    Carpentry tip: Home Depot has what’s called ‘easy outs’ which are bits for stripped screws, the dremel I usually use a thin wheel to cut a straight line to use a straight screw driver. If you can’t find easy outs what you need are bits with a reverse thread so that it will bite when you spin it out. Sometimes you can find them in a kit also

    That is a beautiful Stratocaster. Normally I’m not into the gold bodies, but that particular tone works, especially with that fretboard. It was cool seeing the vintage guitar bits too. I have a Silvertone 1423L Jupiter that I need to get a couple more bits to restore it.

      Agreed, with the reflections eliminated you could more easily see the surface relic job. Years ago I was involved with product photography and can attest it is really difficult to capture an accurate view/image. I think most people (myself included) take for granted how much better most everything looks in-person. These last few years it sometimes seems like most everything we view has been on a computer monitor or TV (or even a phone/tablet). The human devolution of visual information!

    I bought an Aztec Gold Mod-Shop Strat in Jan 2021 I had it in my hands 31 days after I ordered it I Love mine. I went with a Roasted Maple neck and fret board. Gold Hardware and a Blacked out HSH pick guard with a pair of Shawbuckers Stunning Guitar Plays fast and even without a Floyd it stays in tune even after a divebomb attack. best $1895.00 I've ever spent on Guitars.

    I just bought a prs 2408 custom se after trying multiple gibsons and high end epiphones. I am mainly a fender guy but wanted more of a "les paul" sound. I gotta say prs is something special.

    • @hkguitar1984
      @hkguitar1984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Congrats, for years I've been meaning to add a PRS to my humble collection. As for wanting a Les Paul sound and choosing the PRS, good choice and I actually think the slightly longer scale length of the PRS provides some advantages when really playing hard.

      Have a 1999 Swamp Ash Special and though I thought I would love it, I have come to liking my Strat, Frankenstrat and Les Paul far more. The PRS wide/fat neck is uncomfortable after a while. I also don't like the McCarty pups.

    • @hkguitar1984
      @hkguitar1984 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alwaysopen7970 IMHO, Guitars are like people, each one should be evaluated individually. Just like any other builder PRS has many different neck profiles and pickups.
      I just got a new Telecaster and the neck measures 1.10" at the 12th Fret, to say it is chunky would be a gross understatement!
      Point being, my other Tele has a pretty thin neck.
      How about the Ash body of that PRS, I always liked the look of those.

    I have an Aztec gold strat looks just like that without the gold hardware and it doesn’t have the rosewood fret board it was a 60th anniversary addition I believe , I walked in guitar center and high up on the wall they had the gold and a off white one with rosewood fretboard , I bought both cause they had them marked down to 900 bucks. Still have them in their cases. Great USA made strats.

    Hello Hello!! You could do a hinged three panel mini photo booth and have the material on the table to lay the guitars or pretty parts down on. I did that with a leatherwork table, then I folded in the two sides and tucked it in a corner when I wasn't taking pictures. (the height is same as width of the blk. material) Works like a mini studio and you can lay it on the floor if there is stuff on the work table. LOL Easy peasy.

    Yes, get two pieces stitched together and drape the table. The strip on the edge of the cloth is called a “selvedge” and is part of the manufacturing process of all cloth. Get someone with a professional sewing machine. (Dry cleaners?) to sew the peices together and you will get a seamless effect.

    Hey trogly you should check out/review some of the cheap $30 tp-6 tailpiece copies sold under the guyker brand on Amazon, I believe they're probably made in the same factory that made the Epiphone labeled ones that where on the Epiphone BB King Lucille models and they are pretty decent for the money but it would be neat to see someone that has all this vintage parts knowledge that you only get from experience do a comparison between the genuine ones the reissues and those.

      Yes, but in reality he basically just made some tweaks to his already perfect designs. Of course the US made G&L's are great instruments because they are essentially hand made in a small "custom shop" but their affordable overseas line are just like everyone else's overseas stuff. Boy, I'm strapped for bears when it comes to parts, like speed knobs Austin! I got them for regular but then I have speed knows with abalone art of circles then birds (a favorite), shells and wood, turners for guitars and bass. Loads of stuff!

    Tank the cloth to a good seamstress. They'll be able to use that edging to do an invisible seam.

    That black material would be awesome for a fabric topped guitar. I've seen many fabric topped guitars and the results are always really good.

    Hey trogly, if that black sheet is going to work on camera, you need to color adjust in post-production to set the black levels correctly.

    Dremel tool is a game changer for polishing frets. I did 3 of my guitars recently and it was super easy and did a great job

    I purchased a Fender Stratocaster from a Shop in the city. I ordered it in September last year. When it arrived (a couple of days ago) and I looked on the back at the serial number it had a 75th anniversary decal. Is that a good thing, getting a 75th anniversary one? Or it really doesn’t matter? I like it.
