Travis I have really enjoyed our chocolate cherry sunflowers we purchased from yall. My husband and I live in NC and lost all our sunflowers last week. The hurricane took them all down to the ground. I was heart broken. But they are still blooming on the ground, it's amazing. I made arrangements and have them sitting all around our house. Not sure how much longer they will continue to bloom but they are some of the most beautiful sunflowers I have ever seen. Definitely purchasing them again.

Glad you're enjoying them and sorry to hear about the storm. Ours are just now starting to bloom big here.

Tissue culture...im gonna have to look into that. The figs are def easy to root for more trees or to share with friends. Do yall grow muscadines or scuppernogs? Im impatiently awaiting my grapes..love them so much!

We've got about 100' long muscadine vine that is very productive. Always a good treat in late summer!

    What about those Lacy Phacilias?

They seem to germinate better in slightly cooler soils. We had a hard time getting them to germinate as well in the middle of the summer. But many of our customers that planted them farther north did very well.

I have your chocolate cherry sunflowers just started for my fall crop. Also, my cinder jalapenos are doing great!

Great info as always! How did the thornless blackberries do? I’m debating the blackberries or blueberries here in z7.

Doing great. Just pruned them a couple weeks ago to promote more of a bushy growth.

I can see why you prefer growing your figs from cuttings rather than tissue culture, because your plant has a head start and gets to fruiting size a lot faster. Actually, though, both methods produce clones of the mother plant. I'm a retired botanist and used to do tissue culture in the lab, working exclusively with callous and suspension cultures. I can see why the plant producers choose tissue culture because they can produce a heck of a lot of plants from just one cutting. And, they can sell their plants at a lower price. For a gardener it's a choice of quick return or lower cost. Also, stem cuttings are so easy to trade among gardeners who want a collection of different varieties without the need for specialized equipment and chemicals.

What do you do with all the seeds from your cover crops? How do you keep it from adding to your seed bank?

Hey Travis, I'm new to growing onions and all ways thought you planted them in the spring. I'm in Clarksville Tn. zone 7b and was wondering should I start them late Oct. From one of your videos I noticed I should be planting short day onions (never would have known without y'all so thank you for that nugget). I just received the creole onion seeds from Y'all and wanted to know what sweet onion you might recommend me trying? Thanks for all Y'all do, learning daily!!!

If you're in Tennessee, you're probably better waiting to plant them in the spring. Onions can tolerate temps down to 20 degrees. If you get much colder than that, overwintering is not really a great option. We rarely get cold down here, so overwintering is best for us. We'll soon be adding many more sweet onion varieties in the next month or two.

When rooting a fig stem, do you do it in water or dirt? Water until roots form?
