    There used to be an urban myth about casinos pumping pure oxygen into the air, so having the lotus flowers being mixed into the air was a neat touch.

      I liked that touch too

    Y’all’s talk about why the villain would want the hero to succeed in their current quest reminds me of a line from a villain. Don’t remember where I read it, but it goes, “Of course I told the heroes about my rival’s plan. Why do something myself when I can have the righteous heroes do it for me?”

    Just to clarify, they are all 12 year old kids. Even though Grover is 24, a Satyr ages different than humans, so hes the equivalent of a 12 year old.
    Kinda like how elves in dnd arent adults till they are 60 years old.

      I understand. I was Frieren or Miss Martian Man Hunter. My logic uses calendar years for age so he’s 24 though he is comparable to a human at 12 mentally.

      @@YaBoyRockLee That's spot on. Which sending kids on deadly missions is just another terrible Greek god thing lol

    28:10 Funny that you say you see Poseidon as Ariels father because Ariels father is Triton and Triton is a son of Poseidon.

    You might be interested to know that the book handled the casino pretty differently. There, they didn't know what it was and just went inside to rest for the night. They all got got by the gas and only managed to break out because Percy had a conversation with a guy who told him the year was 1977, which he knew was wrong. When they got out, it was the day before the solstice.
    The show made them go there for a specific reason -- to find Hermes and get him to help. Which means that they were more easily clued in to the nature of the place. Personally I like the inclusion of Hermes because his scene was really interesting and we got some good lore out of it. Basically, the show went a different route to reach (almost) the same conclusion, just with more plot instead of simply getting brainwashed. It's kids thinking they're more indestructible than they are, I guess, to think they have all the information and that they're strong enough to resist temptation. Which is funny considering that Percy immediately says he wants to stay a while the second they walk in the doors lol

      @YaBoyRockLee further clarification. There was no gas in the book.
      The casino was simply incredible. They received infinite money credit cards(later had to sacrifice), unlimited food and drink of any kind they wished for, so many impossible attractions, rides, events, games and activities that I can't blame a 12 year old for forgetting their mission. I wouldn't even blame someone with extreme discipline because of how insane it was. Each person basically had everything they could ever want

      @@bryangarcia5207 Fair, but there is gas implied. As they stand at the entrance to the casino, Percy mentions smelling lotus flowers coming from inside. So although the characters aren't aware of the gas, it still seems to be there.

    Hermes isn't the strongest but he is a trickster and the other gods are ablittle scared of him. He gets away with tons of nonsense in the myths.

  • @midoriya-shonen
    @midoriya-shonen 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Hm, I don't know if I would say that any particular god is more or less strong than Zeus just because he's the one in charge. It's more like they just have different strengths. For example, imagine Aphrodite, goddess of love, were to use her godly powers to make Zeus fall in love with somebody (like that's never happened lol). Once he's under her influence, any number of things could happen, including her taking his throne while he's distracted etc. And if he ate the fruit of the Underworld like Persephone did, he'd be trapped down there just like she was. Zeus is very powerful yes, but he's only king because he, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots in the beginning to decide their domains. It could've been any of them, yk?

    • @bryangarcia5207
      @bryangarcia5207 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes and no in PJO. While that may be true in the beginning, because of his status as king he is rhe strongest but the strongest can still bleed

      @@bryangarcia5207 Right. He's very strong, but those who are "beneath" him can still land hits the way that those who were "beneath" Kronos were still able to chop him to bits.

      He's also the leader bc even though he's the youngest of the first gods, he's the one that saved the rest by making Kronos puke them out and then led them all to victory. Seems fair.

      I gotta disagree. I thought they did it amazingly well. The movie was the adult version of the casino, this is the kids version. And I think it's really a nice touch that anyone that walks in can instantly forget since the Lotus is in the air. Sets up a lot of things later that people together remember more too

      yeah agreed. the vibe was totally off. too expositional. so much tell not show. ending the deadline rendered it useless and it really grinds my gears. they're portraying all olympian parents as terrible while justifying/humanizing poseidon more than be deserves (hvnt seen ep7 I'll admit) also i love percabeth as much as the next person but they're sacrificing story for the ship n i dont like that

      @@lilbrownbear dude you don’t even know what gonna happen now that they changed it so how did that make you mad if it’s not all the way explained yet ..💀💀 also in the books this isn’t that important like nothing happens and of course “exposition” y’all call everything exposition how would you one explain stuff to percy and two explain something to ppl who’s never read the books info about the gods . Like and the only reason why you think they’re sacarficing their “relationship” is because you already know it’s gonna happen all there doing is building a relationship between them you’re obviously gonna see it romantically cause you know what’s gonna happen yall kill me 😭😭 like you already know stuff in the books so of course you’re gonna be like “show don’t tell” but when they they do show and not tell ppl end up confused 🤷🏾‍♀️ also in the books there’s also exposition it’s just less because we see percy’s inner monologue . think about how they have to do things different with a short amount of time but also get key details out there like omg

      The only thing that annoyed me was that this was yet another time they knew exactly what they were up against, while in the book they had to guess every time. Would have liked to see them slowly figure it out for once
