR, and you actually use your dishwasher to do a 3rd glass coating. Very good.
I notice a little bit more every time I watch this. Like when he coated the rest of his liquor with the liquor.
Gregg was probably trying to intimidate him from right behind the camera.
