The simplicity of this meditation really helped me let go of the idea of 'doing it wrong' and allowed me to actually achieve the desired state. Thank you for this time!
I’ve been doing this mediation off & on .. today I choose to keep my meditation practice at a consistent pace. I love the simplicity of this meditation. I love when you say “thoughts will come” .. it gives me a sense of peace. Knowing that it’s ok to have thoughts during meditation, … i love it.
Thank you. Have had an emotional few days with a very unwell, much loved cat who is unexpected to survive today .Feel so much calmer and settled after this 20 minute meditaion
Thank you Jason. I’m only now seeing and listening to your videos. I’m on 5 of The Art of Effortless Living. Thank you so much for making thes videos and sharing the Way, the natural effortless way. My life and mind have been very tumultuous and now “pandemic.” I have joined rallies and convoys and live with someone who’s family have all follow science matter. I need to practice “live and let live” And meditation. I have sat in two Vipassana courses and served on one yet sadly have not maintained the daily practice. Thank you for being here. :))
Thank you so much I am new to Zen meditation helped a lot I did not know it is only done in mornings and only concentrating on the exhale of breathe like waterfall … very interesting… Namadia
Wow! So very helpful. I never realized how only following the exhale can be more effective at clearing away my thoughts - or, maybe it was your method of facilitation. Either way, I'm very grateful. Thank you!
Jason I thoroughly enjoyed your Zen meditation guidance I was able to have a good morning continuing to lift to press follow and release and it was amazing how the interactions with the day started much validation very gracious thank you
Ive been doing unguided mostly but every once and awhile i love thrse because i dong have time to actually find a sangha or people that will meditate with me
@@JasonGregoryAuthor Amy time of day will work. I tend to hear a lot of people practice first thing in the morning. I personally practice in the evening combined with a short mental note of things I’m grateful for that day.
Thank you for this video. I’m a newbie in this field and I felt a bit insecure about the way I was doing it. With your video, I’ve been able to concentrate so well, I feel great.
I sat to meditate on my own for twenty minutes a few days ago only to discover at the end that I had been meditating for an hour. It was a great experience. Meditation is much more enjoyable and fruitful for me now. Thank you. Would you elaborate on or address what you mean when you say the exhale is the master? Is it because it's a process of letting go of what doesn't serve you after inhaling the good stuff? Thank you again. Happy I found you.
Hi Jason, I like the simplicity of this medication. I feel like my brain has been gone over with a Vacuum Cleaner. I am now ready fot the day. On another topic, i have started reading "I Am That" simple read and loaded with wisdom, at least so far. Thanks Brother for stimulating my desire to learn more. Your work has really been encouraging.
Haha, maybe it is medication brother haha. I knew what you meant. I'm so glad you enjoy this meditations simplicity. Sometimes the simple meditations are the best. Love that you're inspired to learn more. Music to my ears.
Awesome! I will do this meditation every day in quiet darkness of very early morning, long before sun rises. Thank you for great gift brother! Bernardo.
I love this guided meditation, just what i needed! But for some reason, not always but when I’m more stressed, I can’t do it sitting - I can’t follow the exhalation unless I’m lying down. Why is that?
Nice video👍🏼. But how can I really take care of the breath(i.e counting the exhalations) should I have to exhale fully in a way that my stomach will go inside during the exhalation process🤔?
Morning I practice 40 minutes to an hour and today I try to do they only did 26 minutes and I irritable so I'm going to do a session with you I've been practicing for 6 months now steadily every morning
Namaste The upanishads which are a part of Vedas declare that there is only One and to realize this Oneness of all life is the ultimate purpose of life. Every moment we breath, nature reminds us of this truth as each incoming breath resonates to Sah referring to He and outgoing breath to Ham referring to I (The Sanskrit words are split as Sah and Aham and its conjuction is Soham) Every time we breath , we can tune ourselves to this ultimate reality of Oneness by remembering Soham. This is called Ajapa Gayatri and is on an average chanted 21600 times in a day Sah represents Parvati as it is the incoming , introverted energy denoting creation and Ham represents Shankara , the outgoing , masculine energy denoting dissolution. Thus the masculine and feminine , Shiva and Parvati , together denote completion of life. The Yoga Chudamani Upanishad mentions that this eternal chant is itself capable of giving salvation upon constant attention and reflection. Thanks.
Sir can you please explain a bit that how do we exactly follow the breath down down down while exhalation. Do we need to follow the breath while exhalation interiorly or externally??
Nope, you over generalized Zen without taking into consideration the different schools. If you've been to a Zen monastery you would know the differences and at times a master will guide, especially at the beginning of zazen. Please be mindful in the future before incorrectly commenting on such subjects. Remember, this is my field and I teach the actual traditions.
Thank you love you brather

Jason, a question. What does “follow your exhalation down” mean? I wasn’t sure what to do there. This was very relaxing otherwise, thank you.

Why de don't exhale from mouth ?
Zen meditation is quiet meditation, guiding kind of is not the way of Zen. You receive instructions and then go by yourself.

Felt like 5 minute..
I thought zen was deliberately useless ie. not seeking anything including peace? or are there different schools of zen.
Guided Zen? Hmmmm…
Loved this practice so much. Thank you
