You know initially what made me suspicious about things going on within Moon studios actually started when they decided to address people who had problems with the ending both ones that either didn't like it or just felt emotional hurt from it which is completely understandable considering how awful the ending was but that's just my opinion. And the way they addressed people was just so arrogant and mean it was appalling to me. Needless to say I looked more into it and that's why I started finding out how corrupt the company was. Although the allegations of racism and sexism I didn't know about and honestly just makes me see them as bigger scumbags in comparison. I hope and pray that this game gets transferred over to newer people who are a lot more compassionate. A game this beautiful doesn't deserve to belong in people who are trying to follow blizzards business model of treating their developers. It wouldn't surprise me if the whole reason why we're not getting a definitive edition (or alternate ending but once again that's just my opinion) is because Thomas is basically holding the game's hostage at this point like an abused animal
Just to give another example apparently a lot of the other developers had a lot of problems with how the story was going in wotw. I can't reveal them here because it's spoilers for the game but there were a lot of moments including the ending that apparently a lot of the developers were against but Thomas basically said the equivalent of you either do it exactly the way I want or you can get fired which is not how you're supposed to treat your developers. They're not just your tools to be used and thrown away
Yeah, that brought up red flags for me as well, although I didn't mention it for fear of controversy. That, as well as his issues with other game devs. It is very unprofessional and makes him look like a jerk (which we now see he is.) Another thing is, I also agree that I really hope someone else gets to help continue the world of Ori, because I agree with what you said in the reply about how Thomas basically didnt even listen to the devs input.
@@zatmaggot4909 he really didn't people can have their own opinion over the ending which is fine but when you own devs have an issue with it and you basically tell them to either do it exactly your way or they're losing their job at that point you're not treating them like your coworkers you're just treating them like your tools and that's just seven levels of fucked up
Ori needs to be removed from thomas's hands. He's not suitable for the credit of Ori's success, the devs that made ori possible and what we got deserve all the love in the world.
Well... it's almost normal at this point to see these kind of things. The community would and will slide downhill even more if this continues to happen more and more frequently.
Yes, sadly so. In fact, I plan on slowly transitioning from Ori content to indie games like Haiku the Robot, Crowsworn ect. As well as Hollow Knight. Sadly, this community is dying, and I don't see much promise to stay in it much longer. It's quite sad because I've made so many friends along the way in this community, and I have so many great memories here. But nothing lasts forever, and you are right, the more this happens the more this community will die sadly enough.
Sucks how stuff like this can happen to a studio as talented as Moon Studios. Edit: Also thinking of your developers as "replaceable" is not only disrespectful and shitty, but it a stupid mentality to have if you want to continue to make good games. Take Battlefield 2042 for example, most of the old Battlefield developers have already left hence why so many basic features that are well known in the Battlefield franchise weren't present at all at launch like a damn scoreboard. Now I know that their next game isn't going to be in the Ori franchise but since it's a rpg game and the Ori games added some light RPG elements having experienced developers learning on the right track on how to implement that stuff is vital.
I hope somehow, someway moon loses the Ori ip and it lands in more compassionate hands. And can at some point can you make a fan made revision of the Ori story? Give it the love and compassion moon never gave it.
Always thought of that, it's honestly weird that such a bad person could be behind an amazing game Can we separate Ori from those 2 people, like we want separate J.K. Rowling from HP lol, because I would be down
Yes, I don't want to associate those 2 jerks with such wonderful games either. So many people out of Moon did put love into those games, despite Thomas Mahler and Korol. You are right.
This game deserves more. Its my favorite game
100% agree with this one.
Damn this is really sad. Ori is my favorite game and that hasn't changed. But it is sad to hear
Yes, Ori's my favorite game, and that hasn't changed for me either. And I agree, it is very sad news.
I really want to cry, after i saw what hapened to Ori's developers. This franchise deserves more love. Microsoft please, to something with it!
Same, I hope Microsoft puts Ori in better hands now.

@multiverseguy88 oh definitely more than anything else I can be certain on that now

Ori deserves to end up in the hands of people who actually care about the property or hell at the very least care about the developers
Ori needs to be removed from thomas's hands. He's not suitable for the credit of Ori's success, the devs that made ori possible and what we got deserve all the love in the world.
I couldn't agree more here. Thomas is a cruel person, but the love that the devs put into this game shines threw Thomas and Korol's cruelness.

@multiverseguy88 I am still shocked, but looking back I see how it makes sense now.

Definitely agree here. If you want someone who is talented, keep the talents you have, because they have the experience as well.

Good news (i think): Microsoft owns the IP, not Moon
I do like this idea, I will start planning one.
@@MordtheMystic I honestly don't know either, but I hope you are right.
Update: I looked this up and Microsoft owns the ip thank goodness!
@Zatmaggot now that Moon doesn't own Ori anymore, would feel more comfortable getting in Ori?
