Good buy. I have the white one, the PA60 from Jabao (same as Jecod) but mine is really loud. But it's only to clean the easypod so just on for 10 minutes at the time.
I always thought that the Charles Austen were quiet so I am glad you said they are as I was looking at one.

I thought the PA Jecod's are supposed to be fairly quiet?
Most of the lads that have them say they are very quiet, or maybe you have very acute hearing 😁
The ET80 sounded like a jet engine when it was new, but the noise soon quietened down after a few weeks.
It's not too bad now, but you can hear a deep reverberating hum when it's running...
The PA's are just a slightly lower maximum pascal pressure pump than the MA Jecod.
0.035 Mpa for the PA 60 versus 0.045Mpa for the MA100/120.
But they output more air than the eqivalent MA's at a meter or shallower.🙂

@@DavesKoiPond ah I see. Useful info. Yeah I got this one after being recommended but I can't use it as a permanent air pump. May be it was a bad batch, it happens I guess but I couldn't be bothered to send it back. It's the white and blue one I have.
Are you still pleased with the air curtain? I like the idea of it.

@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection It might just need the diaphragm's refitting...
A mate replaced his diaphragm's on his PA when they were broken and said it was really noisey when he turn it back on.
He thought he may have not aligned it properly.
This was the only video I could find showing a diaphragm replacement for the Jecod PA.
I don't understand a word...😁 but you might get the gist of it by watching...🙂
      th-cam.com/video/DJMvKQtb8WQ/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, I still love the air curtain, 👍
A much more gentle way of adding aeration without the washing machine effect of the bottom drain 😂
I still like to use the BD air strongly, as the water currents really perk the fish up a bit when it's on.
But I don't think the fish like it all the time, bit like exercising then having a rest afterwards lol 😄

Quick question. Where do you get your black speedfit pipe and fittings from ? Thanks.

      Hi,
I use John Guest or DMfit 12mm push fit fittings,
and 12mm LLDPE pipe that you can get in various colours including black.👍
commonly available from some caravan/camping shops, finch filtration, Vyair, or ebay. 🙂

Hi Dave. Another first class upload. Have you ever found or heard anyone saying that the air domes on the bottom drains block, when not in use? Thank you

    • @DavesKoiPond
      @DavesKoiPond  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate 🙂
I suppose they could get crap stuck in the holes, but because they are a rubber sheet and inflate when pressurised,
I'd imagine that the holes would stretch a bit and blow any rubbish that gets in there out...
I've not had mine block up, even though the dome gets crap on the top when not in use, as soon as I put the air on it blows it all off...
Though I could see them blocking up with constant use though, as scale might form where the air and water meet.
Or if you get blanket weed or algae growing into the holes...

      Thanks Carol, 🙂
The ET80 was just on some packing foam with a towel underneath at the start of the video.
But at the end of the video I used some 54mm x 25mm rubaflex Class O pipe insulation I had left over...same stuff as armaflex lagging only cheaper.
it's actually brilliant at isolating and damping the air pumps because it's firm enough to support the heavy pumps,
but also.... 'squidgy' (is the best way I can describe it 😄) enough so that it dampens the vibrations.
I just cut a couple of pieces 10" long for both pumps and opened it out flat.

you can also get armaflex class O as flat sheets too but it's a bit more expensive...

Not a straight comparison. I would have liked a et 100 against an MA 100 comparison. Looks great though and certainly more air. Curtain looks great , thinking of setting one up myself.

I think they are better matched than the ET100 V's MA100 as they have a very similar wattage.
The ET100 would probably spank an MA100 but the ET100 has a higher actual wattage.
The chinese brands like Jecod do a have a slight habit of over rating things 😄

      No problem 🙂
The pipe and fittings are 12mm black speedfit, pipe is 12mm LLDPE.
john guest and dmfit make them.
You can buy from ebay shops like 'rebel leisure' or 'spring clear' also vyair, finch filtration, and some caravan shops sell it.
