- Jim was born in 1938, went on his first flight in 1941, joined the US Marines in 1956 and attended helicopter school in 1958. In 1961, he met with the CIA onboard the USS Benington somewhere near the Philippines, whereupon he left the marines and joined Air America.... Later that year, he arrived in Bangkok, Thailand.
"Dirty" Jim is a loveable old rogue with a silver tongue and a kind heart. He is one of the very last ones left from that era, and is happily retired in the Bangkok suburbs.
Due to copyright issues, this is a re-upload, but with a new intro and outro. Please like and comment.

@@JBWanders73 ok will do
Respect Dirty for who is he , love that simultaneous hat trick. Second time watching is was just as interesting Jimmy 👍
Yes, indeed mate. Haha, it was an accident but I thought it was rather Laurel and Hardy-esque. Ah, thanks for watching it again mate... you are too kind
@@JBWanders73 😁✌
Another great video. Thank you.
Thanks a lot 🙏✌
Jim reminds me of a Navy Veteran friend of mine I worked with in Florida. My friend was Puerto Rican, looked Arab and worked for Saudi Airlines in Jedda. He’s colorful as well. A lot of crazy stories. He use to go to Thailand. Use to tell me, I have been to Thailand 11 times. 9 times my Wife knows about. I would like to meet Jim one time. I live in Thailand for the past two years.
🙏✌
Nice one Jim, a most interesting chat mate.
Cheers Daz, glad you enjoyed it mate
Nice one JB!
Thank you! Cheers!
I don't remember any bar called the Texan in Washington Square. He's probably thinking of the Texas Lone Star. That was still there in the 90s, but was run-down by that time, and the food was awful. The worst mashed potatoes and gravy I've ever had in my life were at the Lone Star. 🤣
I first came to Thailand Jan/1980 , I remember the Grand Prix Bar as it was the first bar I went with a Thai girl .
🙏✌
He's been in The Land of Smirks a very long time. Think he's still wearing Rose Tinted glasses, though,
I think that, at the age of 86 (87 soon), he's earned the right to wear whatever glasses he wants mate 🙏✌😂
@@JBWanders73 😎
It gets very old, the rose tinted glasses that is.
@@Ned88Man It seems there's a Filthy Somchai handing those free Rose Tinted glasses out to Farangs over there. About the only thing you'll get out of them apart from The James Bond villain Smirks 😏
@JBWanders73 Yep, He can also believe in The Easter Bunny, flying Pigs, and The Toothfairy. Can't imagine how much money he lost from Smirking Somchais😏
