    Wow, I mean, just wow. Like how your mind works, the organization, the attention to details, the practicality of weight reduction, and especially the colors. OMG, the colors! This proves that you dont have to exist in bland wood tones. What I noted was how the gloss finishes really help to bounce the light around making it look light and airy. You hit all my goals- minimize weight, open, uncluttered while colorful. Such an exciting change from the shabby chic or wood hunting lodge that is so common on YT. Have to admit sir that I will be referencing your video when my build begins. You hit it out of the park.

    I watch a lot of cargo - to- campervan videos and yours is one of the best. The others seem so crowded with cabinets sticking out at the top and hardly any space to walk. You achieved your goal, it truly looks open and airy and spacious. And the Moroccan colors and themes are very beautiful. Congratulations on creating a livable work of art!

    Dear friend: Thank you sooooo much for sharing your incredible cargo trailer build! You are the closest thing I've found so far to what is similar to what I've got and what I'm looking to achieve. I am so grateful to find you! I'm a 60 yr. old woman with some technical, mechanical, artistic, and woodworking skills looking to achieve a build like yours. You really impressed me with your work and design details, specially with the important systems you put together. KUDOS!!! My trailer is only 6'x11' by 6-6" high with V-nose too. My dream is to use my trailer for multipurpose - - for emergency, for my work as a multimedia photographer and drone pilot. I desire to also boondock like you've done and be very comfortable like a mini home and office away from home. I sure would love to request your assistance if that is possible concerning your electrical, solar and plumbing details, particularly to begin my shopping list of parts. I do have some electronics background also to be able to execute what you've done, but seeking more advanced guidance in this area of a solar system setup. Would really appreciate your consideration. I would love to start with the list of things to buy for the solar and electrical components. Thank you again, and I hope to meet your acquaintance. Great job on your channel!!! 😊❤😊

    Very well thought out. I don't have a trailer anymore, but putting small fans near a window is something I still do even in my house. I'm not a fan of the colors, but it's tastefully done looks like you thought of almost everything. That's how I would've done my bathroom, too, with a circular curtain and some kind of tub to step into, if I ever decide to build one. I don't like using curtains under counters, but you made it work and I'll have to remember that. : ) I like the spacious feel, too.

    One of your points you emphasised was keeping weight down - what was the before and after?
    One of my a main concerns is tongue weight. I am thinking of doing movable counter tops/kitchen to put the weight back over the wheels during travelling. This will also help me serve me to convert it back to cargo to hall my aircraft back and forth from the airfield and other cargo hauling stuff when no camping.
    Cheers

    • @trailhouse9706
      @trailhouse9706  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trailer weighed 1200 lbs before the conversion. It is now less than 1800 lbs. Regarding the dual functionality of your trailer, I suggest you move the kitchen to the nose keep it permanent and light due to its many components especially if you plan on having running water which I strongly recommend. You can keep the TV side with the vertical storage and the water tank sitting on the axle. This will reduce the width of the trailer by only 10 inches. You can keep the bed on the other side like mine for weight distribution but make it removable. I remove my bed to use my trailer to haul things as well, but you will have more cargo space. I hope all goes well. Thx

    Fantastic build; I'm most curious about the fan in the floor and I've decided to do the same, but what is that called? What's the diameter? I bought 2 of those same computer fans already but am keen on how to search for the PVC hardware. Can you point me in the right direction?
    Thanks for sharing!

      Not sure if anyone has answered you yet. I too like that idea and will probably incorporate it in my tramper. I believe… I have seen these in another video for a guy who does ice fishing (or something like that???). So anyway, I’m thinking I’ll look in a he big box sporting good stores and see what I find. Now a screen would have to be figured out… but that should be easy enough. Hope this helps you, my mind is racing also to figure this out😅!

      @@scottsimpkins350 I'll be looking forward to your findings! I'm just a tad surprised he didn't list it in his caption, as I'm sure it was hard for him to find in the first place. I picked up a standard screw-cap that would be perfect if it had a screen and was flush mounted, along with a 3" screen trap that has no flange, so I can use both together to somewhat duplicate the effect, but it requires installing it and screwing it in every time and it isn't flush mounted. I have yet to drill the hole in the floor yet, but I'm also installing a 1 inch thick rubber cattle stall floor (available in 6 ft by 4 ft, three pieces together will fill the main floor in a 6x12 cargo trailer, with some trimming) and I want to make sure I have that finished before I work on the hole, which will be permanent.

      @@dondep hope your build is going well! I’m planning mine, and want to add a floor vent as well; search for Beckson marine deck plate covers I’m pretty sure that’s what he used, need to customize w screens of course

      @@mertonallowicious Great tip, thanks! Bookmarked a few just now. Some time ago I picked up a 4" screw-cap, but it wasn't flush enough. However, I've now started to put in 1- inch thick rubber cattle-stall flooring, which has given me another inch to deal with. Waiting for enough warm weather to finish installing it to determine my final plan. I think what I got is intended for a dryer vent or some plumbing terminus but at least the thing I got has a screen in it. I actually got one screw cap, and then one insert that has the screen in it. This looks like a much better option if a screen can be fashioned that is sturdy enough, aside from the fact that it might be too flush with the flooring that I have. Still a work-in-progress.

    This has got to be my favorite cargo trailer conversion. Do you have any issues with weight distribution for towing? I saw someone say it takes them a long time to move things around so it will tow properly which makes it great when staying in one spot but a pain to pack up and move constantly. Also is dealing with a black water tank really a huge hassle for people? I’m kind of treating that as a necessity considering the specific people I’d like to take with me. Draining a tank with a hose seems way more desirable to me than manually dumping everything constantly.

    • @trailhouse9706
      @trailhouse9706  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.. The weight distribution is not an issue for me as it was a very important step of the design process. I used my engineering background in Supply Chain and Logistics to eliminate any design flaws. My trailer is so well balanced that I don't even feel it behind me at higher speed. It's not rocket science but it should be taken into consideration from the start. Just buy most of your heavy items and design your camper around them. Most people do the opposite. It's not a house where things come standards like appliances, toilets...etc. My two heaviest items are the bed and the fresh water tank and they sit on each side of the axle. The center of my trailer is empty and everything is near the side walls for a great counter balance when taking curves or avoiding a collision and I really don't do any packing. As far as the black tank. I did not want one. From experience, It is a hassle to handle and they all smell no matter what they claim. It's not fun to store and travel with poop smoothy. The black tank gets used couple of minutes a day. On the other hand, the Grey tank gets used all day to cook, clean and shower while protecting the environment. I use a modified portable dry toilet used by the military with horse pellets for both number 1 and 2 at the same time and move the bag to a 5 gallon sealed bucket outside the camper. I hope I answered your questions and thank you again for watching my video. Good luck with your build
