These two marrying other people could have been good alliances.
Oh for sure would have locked up a victory for the Greens.
At the same time it was all about appearances.
The kings eldest son, Aegon having a sister-wife and heir named Jaehaerys was picture perfect from an outside perspective.
When you compared them pound for pound to Rhaenyra, with her flamboyantly gay husband and obvious bastards it is clear which bloodline is “better” suited for the Targaryen line.
@DanLanningPRTeam A seriously stupid take, though. Aegon could have had a son called Jaehaerys with any other woman, a Lannister, a Tully, even a Tyrell, and the kid would have been trueborn.
@@juliancain3872This is a terrible take, traditionally a Targeyan king takes a sister wife like aegon the conquer, the greens are meant to appear as the greater branch bc they have a heir named after the conquer and his son named after the second greatest ruler and a sister wife like most Targeyan rulers, the greens also have the crown and lived in crown lands and have the sword blackfyre almost every great symbol of house Targaryen. Another note against how he could have been with anyone but that's not true bc baelon breakspear the son of daeron the good in the dunk and egg novellas had heavy prejudice held against him for his tan skin and dark hair, daeron married for alliance but his child didn't look the part and the people were split into another civil war with the blackfyres bc he looked the part and held a important symbol the blackfyre sword. So now do you get why just marrying into a different family could have destroyed one of there symbols of rightful rulership
@Paranoidpedantic The prejudice against Baelor was because he looked "Dornish" people didn't like the Dornish, their inclusion was still new to the Kingdom at the time, and during the Dunk and Egg series, the Targaryens had no dragons. Another thing, Jaehaerys and Alysanne married their son Aemon to their dark-haired half-sister, Jocelyn. Aemon was the Prince of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne, I'm sure they knew that any child they had, even if it was a boy, had the very real possibility of having black hair.
That’s the point of the video 🤷♀️
And Alicent was mad about Daemon and Rhaenyra? Lmaoooo
🎶 Hypocrisy 🎶
It is shown in both the book and the show that Alicent isnt all there. Not a hypocrite but bat shit crazy. She started all this because she believed Rhaenyra would kill her and her children. When in reality she would have never done such a thing had Alicent just stayed in her lane.

thats what they do in ancient time. They didnt want mix blood
Idk, it just seems really fitting for this world and it has a realistic touch. Most royal families spread across the world, at least the famous ones, did it. I think Japanese royalty even did half siblings occasionally? It’s definitely weird now that this isn’t a norm though, but I think it’s fine for a fantasy story
GOT universe is incomplete without incestion.
There was 4 simple solutions to prevent the dance:
1- Viserys stayed single after Aemas death because he already had an heir and no-one could challenge Rhaenyra's claim
2-Viserys did his duty and married Laena as it was proposed to strengthen the house instead of marrying a Hightower for his pleasure then forcing his daughter to marry her gay cousin so the Velaryon won't feel betrayed
3-He acceptes Otto's proposal to marry Rhaenyra and Aegon so both Rhaenyra and the Hightower were happy
4-Alicient accepted Rhaenyra's proposal to marry Jace and Haelena. Jace was a far better husband that Aegon could ever be, it was an alliance between the green and the black because Jace's was Rhaenyra's heir and Hightower's blood would still be on the throne with sweet Haelena
Number 2 is wrong, the other 3 are fine , if he marry Laena and she has a son , the Dance will happen non the less
I think we can all agree number three is horrible
@@LorelleJustice Why ? Aegon doesn't want to be king so he will spend his time doing nothing while Rhaynera could rule ,if she is that what she really wants ( in the books you can either say that she takes bad fiscal measures ,or that she put somebody else to do her job , who takes bad fiscal measures )
Laenor is just Aegon but with other name , and incapable of having childrens , and Daemond is worst than both
If Viserys had a male heir with Laena the dance would've happened anyway but with the Velaryons starting it when Viserys died instead
In the books King Viserys married his 1st wife when she was like 11 and he was 16. Book marriages can be super uncomfortable like I get it people married younger in medieval times, but still like when someone can't remember who married a baby for political reasons.
Aemma was 11. Viserys was 16.
@archmaester6594 thank you I couldn't remember
Most of human existence we have had children in our teen years.
I believe the most common was 14/15 for girls and 15/16 for boys or about 50% to 60% of the population. The next common was girls in their early to mid teens to men in their early to mid 30s.
The Spartans took a particular interest in it and found that for the best offspring and survivability of the woman, possible was woman at 18 to 21 was to start having kids/ getting married obviously to men in their 30s.
Edit: Let's have a look over the last 2,000 years in Europe.
Woman on average, started having children at 15 they had 7 to 10 kid's along with 7 to 10 miscarriages / child deaths so roughly over the last 2,000 year's, they had 14 to 21 years of fertility/ windo to have the children, having children at 35+ could happen but it was rare.
It was tyrek lannister he was 11
@italianodblaugrana3842 it was the horse Lannister? Thanks for reminding me.
Giving away children to marriages outside the family is one way to basically give away dragons too. Just look no further than House Velaryon, they're not the royal family, but they at least have 3 dragons.
Exactly. Also if their blood gets too diluted they won’t be able to control the dragons anymore. It’s their Valyrian blood that makes them able to control dragons somewhat
How does no one see this?! Three dragons, a naval fleet and a shitload of money. The fuck?! They aren't even mentioned by many people. And....they are Valyrian! But, Tully's and Stark's are above them? Come on now.
Exactly. People don't realise that any Targ is extremely valuable to any family because of their dragon DNA, just one dragon is enough to take over and usurp, really.
@@LumosnightNo one can really control dragons they still do what they want it was proved when Luke died
@@TH-cam_Street_Drifterthat probably has more to do with Vhagar herself than dragons in general. She is a giant, ancient creature, much harder to wield.
It's a good point, by marrying Aegon, Helaena, Aemond and Daeron to the heirs of other great houses the greens would have put half of Westeros on their side with that alone (Not to mention the support they could gain by other means), but it was an order of Viserys to marry Aegon and Helaena to each other, and it was probably also his order not to seek a wife for Aemond and Daeron in order to limit the power and alliances of the greens and facilitate the path to the throne for Rhaenyra (Who doesn't was striving to establish alliances on her own beyond the alliance with the Velaryon), so Viserys probably wasn't as stupid as we all thought.
then why have 3 more children after aegon if he actually planned all that, if his goal was to not put obstacles infront of rheanyra?
@@mesa577 I said he probably wasn't as stupid as we thought, but he's still pretty stupid, he obviously implemented that measure after realizing too late that his children and Rhaenyra were rivals.
Furthermore, Viserys was a man, it was inevitable that he would have more children, only he was so delusional as to think that he wouldn’t have more children after Aemma died.
The Targaryens already goofed by letting hightower into their family. Giving Targaryen children to all the other great houses and dragons would have just pushed the dance of dragons further down the line.
@@Michael-bc3es There was no problem with other houses being within the Targaryen family circle, as long as it was handled correctly everything would be fine, the Targaryens really goofed up by choosing Viserys as king, that was the big flaw, a weak and negligent king who let the seeds of war will germinate uncontrollably because he doesn't know how to manage his family and the kingdom.
@@edgarrojas5060 once his shitty sone was born he should have declared him the heir. If he had of there wouldn't of been a civil war. Jace was illegitimate so that couldn't work
No. Jace is still a bastard and his claim was always going to be in question. He even understands that if Rhaenyra dies then the realm would still bleed to put a trueborn son on throne.
Also that's an insult to Heleana and the hightowers. A bastards, even a royal one is still a bastard. It's not modern times. I think fans forget that the people in the A song of ice and fire universe have entire religions; both the old and new gods, portray bastards and the act of sex outside of marriage as evil, created from lust.
Rhaenyra set Jace and his other brothers up to fail and she ultimately made it worst by giving Daemon 2 true born sons.
@@sadfaerie5817It's thinking like this that makes HOTD fanfiction. Neither the fans nor the writers ever take into account that GRRM universe has unique rules, histories, and such that makes it different from the one we live in.
Jace liking Heleana has never been proven? He dances with her but his character was acting out of pity and malice towards her husband. In that scene Jace is no better than "nice guys" who asks out the weird girl because it makes them look good. But because of fanfiction and fan edits, that context goes away.

And yis probably the first time they heard that people got married and had children earlier before.
I know omg
The issue that I find with them gaining alliance with House Arryn is the fact that Rhaenyra’s mother Aemma was from House Arryn- and I honestly doubt they would have joined the Greens for any reason like that; it would be like House Hightower joining the Blacks
And what was going on in the Vale was what would happen in the realm-proper, in microcosm - Lady Jeyne spent most of her life defending her rights, to rule & choose her own heir-- she *understood* what Rhaenyra was facing- because _she_ faced it first.
And other than the Stark loyalty to their sworn oath- Cregan *_also_* experienced something similar; while he didn't have to face the gender issue, he did still have to fight back against usurpation.
I agree- the Vale & the North were always going to be on Rhaenyra's side.
But I bet the Greens were surprised when the Reach didn't 💯% take their side, & splintered - guess they should have thought a bit more thoroughly about their choices... *_House Beesbury says 'Hello', & also 'F6ck the Greens...'_*
@@OcarinaSapphr-Greens>>>Whore Princess
Viserys really messed up by letting almost every member of hos family have dragons.
Jaehaerys had several children but only 3 of them became riders. He was very strict and careful about it. Jaehaerys and Alysanne of course kept their dragons from their youth, but the only ones among their children they allowed to have dragons were Aemon the crown-prince, Baelon, the spare, and Alyssa, the crown-princess who was marrying within the family anyway.
Funny is that Alicent is the one offering Aegon's hand in marriage to Rhaenyra, showing that Alicent has a say in her son's marriage affairs. Not so different with how Queen Consorts had been arranging marriages and feasts as their power over the household.
Not less, this ignores that when Helaena's marriage is mentioned in the books it is pointed that "all agreed she would make a fine ."
Also, that their marriage pleased the faction of the Greens instead of the Blacks. "Prince Aegon had heirs of his own now, the greens at court proclaimed happily"
The Vale had a blood tie to Rhaenyra from her mother. Aemma Arryn was the daughter of Princess Daella Targaryen, daughter of King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne, and her father was Rodrick Arryn. Add the blood tie in with Aemma’s horrible death and how quickly Viserys and Alicent married, there was no way the Vale would have sided with the Greens over Rhaenyra. The Tyrells and the Riverlands sure, but the Vale was not going to go for anyone but Black. The best the Greens could hope was that the Vale would stay Neutral, but the Lady Of The Vale was Rhaenyra’s cousin, so that was not going to happen.
But Daemon's first wife was from the Vale and they think he killed her. (Which he did most likely)
So would they really side with the Blacks still?
@@may.k_me in the end they followed their Lord Paramount. In the Vale you either fall in line or fall out of the moon door.

@@may.k_me they would, because it was Rhaenyra for the throne, not Daemon.

This video was titled "why Aegon married his sister". It literally didn't explain the reason why he married his sister.
Having Aegon marry Helaena was done out of spite. Alicent didn't care if they were happy or miserable.
How do you say I’ve never read the books therefore don’t actually understand the true story line without saying I’ve never read the books therefore don’t actually understand the true story line🤣
imo if viserys was rly all about peace (and rhaenyra being heir) like he said, he should've married the green kids to the black kids. these inward marriages and betrothals just furthered the divide between fractions. idk if they could ever truly reconcile, but i imagine they'd be at least somewhat civil w each other. also bothers me that aegon seemingly wasn't prepared to rule at all?? like if the greens wanted to sway viserys' opinion, they should've at least invested in aegon's education and character??
Why? Because they’re Targaryens. It’s what they do.
Even Dani was drawn to her nephew in the show.
Aye, senses his Valyrian blood. Stark and Targaryen is a hell of a combo though, with the Starks warging abilities. Really wish they kept Jon’s warging in the show. Can you imaging, him warging into a dragon?!!
Viserys should have arranged Rhaenyra and Aegon to marry when he came of age
Huge respect for House Stark who didn't demand anything in return and just honoured their oath.
This Morality of them immediately puts other great houses FAR BELOW them.
They wed them together have as much Targaryan blood within their union and as high of a possibility that their children would be Dragon tamers. Look at House Velaryon: Their mother was a Targaryan, both parents of the blood of Old Valyria and yet only one could ride a dragon. Who needs soldiers when they could have dragons on their side
Actually, both were riders. Laenor rode Seasmoke, and Laena eventually rode Vhagar
All of the Velaryon children except Rhaena rode dragons. Laenor, Laena, and Baela. I mean, Laena had vhagar for goodness sake!! The most ancient and powerful of all living dragons. Velaryon is the blood of old Valyria. Just bc their ancestors were not dragon tamers doesn’t mean their Valyrian blood doesn’t predispose them to dragon riding. They still have the touch.
Why are you the only one saying this because it's the truth! Took so long to find this comment. Everything we know about their house is Keep the Blood PURE that's why they always married in the family!
"even though she was ugly, she had twins a year later" lmfao dude
I feel like, whenever they say a Targaryen isn't "beautiful" their standards are skewed 😂. Like, to me, the "average" Targaryen/Valyrian is almost otherworldly. So when GRRM decides to have his Targ/Targ adjacent characters describe one of them as "unattractive" they're probably still ^very^ attractive by our standards lmao.

What many people don't understand is that it was completely normal in the middle Ages to marry relatives to maintain the bloodline. Especially families like the Targaryens who have a special bloodline.
In anceient Egypt it was common not in the Middle Ages, that was cousin or uncle niece not brother sister

No such thing as a special blood, just in a better position of power and wealth. But post Christianity, (and before it) most of Europe was against sibling/sibling, father/daughter, mom/son, uncle/niece, aunt/nephew fucking. We know this as many were actually jailed and executed for doing such. Among other evidence pointing to Europeans general disapproval of these acts. Cousin/cousin has been more accepted throughout history and is still apart of some cultures today.
Even with the marrige of Aegon and Helaena the greens still had quite alot of cards on the table. 1. Aemond should have been married to Floris Baratheon by the time he turned 13 or 14. Then he would have had a couple kids by the time the dance starts 2. Daeron should have been sent as a ward of Highgarden instead of Oldtown. He could have possibly persuaded the Tyrells to fight for Aegon through marrige. The only female Tyrell cousin that is named during Viserys, Aegon ii reign is Gallisa, so he could marry her which would turn most of the reach into green supporters. Daeron wouldn't have to force them after the Honeywine battle. 3. This could also be achived by betroving Jaehara to the infant lord Lynol Tyrell. Helaena wouldn't have to let go of her go untill she came of age. If war still broke out then she and Maelor would be deliverd to Highgarden or both to Storms End. Finally after the 2nd battle of Tumbleton is over they would still have plenty of men to march to Kingslanding and line up with the Baratheons to face the Northmen and Riverlands forces
I think the best pacts would've been with the Starks and Tullys.
Hell no. That's giving two families the chance to get freaking dragons.
You can see now the hypocrisy of Alicent
Just imagine how both of them were forced to sleep together...
On Aegon's part I don't see any impediment on his part (We know that he didn't discriminate against anyone in that sense) and because of Helaena's aptitude both in the series and in the book, as well as the fact that she had three children with Aegon makes me think that she didn't care much about be married with him, It was just another duty for both of them.
In the book they got along well. In the show it is implied that he has to be drunk to be able to "do his duty" in Ep8. Can't blame him. He is practically forced to sa himself and his younger sister. Would explain why he is so screwed up, that he doesn't understand consent.

"They Have Queer Customs" -Alicent
I think the greens realized this wasn’t the smartest option but made the calculated risk for a reason, a fairly obvious one: to increase the chances that Aegon and Helaena’s children would retain dragon riding abilities, because they are gearing for a major war and want to boost their credibility and claim to the throne. Once Alicent had grandchildren, she could use promises of future marriages to the babies to other houses if they also had young children, making promises for down the road rather than the more immediate concern of having more dragons hatch and having more possibly dragon riders to claim the adult, unbonded dragons, if for no other reason than to prevent the Blacks from claiming them, which they immediately do, using the dragon seeds to try and claim unbonded wild dragons or those who haven’t had a rider in a generation and are basically feral again at this point (Vermithor, fuck yeah)
I think Alicent required her kids to marry each other in the traditional Targaryen way to show they were true Targaryens, unlike Rhaenyra's non-Targ looking children. She was also maybe a bit concerned that if she married them to non-Valyrians, their quarter-Valyrian kids wouldn't be able to claim dragons.
Rhaenys and Corlys probably demanded Rhaenyra betroth her sons to their granddaughters to ensure that Velaryon blood was on the iron throne, but by agreeing to it, Rhaenyra deprived Alicent the option of marrying her sons to the only Valyrian dragonriders out there.
You know ironically, if they married Aegon to Rhaenyra, he might have turned out better with outside influence instead of his mother and alicent constantly in his ear. It would have fostered a deeper bond between all the siblings.

But surely marrying them off to other houses would dilute their dragon blood and allow other houses to have dragonriders and strong political rivals, much like how the Hightowers did
For not liking his sister he didn’t even have her the courtesy to wait till she at least was a bit older. Poor Haelena.
a 13 yr olds seed is so thin it would probably need to be collected before depositing😂
My issue is that for some reason people blame alicent for marrying them when clearly it was Viserys who did it
Henry VII's mother was forced to have him when she was 12, and that damaged her so much she could never conceive again.
That poor girl... the twins would have in all likelihood either killed her or made her unable to have children for the rest of her life. One child would be bad enough, but twins... Jesus.
There's a reason your body CHANGES as you go through puberty, it isn't bloody ready yet.
luckily for her that didn’t happen as four years later when she was 18 she gave birth to a boy called Mealor. All three of her kids are seen in the tv show. She probably could’ve had more kids but Aegon stopped boinking her after she went insane.
Thank you for these shorts. I tried to do the audio books when GOT was out and just couldn't follow along.
Helena and Aemond would have being a better choice because the first son was cruel and crazy
Aemond is literally way worse than Aegon...
@@vayne-he9yi I know that but he loved her in away
@@anitabarnes He didn't love her. There is zero mention of this in the book and even in the show, nothing implies he loves her. All we have is one line of him saying "he would do his duty and marry her", which is meant to show how serious he is about his duties in contrast to Aegon who doesn't care. It has nothing to do with him being in love with Helaena.
@@vayne-he9yi I understand but the way he looked at her
@@anitabarnes Ok this is just headcanon then, nothing in the script or book implies Aemond is in love with Helaena.
The Tyrell’s didn’t want any part in the Dance, right? Or why are they not mentioned?
In a fic I did in the past, Aegon secure House Baratheon and Helaena, although not for the Greens but for a original faction, secured the North.
The Greens have four cards to secure great houses, the Blacks only two, bad playing at all.
Than that would have let the tyrells and the vale to have dragon riders
Homie titled the video like Aegon is a predator when the dude was also a child
Brother and sister marrying is just disgusting!
Not in the Targaryen bloosline
Imagine having 2 kids at age 14 🤢
No them marrying each other honors the traditions of old valariya gotta make sure that Targaryen blood doesn’t thin out
Interesting that they followed the Targaryen tradition, but if they didn’t there would’ve been so many houses that had dragons/dragon riders-so probably for the better
No. The dragons would of ended up dying off as they did before game of thrones
Helaena on the show is interesting. I get, "Rain Man" vibes from her
Damn, incest between two teen siblings? Fucking wild.
I must say Tom Glynn-Carney is doing a tremendous job portraying Aegon so far
The Habsbergs In A Nuttshell
If she married Jace, there wouldn't be any war between black and green
In the show VISERYS declared Rhaneyra as his heir and all the Lord's of westros respected/accepted right then why don't they support her claim to the throne and why did the people and Lords accepted when Alicent proclaimed Aegon as the king even before king Visesrys funeral
Because the vast majority of lords who had taken the vows of loyalty had already died by that time and their children had taken their places and they didn't have to follow the oaths of their fathers, so even Rhaenyra and the blacks had to offer conditions and deals to the houses that supported them to join their cause, if the oaths of loyalty had been worth anything at that point those deals and conditions wouldn't have been necessary.
The lords of Westeros didn't care much about who had the most right to the throne, but rather who would benefit them the most.
@@edgarrojas5060only starks were honourable in such cases. They were abided by the oath of their ancestors like cregan sided with rhaneyra. Other houses don't give a fuck😂
@@Berserker--18 And the most ironic thing is that Cregan Stark also set conditions to give his support to the blacks, that the first daughter Jacaerys had was sent as a ward to Winterfell to marry Rickon (Cregan's son and heir) that is, he asked to have blood ties with the Targaryens, that guy didn’t lack ambition and intelligence.
@@edgarrojas5060 offcourse marriage alliance ensured deeper bonds in those times but also when daemon was discussing battle plans, rhaneyra was 90% sure that Starks will support them because of their honour and not to mention the legend cregan was .
Actually, Rhaenyra had more supporters from great house than Aegon, and her supporters remained loyal even after her death and marched on Kingslanding to avenge her. Aegon's supporters left him alone, then killed his a$$ @Berserker--18
Their mother already wasn’t valerian so if they had kids with someone who didn’t have the blood of the dragon, their blood would be diluted even more the blood of the dragon is how you bond with dragons and without dragons, the Targaryen are just like everybody else
Alicent suggested it and Vasari said no because he wanted Rhaenera remain his air
Did you know that the actor who played younger Aegon is actually David tennants (doctor who) son
Hmm interesting thought to leverage Aegon to help secure the Tyrells Tullys or the vale. I'm sure Otto may have made that case to Viserys. But they needed riders, probably why he chose to wed true blood targaryens to increase their odds. More important than fuelty of any house
Their childrens were to young to fight anyway
They married them so that their Valyrian blood would not be diluted, and their children could be dragon riders.
They have nice adorable children, hope nothing bad happens to them
Nah If Alicent had just agreed to marry Helaena to Jacaerys then all will be well and they wouldn’t have any war.
I wished Haelena married Jacaerys as he would’ve been a better husband and probably would’ve calmed down the family drama but knowing alicent she would’ve hated the idea of Haelena marrying a “bastard” .
I only mention of these two because of the scene where jaceaerys asked Haelena to dance since Aegon was ignoring her 🤧
The vale would not make sense because it's ruled by a woman and her rights a rule would come into question if she were to side with aegon plus her cousins were on bad terms with her so that would just be impossible
why be a lady when you can be a queen.
@@mesa577she wouldn’t be a queen she would side with the greens meaning that she believes in the idea of men coming before women and that would be hypocrite of her and could end with her own men revelling to take her place
@@mesa577Not everyone is green
Rhaenyra and Alicent were both foolish for not securing those alliances as early as possible
I know that inbreeding, political alliances and marriages, and playing with fire even from a dragon, would not lead to anything particularly productive.
Uuuh. Wasn't young marriage normal back then? These books were pretty much aimed around the same centuries. Back then, most girls got married off at 14-15 or even younger. In their eyes, it was a normal thing...
Did you know that in the books 📚
Anyway subscribe for more
Time change in the show fucked me up cuz old Aemond looks like mid season Aegon
well they obviously didn't know they'd be in a civil war and it'll create problems like giving valerians dragons
Poor Helena. Such a tragic figure.
The whole reason they didnt marry others to support the claim was because viserys was not team green. Bro did not at any point think aegon should be king
> should have married Tyrells or someone
And risk having non-dragon-riding kids?
The greens have literally no moral high ground
We still not overcome that death of jaehaerys Targaryen
That’s why they all Go mad 😂
Bro, don’t put the “plumper” line. 😂
I hate how the cast doesn't have purple eyes :(
purple contacts look kind of silly though cgi could’ve been a good option as well
Cool how this whole thing was influenced by the war of roses - a series of civil wars between the Lancaster and yorks of England
It's not mentioned that it was Viserys who arranged the marriage.
My boys and I are making our own conference army Air Force navy lmao gonna be so fun
Let's be honest, Viserys was a terrible dad to every kid of his not named Rhaenyra
Alabama
Fr but back in the days it happen a lot to keep the bloodline pure
Yes.... we knew that... book and show are the same on this 😅
At the time there wasn't an impending war lol.
You know what. You can’t say that Miranda didn’t love her daughter 😂
Disturbing
Are you using real artists art and not AI art? Because of that's the case..
I love your videos 🎉🎉 I can sense they are real!
Honestly, the safest bet would've been to marry Aegon to Rhaenyra
They wouldve never married Haelana to someone outside of the House. Haelana was a dragonrider which meant that any marriages between her and some other Lord would result in other dragonriders especially since dreamfyre was known to lay alot of eggs. Jaehaerys' daughters were not dragonriders which is why they couldnt take dragons with them nor could their dragons lay eggs thus securing the dragonriding gene. Although it wouldve made sense to marry Aemond and Daeron to other houses
Got aegon mixed up with aemond lol
They should’ve married Aegon II to Rhaenyra
It would have help them
The Tyrell remain neutral (north and south reach supported Rhaenrya)
The riverlands started off with being greens but then Daemon just walked in took harrehal and “convince” the Lords like lord motton and Tully to become black. Many river lords remain loyal to Darmon even when Aemond and Vhagar were burning day and night.
And the vale was loyal to Rhaenrya and even house and shelter lady Rhaena for entire duration of the war even when it was known she and daemon did not share much warmth specially after the death of rhae royce. But she protected Rhaena and made the girl her ward.
So when Daemom killed Aemond and Vaghar was dead the northen armies such as the knight of vale and the winter wolves were able to come down , while Dalton greyjoy ravish the westernlands.
No wonder the green panic in KL and decided that at the end of the day they had another Aegon to spare. II, III who cares as long as Cregan stark doesn’t cut my head off when he gets to KL.
They should’ve married them to the Velaryon cousins in Driftmark
