Looking back, this is still one of the coolest game trailers. You've got the viking transforming into ground mode and instagattling the ultralisk, siege tank siege mode set up, closeup of ultralisk barrelling towards the terrans, the nydus worm spawning, mengsk's statue falling and to top it all off the battlecruiser falling from the sky into the ground.
Try the dwan of war intro's they are prety solid the fan made dawn of war is not dead is also awsome and battleleet gothic openings are always great to watch.

To be sure, Blizzard has given Warcraft a lot more attention than Starcraft. Three strategy game titles, plus an MMORPG with 5, soon to be 6 expansions. Much as I like Warcraft, I love my Starcraft even more and wish Blizz would show it a little more love.
Starcraft is more about the interaction between the races, so having them centered around a certain race would be cool but I'd certainly prefer a more neutral point of view, that way every movie would be even more enjoyable for people with favourite races. -

I remember playing a demo as a kid on a shareware cd where the terrans talked all deep voiced and serious like a 40k game and referred to the zerg as xenos, I dont think they mentioned anything Games Workshop related though but it felt much more grimdark.

You assume it was a guy. Viking pilots can be women too. actually mentions that Viking pilots in general are rare (due to being able to adapt to the transformation) so they'd take people regardless of gender if they were capable in one.

Honestly looking back on this and the Warcraft movie... If blizzard made a movie on starcraft, people who never heard of or played the game would enjoy the movie.
I have never played this game, RTSs has never been my forte. I freeze under duress a lot. However, I know Starcraft II lore about a well as any player. The storylines are just great, and the voicework and cinematics just add to that. The characters are also engaging, they even manage to pull character development out of the Zerg, like Zagara. Would've love to see more of her as Overqueen after the End War, heard she encounters the rogue Broodmother Niadra (a storyline everyone expected to see conclude in LotV but didn't). Dying to know what happens between the new boss and the QOB loyalist.

To be sure, Blizzard has given Warcraft a lot more attention than Starcraft. Three strategy game titles, plus an MMORPG with 5, soon to be 6 expansions. Much as I like Warcraft, I love my Starcraft even more and wish Blizz would show it a little more love.

Starcraft is more about the interaction between the races, so having them centered around a certain race would be cool but I'd certainly prefer a more neutral point of view, that way every movie would be even more enjoyable for people with favourite races. -
The part at 1:45 is so damn epic. You see the muzzleflashes of tank- and gunfire, seeing them getting overwhelmed before the tanks retreated. Damn.

I remember playing a demo as a kid on a shareware cd where the terrans talked all deep voiced and serious like a 40k game and referred to the zerg as xenos, I dont think they mentioned anything Games Workshop related though but it felt much more grimdark.

of all the cinimatics and trailers out there, I keep coming back to watch this one! It is just the epitome of epic sci-fi action. It has everything you want to see in one take, monsters, transformers, tanks, space ships, crashing, explosions, machine guns, EVERYTHING cool is here! I have yet to see anything else even come close to top this trailer/cinimatic.
This trailer was more loyal to the vision of Starship Troopers than Starship Troopers was.

Honestly looking back on this and the Warcraft movie... If blizzard made a movie on starcraft, people who never heard of or played the game would enjoy the movie.
I have never played this game, RTSs has never been my forte. I freeze under duress a lot. However, I know Starcraft II lore about a well as any player. The storylines are just great, and the voicework and cinematics just add to that. The characters are also engaging, they even manage to pull character development out of the Zerg, like Zagara. Would've love to see more of her as Overqueen after the End War, heard she encounters the rogue Broodmother Niadra (a storyline everyone expected to see conclude in LotV but didn't). Dying to know what happens between the new boss and the QOB loyalist.
