The one part you left out is the part I need...I cannot figure out that weird extra fold towards the back of the box...and how that fits into the Kallax.
It's just a box? That's why there's that mark you need to make in the front. Make the box and line it up to the line in the front that you make. That'll ensure that the box is pushed back as far as it should go. Good luck
Do you need the cardboard insert, or can you attach the door straight onto the kallax? I have a kallax bottom square that is where all my electrical cords/surge protector sit for my printers in my office; they are threaded into it from the back. I want to hide the cords with a door. If I put the cardboard insert, then the back of the kallax is cut off, blocking me from threading the cords from behind into the square. Can the door still function and look nice without the cardboard insert?
You could probably make that work. The only thing I have a slight concern about is that the door may not be able to fully shut because the cardboard is pushing the door out that few mm's. But the hinge is adjustable, so it might just work out for you. Good luck!
I can't get the screw that is supposed to tighten so the part of the hinge on the door attaches firmly to the part that's installed in the cube to do so. I have installed many draw insert sets successfully, but the Kallax door inserts just won't seat the two parts of the hinges together firmly.
Sorry not exactly sure what to tell you. I didn't have any problems with that. Maybe try backing out the screw as much as you can so you have the best chance of slotting them together, then screw it down?
It's going to be too flimsy. The unit is going to be shifting all over the place when you try to open or close if it's not mounted to the walls of the kallax.
You'd have to rig something up. We have cabinet locks for toddlers on one of ours. I don't know if you qualify that as "lockable," but nobody can get into it without the magnet key.
Thank you for NOT having music and for starting with instructions, not an intro.... 😄
Lol thanks
Excellent how to! I didn’t even want to fast forward or yell at you to move on. 😉
Thank you so much for helping the IKEA challenged community! A+
Lol thanks
Thanks that helps! I find the IKEA instructions not great on this particular item
Glad it helped
Short and sweet. Thanks!
Glad it helped
Great tutorial! Thank you!!
Glad it helped
Thank you so much for this video .. I’m a handyman by trade and the directions were so vague that I was scratching my head 😅
Glad it helped!

This is good, thank you. But right now I am specifically looking for a video guide for installation of Kallax table and so far unable to find.
Do you screw the screws all the way into the cube part???
Yes. That's how the insert mounts in so it doesn't fall out.
Do you screw into the wood Cube? There's no give holes so worried to ruin the cube
I've been having a heckuva time adjusting the hinges so that the door fits squarely in the opening. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Sorry not really. Just keep trying? Small adjustments are what you want to go for.
My screws kept coming out. Wouldn't stay in the holes ones screwed.
Wood glue may help, the dollar tree has some
same😭😭thats why i came to this video

Do you think this would work without a kallax unit? I mean just the cupboard loose on a normal shelf? Or is it too flimsy?
It's going to be too flimsy. The unit is going to be shifting all over the place when you try to open or close if it's not mounted to the walls of the kallax.
Any way to make this lockable? Ikea do sell a lockable unit, but unfortunately not in my region.

The cardboard thing is actually called Masonite, at least where I live.
Good to know, thanks
Thanks!

Do you need the drill?
You can get away without it, but it makes the process a lot easier
