I love how nowadays that trailer looks like Dark Descent gameplay.
The game is what it is, but this trailer is truly a cinematic joy to watch. The soundtrack from the movie Moon strangely fits and adds to the buildup. Very well done short film.
I actually enjoyed this game, despite its shortcomings, had allot of fun pretending to be a colonial marine
The game is not bad at all. I had a lot of fun playing it. But the thing is, they promised something that was almost spectacular. The kind of game that every Alien fan wanted... And they did not deliver it. And that is sad.
Its terrible with no redeeming features whatsoever.
I liked it too, it was good fun
The multi-player was fun, but the best part was the Stasis Interrupted dlc...so underrated
@@trblemayker5157nah the multiplayer provided some of the best aliens gameplay ever. Genuinely am enjoyed the modes that were provided and wish they did more with it. Mission where you’re stripped down from all your equipment was probably the only part of the game where it felt like a genuine aliens experience. Other than that tho it was pretty bad
10 years later this trailer is still great but so painful knowing what we really got. In a strange way does make me wish they would do an another RTS.

As someone who played this game in elementary school with my cousin who I didn’t see much and played constantly and religiously. I love this game and want a sequel

Wow, what an awesome trailer!
I find it really upsetting that something that was really promising, badass, and cool like this game based on the teaser trailer had turned out to be a total disaster when it came out.
But I guess it just shows you, not all good ideas would turn out great at the end.
What was wrong with the game?
@@carsenmaxwell3336 A lot of critics and Alien fans criticized the game for the buggy AI (especially with the xenomorphs), the huge false advertising since the xenomorphs we're supposed to be the main antagonists of this video game, yet the game ended up being a Call of Duty ripoff since you fight humans instead, and how it handled the source material of the Alien franchise overall.
@@VampireFan-rf5kb i think its also was problem of "Aliens", xenomorphs turned into space bugs and were very fragile compared to Alien's xenomorph (Alien Isolation also show how indestructible xenomorph is), so devs had to do something so it wont be just Left 4 Dead but with xenomorphs. It also had fine Multiplayer i guess.
@@mrzirak792If we're following the movies and the books, Xenomorphs are normally pretty fragile, except for the big ones but even then the Xenomorphs had numbers.
@@mr.exodus3844one of the greatest things about Aliens is that it showed the xenos mortality. It made it even more realistic which made it scarier. Because things like that really could be out in the universe. There are more terrifying parasites on Earth.

Masterpiece of a trailer....
Why did this game fail to follow there promises, or take more time to work on the issues. That's what most games do. But hopefully, Alien Isolation turns out to be great, and fufill the promises the developers have made so far.

I Love this game. Have all on my steam Deck. Isolation, colonial, avp2010, dark descent, fireteam 😅😅😅 i enjoy every game of them. Very cool that scenes from this trailer are playable in dark descent 🎉
I know for a fact that it doesn't sound 'like' it, but 'IS' it. I listen to the soundtrack of that movies a few times every week, have been since the day it was released. It's good for long bus trips. hehe!

I would love to examine one of those grenades the marines use. They look like they're the size of a large bullet yet they have a rather high exlosive yeild.

It's crazy to me that it's been 11 years. I was only 16 when this trailer dropped and I remember every detail. I remember the part where the guy gets impaled and drops the grenade and everything. 11 tears from now I'll be 38 and if those 11 years go by as quick I'm in trouble.

That is a standard issue Grenade for the marines you get them in the campaign and the pulse rifle under barrel grenade launcher so yea standard issue throw grenade

This trailer is basically the bug hunt DLC game mode lol. Sp they kind of fulfilled their promise. Just not for the campaign. Thank god they at least were able to make a game mode that fit with this trailer. Just a shame the whole game wasn't like this. Would've been awesome
