Yes, because it is LITERALLY cheaper to build homeless shelter than to pretend they don't exist. If I'm ever moving to another country, Finland is on the top of my list.

The small country where my former favorite mobile game originated from also gets rid of homelessness, yet the massive one made up of 50 states that abolished treating groups like less of a human in a literal war has to find every way to make sure the homeless die miserable.
For those who are curious, male seahorses simply carry the seahorse eggs in a small pouch. The female still births the eggs, but they deposit them in the male's pouch
Female spotted hyenas have pseudopenis that's an elongated external vagina. It is also the birth canal, and first time mothers have to bite off the tip of their "penis" just to birth the pups. (Many hyenas die this way)
Iirc, I believe the reason for that is so they can be more efficient at reproducing. Everyone's giving all the street cred to the rabbits, yet seahorses be like "Am I a JOKE to you?" XD

8:31 She got lucky. My brother worked at a hospital, and a guy that had bariatric surgery ate BEANS that his mother gave to him the next day of the surgery. He almost died, but the doctors were able to save his life. Then, when he was in his room, he complained he was hungry again to his mother, who gave him yogurt. He died after his stomach burst AGAIN. The mother was just trying to "comfort" her son who was hungry. Sorry lady, but you successfully committed a murder.
Had to take an old lady who was hit by a truck to the ER. It turned out she needed emergency surgery. The stupid hippie with me that wouldn't call 911 because f*** the police and called me instead claimed that the reason they weren't letting her drink or eat anything was because they wanted to charge her for an IV because American healthcare. Then when the elderly lady was being childish over the covid testing necessary to clear her for transport to the hospital capable of doing the surgery said hippie complained about how they knew a guy in college that had been testing non-invasive methods claiming that there had to be alternatives that the nurses simply weren't using. Knowing that people aren't supposed to eat or drink before going into emergency surgery for a reason, and that the testing phase for something that is going to be implemented in saving lives within hospitals take a long time on top of how long it takes to mass produce and distribute... I wanted to slap them for endangering this elderly woman's life by not immediately calling the police and getting her into an ambulance. I refrained and instead managed to write down all the medications she claimed to be allergic to on a sheet provided to me by the nurses and in turn saving her life as they had none of her medical records on what she was allergic to and she was refusing to speak with said nurses. It was a nightmare that I was randomly involved in because I wasn't even told the full extent of that woman's injuries. Hippie called me for a ride because they thought everything was fine. I said she needed to go to the ER and I'm glad. Do I hate all hippies no not even close. I do hate that one though.
They are always told NOT to feed/eat anything for 24 hours before the surgery. The results of not doing this are posted ALL OVER THE INTERNET from doctors telling the stories of those who didn't listen. At this rate, feeding someone preparing for a surgery when there's 24 or less hours until said surgery and neglecting to tell anyone SHOULD count as first-degree murder. I mean, you clearly already had plans to ignore the doctor's very specific orders, since you either brought food for your child, or brought money to pay for food for your child. By now, that shouldn't even be reckless endangerment(WHICH IS A CRIME IN AND OF ITSELF, AND YET NONE OF THESE IDIOTS WHO DID IT TO OTHERS HAVE GONE TO JAIL YET, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, LEGAL SYSTEM!?), it's just straight up attempted murder(full murder if the person dies due to the person who fed them feeding them).
*Prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.* or *Perceiving and judging people only on the basis of their belonging to a particular sex or gender* It doesn't seem to say anything about prioritizing one gender over the other but yeah it was sexist. I love how this dumb feminist cafe crashed and burned. If it was targeted for only women, then the lack of male customers shouldn't have mattered. But clearly their business model was so trash that even women boycotted it 😂. All sexism is trash, end of story. Be the bigger person!

About the person who ordered spike strips for their driveway: if they've already put up a "Private property: no trespassing" sign and people are STILL trespassing....... they're fully within their legal right to do that so long as the spike strips are entirely within their own property, and the liability falls entirely upon the trespasser. Like, there was a sign. You did not read the sign. It's your fault for not reading the sign. 🤷♀
nah, there are laws about this sort of thing. you can't place traps on your property that can cause harm to trespassers or their own property, such as tires. if this seems dumb to you, consider- what if one day a fire started in her house, and a fire truck pulled up, over those nail strips? or what if the fire was somewhere else nearby, and the fire truck had to use her driveway to turn around?
12:25 The idea that you only have a few fixed days per year that you can be sick is just insane to me. Everybody gets sick at some point, sometimes seriously and for longer periods, and you cant do anything about it. It must super stressful working in the knowledge that if you get into an accident or get ill you not only have to deal with that, but you also get fired from your job or dont get paid anymore.
Thats not entirely the case. Not all job have sick days, and those that do will give a fair number of sick days. Most jobs just have PTO (paid time off) and if you are sick you use those. If you are seriously sick and go over the time off you have you can file for FMLA which provides up to 12 weeks of time off; however, it is unpaid. Since you are still employed you still get to keep any insurance plan provided through you’re job though. Most insurance have a policy in which after you reach a certain amount of money you owe them you no longer have to pay any medical bills for the rest of that year(there is a term for that I forgot it). So if you are seriously ill, or a family member is you can still get time off and keep your job.

7:20 as someone with quite a few disabilities, the idea that people think disabilities shouldn’t be cured is ridiculous to me. If there was a cure to any of my disabilities, I’d take them in a heartbeat, but I have to live with them because there isn’t. We shouldn’t shame people for wanting to be able to function like able-bodied people
Yeah, I TOTALLY agree with you here. This sort of mentality should be reserved for certain disabilities such as Autism, which is not only more of a Cursed With Awesome situation in quite a few cases, but actual attempts at curing it do more harm than good. If all a disability ever does is take something away from you, like your eyesight, hearing or ability to walk, then it should be cured. If it's just something that makes you function differently from everyone else, then being understood and working around your differences is far better than any attempt at a cure.
i think they might've come at it like that because of all the people who try and campaign "cures" for disabilities (especially neurodivergence, but i'm aware that isn't the topic here) instead of working towards public acceptance of those disabilities. this person likely sees it from the perspective that instead of our first thought being "they should get that cured," it should be "they should get the help that they need". i'm disabled myself and i don't wish to invalidate anyone's opinions, but here's my take on this. it's great that options exist for people who want to get treatment to restore or add ability, but because many of those people don't have access to that or don't want that kind of treatment for whatever reason, society needs to do better and take steps towards making the human world accessible for more humans.
As another disabled person, I think the main issue here is autonomy. If I have the choice to cure my disability I'd probably do too. But I don't want anyone to decide that for me. Bc then it would feel like they do it bc "curing" me is for their benefit bc I'm less of a "burden" and it'd be easier than fixing the system that makes living with disabilities harder. Just my 2 cents, it's a nuanced discussion 😊
I actually think the person who made the original tweet probably was more put off by the way the genuinely good deed (I assume, I don't know anything about mr beast or his humanitarian work) was presented in the video/thumbnail. the facial expressions look barely human and it's presented like he personally cured them instead of just paying for it. like the true purpose of paying for the treatment was so he could brag about it on youtube - *that's* what's so unnerving about it. I know mr beast's thumbnails are always like that so it's not a choice made specifically for that video, but it does hit different in this specific context. idk, maybe in the video mr beast acts like he's the one true saviour to the blind, "rescuing" these people from blindness like all blind people are suffering terribly and he's their only hope. which WOULD be kinda demonic! or maybe they think it's demonic that a youtuber is doing this instead of a government-funded public clinic, which I also would say is pretty fucked up. but the person quote-tweeting is just........ no, dude. next you'll be saying people shouldn't relearn to walk after they have terrible injuries that temporarily confine them to a wheelchair because that's letting ableists win......

The little "feminist" cafe in Sydney made a campaign in 2017 to inform about the 2016 gender pay gap in Australia. They charged men an extra 18% one week a month at that time. "Men will be charged an 18 % premium to reflect the gender pay gap (2016), which is donated to a womans service". They closed in 2019, because the owners were young and want to try out other businesses. It is 2023 now and the internet hates on them now for charging men more, pretending it was just for hate against men. I wonder why there is not so much hate about the Pink tax, that is going on in nearly every store around the globe. They definitly had a point in 2017, some people only find empathy if it happens to them, but I guess we know now the majority don´t find empathy even if it happens to them.
The "pink tax" doesn't get as much hate because it's not even remotely the same thing. Women can just buy the cheaper "men's" product. And about the wage gap: an eye for an eye leaves the world blind. This café was a horrible idea, and I'm very glad it's gone, although I am sad that it's owners aren't in debt from all the money they stole.
@@wta1518 To be fair, if they announced beforehand that they would be charging 18% extra towards men, then it is not stealing. Any man who went in during that week was knowingly donating to the womans service, and showing support for the cause. Doing it unannounced would be petty, doing it how they did is a statement. Even if you don't agree with the statement they're making, calling it stealing is just terrible framing.
They did not have a point in 2017, unless in Australia they do not have laws outlawing paying men more than woman for the same job? Such laws have existed since the 70's here and the only reasons this 'statistic' exists are stupidity and the need to feel victimised.

pov emkay has no clue how businesses work (referring to the volvo heist thing in north korea) when you enter a restaurant, you order food, eat it, and then pay on your way out. is it the restaurants fault that they got outplayed? no, you just committed theft. maybe this isn’t as common of an example but in the jewelry business and specifically jewelry flipping and distributing, when you sell a watch worth 100k, you give it to the person and make a verbal agreement for 100k, you don’t take 100k right away, but you expect an invoice because if they don’t send you it, it’s really their loss because nobody else will ever trust them enough to do business with them. every major deal literally ever where party 1 orders a product from party 2, party 2 will always deliver the product to party 1, and after that party 1 will pay. in the north korea example, they ordered and did not pay, they didn’t “outplay” sweden. it’s called scamming. and they ended up taking the L since no more major car companies did business with them ever again. it’s very hard to watch you laugh so much at sweden while being that far in the wrong. i don’t usually comment anything or get mad easily but i feel like this is important to know and a lot of people should have the general knowledge about trustworthiness in business.

Not all people want to be disabled, but not all disabled people want to be cured. It’s generalizations on both sides if that makes sense? Like. I wouldn’t want a cure for my ADHD. It’s the biggest part of me and I’ve come to love it a lot more than I did pre-diagnosis/treatment. I would want a cure for my other 7 disorders (yes, I have 8 disorders) because they don’t bring the kind of joy ADHD can. My language disorders don’t make me happy. My cyclothymia makes me toxically happy at times. My anxiety has never made me happy even once. But yknow what ADHD has done? Given me hyperfixations and a special interest. Yeah, maybe they’re more fun because of the dopamine struggle due to the ADHD, and there are negatives to it (otherwise it wouldn’t be a disorder), but at least I can confidently say my other disorders have brought me no joy while my ADHD has. Cure my other disorders (and my physical health issues while you’re at it), but leave my ADHD alone. (What I mean in the end is, it’s situational, like most things end up being. Don’t try to cure those who don’t want cures. Don’t avoid looking for solutions for those who want them. Be respectful of what we want instead of making assumptions for every disabled person ever.)

If you have a better one, I’m all ears, but I’ve seen and been told by autistic people that it’s fine. And also, if it counts for anything, I was ever so slightly below the minimum criteria for being diagnosed with autism (like if I needed a 7/10, as an example not an explanation of the way it works, I got a 6.5/10).

I know mr beast's thumbnails are always like that so it's not a choice made specifically for that video, but it does hit different in this specific context.
idk, maybe in the video mr beast acts like he's the one true saviour to the blind, "rescuing" these people from blindness like all blind people are suffering terribly and he's their only hope. which WOULD be kinda demonic! or maybe they think it's demonic that a youtuber is doing this instead of a government-funded public clinic, which I also would say is pretty fucked up.

I hope there were consecuences, 25 minutes dead causes brain damage. The life of that girl just became a whole lot harder forever.
0:46 For anyone wondering Representative Jamie Raskin is going through chemo therapy, he wears it to distract himself from the hair loss, but why a bandana? Because he is a fan of rock guitarist, Little Steven who is known for wearing a bandana.
Damn I never new Italians were that good at jumping that they could literally jump from Europe to America...Maybe Mario is real after all.
I do help my dad around his construction business from time to time and let me tell you, unloading pallets upon pallets in the wrong spot or pallets of the wrong thing does happen. And 6k bricks is that much, lol. Good workout.
My sister once tutored for an elementary algebra college math class. This is math you should've learned in middle school. And there was this one girl who everyday would come in and my sister was assigned to help her. This girl's grade in class 5%, and everyday she refused to learn or apply any of the lesson my sister or her teachers were desperately trying to show her, because she thought she knew better and, "didn't like the way their math felt." Apparently her rich as shit mom came in with her one day to watch my sister tutor her, and apparently started crying, because they were all right, her daughter was the problem.
Can confirm, as a transgender witch I have absolutely no idea how to stop a plane from crashing.

Well, technically it could work out because is her property and she has the right to put anything in her property, but isn’t their right to user her property as thingy
Depending on the jurisdiction, it could still be illegal. There are a lot of laws against intentional hazards, even on private property. For example, you can't legally set up a shotgun booby trap, even inside your own home.
1:23 BRO I LITERALLY *AUUUUUGHHHHHHH* please help me brain exploded
I love how Robin busts down bullshit.

**Feels bad for the poor americans**
Don't feel bad for the poor Americans. They did this to themselves (and continue to do so)
Hey
Don’t be American. That’s why I’m Dutch and I live in Florida. Now my mom has a Lexus. Boom
@@danielcrafter9349 How is a child or their parents responsible for this. I think this problem is from people who are long dead.

7:37 reminded me o an episode of Urban Legend; a tv series about urban legends and whether or not they could happen and if they ever happened.
The segment was about an office worker who died of a heart attack early in the week and no one noticed until Friday. We are so close to making an urban legend become reality.
Because they can't smell death ?
I love hearing your points over the stores like 90% of the time.
12:00 my neighbor has chickens. My family now has local chicken eggs. It's a sweet deal.
"Let dumb dogs be dumb." I like it.
Okay the last one cracks me up. I take a walk with my great uncle every two days mostly at night and see Jupiter and Venus every time. And every single time for months he shows me some stars and star formations with their specific names, mainly Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Sirius. I'm usually rolling my eyes a bit when his spiel begins but this is definitely getting brought up next visit.
it's getting kind of hard to belive that humankind is good enough to make the world a better place
Well Finland is like the only proof of that.
there's a quote that goes something like "humanity named kindness. we gave kindness a name, therefore it exists." and while it's true that not everybody is evil, I absolutely agree that pessimism and nihilism is seeming more and more "factual" by the day. but that's what happens when people live in a Dystopia. Just gotta keep fighting the good fight, because someone has to if we want to see others win. That's what I try to tell myself, anyway: that the US and the other first world countries that aren't doing what Finland is doing, will change one day, not for worse. But ONLY if there are people who can withstand the war and fight the good fight.

This reminds me of this one video I saw of this man in a wheel chair drawing and commentating on why characters with a disability shouldn’t be "cured" and basically he said "they don’t want to be cured" which is just bs, I’m sure someone in a wheel chair would love their legs to work again. Then he want on this whole rant about how it implies "they are broken" and " not normal" which is true, their legs don’t work.
And he's right. The main thing disabling me is SOCIETY, not my body.
@@SketchUT ADHD isn't a disability, its a disorder. big difference. Also "special interests" is an autism thing. Its also not like the people in the video were blind blind either. They had something clouding a part of their eye and its a pretty easy fix but it costs a lot of money.
@@Alexander_Luv1 what IS the difference between disorder (a condition that inhibits someone’s ability to properly function in multiple areas of their life, like school/work, home, etc) and disability??
And I hear that argument a lot but my love of my SpIn is more than a hyperfixation and definitely isn’t a neurotypical-feeling interest so I don’t have a better term for it. And I’m assumed to be autistic by actual autistic people all the time lmao
I know what the video was about also. I saw part of it (got bored), and also. I have extreme myopia and an astigmatism myself. -10.5ish in both eyes. I can only get the surgery done in the Mr beast video iirc, not lasik or anything cuz my eyes are too bad. Sooooo, I know :)
@@SketchUT A disability is smth that will make it harder/ impossible for a person to do tasks vs a disorder which will just alter the way a person does the task. Some disorders can be argued as disability too (like in your case where you have a combination of things) and being "slightly below" is still fucking autism. What doctor is like "ohh your a 6.78 and not a 7 so i can't do anything" thats such bullshit! Round up you asshole!

In all fairness... They're hiring trans people outside of actual qualifications (from what I know)
I don't think anyone's going on a plane and thinking "I hope my pilot is LGBT!", they're thinking "I hope my pilot is as well-qualified as possible!"
exactly. the people i've seen talking about that aren't talking about not wanting to ride the trans plane, they are talking about it being another diversity checkmark hire instead of a qualified person hire.
5:04 what's that quote again? "nature loves diversity and society hates it"?
1:30 I refuse to believe that wasn't satire

One of the main things about being a Christian is you are supposed to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF, and sadly most of us have forgotten that, and it’s getting harder every day to follow. How did we get here?
The rule only applies to fully human persons
"I'm gonna let dumb dogs be dumb" should actually be a saying. I'd use it a lot. I might start using it.
Mr. Raskin wore that to cover his hair loss because he got back from chemo to treat his lymphoma cancer, and your biggest concern is that he's * checks notes * wearing a bandana.
