We had a Ford L9000 with a 318 Detroit, dual stacks,, The guy that drove it would put a piece of chewed gum in his left ear so he wouldn't go deaf. LOL
James Beshears I'm not sure if you're a smart aleck or trying to be funny. In case you don't know, I'll educate you. There's no such thing as a Ford with a GM engine. Ford's have Ford engines and if it's a desiel, it's either a Cat, Cummings or Detroit desiel. So, really what you're saying is stupid so take this advice and think about what you're going to say when you comment. A word to the wise should be sufficient.
I love how all the old truck drivers are going off about keeping it between 1750 and 2150 rpm, rev matching downshifts, mastering clutchless use of a 10 speed Road Ranger etc. Meanwhile my mom's old motorhome rocked a 6V92 TA with a dumb-as-bricks mechanical 4-speed automatic. It managed fine.
Nothing quite like a GM when you hear the crack you know it is tuned right. Drove a louisville with straight out pipes with a 692. Thats why i am partially deaf.
Have you all seen the video of the dog, and the ice cream truck? It is funny as ****. The dog gets so excited, and says ice cream. That was this guy, but with a Detroit coming up the road.
The 6V92TA means 6 cylinder V formation so V6 engine 92 means 92 cubic inch per cylinder T is for turbo the A is for aftercoiler which sits under the blower for it is a two stroke diesel 4 valves per cylinder but are only exhaust valves no inlet valves they have ports half way down the liner/cylinder wall hense the blower forcing air in every time the piston travels down and exposes these ports (blow bang) The other question what sort of trailer it’s a 1976 freighter solid single point suspension rough as to tow behind any truck but the old boss it seemed alright might be the length of it ?????
I love the BRAP every time the throttle is blipped for a downshift.... I do looooove the sound of a 2 stroke Detroit!
No better sound than a 2 stroke Detroit Diesel. Love it! Truck sounds great.
The top sound is the v12 71 been there done that many years ago.
E9 V8
I can feel the ground shaking, under the distinctive 2 stroke sound. Cool
I wish I had one of those to get my trash can in. An awesome sound indeed.
I drive an ‘80 KW 8v92ta 𝓐𝓤𝓣𝓞. I love these old two strokes.
Salute, brother!
That is one tough-sounding truck. Thanks for posting.
The sweet sound of the 2 stroke Detroit; it just doesn't get any better than this
I love Detroit Diesel I don't care if people think they're annoying I love them

@@caldwelljackson9482 look into who made Detroit Diesel Engines………
@@caldwelljackson9482 Detroit's are made by GM.. if you want to start educating some random people.. try to educate yourself before 🤟
Love them old Jimmy's had a 318 I'd my 359 74 Pete and a 8v92 in my grandfathers 79 359 pete love your rig!
Love the twin stacks, air scoops, and that large bumper. Looks like a logging truck hauling an empty lowboy trailer.
Our fire pumper is straight piped with a 6v92ta, damn they scream. I love your truck.
Damn that truck sounds good. Love it. Looks good too.

Reminds me of the vintage road way trucks....I love that Detroit, real power
Great White, nice Truck,Gotta love them 6V92 Detroit Diesel.
Loved hearing that wonderful sound and waiting in anticipation of what was approaching. 😀
I'd be gettin' out of the road a mile in advance if I heard that coming toward me.
The most menacing these things sound is when there coming down hill at 85 mph with Jake's on high. You can here them miles away!

Truck sounds Great!! Nothing like an old 2 stroke Detroit Diesel. Love em
Reminds me of the Happy Toyz truck from Maximum Overdrive. Awesome sound!!
How can anyone dislike this?
Greta Thumberg fans probably...
CARB too
dislikes are from people who lost hearing in the right ear probably

I miss my old silver 892, the best sounding motor..eve thoe im a cat person now...

Che bel sound che esce dagli scarichi!!! Stupendo 👍👌✌
What a vehicle to fetch the bins with 😉
This sounds great i"ll have to do a video and put it up of the 8V71 having a bit of full noise.
He must fucking love his truck.
That how those Merita Bread trucks use to sound back in the day....
that sound gives me goosebumps
Oh my God I love it
We need more videos of this rig
Reminds me of when I was a kid, trucks don’t sound that good anymore.
Carrying those bins with a slightly undersized truck and trailer was funny.
Yeah a mean machine with screaming jimmy, they don't make 'em anymore like they used to.
MOAR!!!
Love that idle
I owned a couple of 8v71's. Drove a couple 6-71 and 6v92 silvers. The 6-s were the most baddas ones in my opinion.
Ke hermoso suena ese motor
Oh fuck yeah , I could listen to that all day
Lol! Awesome sound! The dog unfortunately didn't like it!! 😂😂
What? How many gears does it take to get down your driveway?
Guy from Texas: yeah, I had a driveway like that, once.
😆 😆 🤣
god damn, those downshifts sound good...
i really dont know why 2 stroke detroits had their production ended...
1987 was the year banned in CA 2cycle emissions. This is Australian Road Boss noisy y-piped straight stacks. I prefer mufflers myself.
thats when we came down from the trees and became 'civilised'
X empezar , es una terrible máquina , segundo tiene él mejor motor , un excelente sonido , que nos deja muy emocionado .
Nothing like the sound of a Jimmy.
This video is entertaining to me...
Have you all seen the video of the dog, and the ice cream truck? It is funny as ****. The dog gets so excited, and says ice cream. That was this guy, but with a Detroit coming up the road.
Beautiful
Sweet sweet music.
His wife: 'Honey, will you take out the trash, please?'
Him: 'Sure babe. Let me just warm up the Detroit'.
Who notice the horses in the back trying to run for thier lives
Sweet beast
I wish I could afford one of them as daily driver.
Aussie Road Boss! ❤️❤️
Is there a better sound 😍
Nothing.. Absolutely nothing sounds better!
The 6V92TA means 6 cylinder V formation so V6 engine 92 means 92 cubic inch per cylinder T is for turbo the A is for aftercoiler which sits under the blower for it is a two stroke diesel 4 valves per cylinder but are only exhaust valves no inlet valves they have ports half way down the liner/cylinder wall hense the blower forcing air in every time the piston travels down and exposes these ports (blow bang)
The other question what sort of trailer it’s a 1976 freighter solid single point suspension rough as to tow behind any truck but the old boss it seemed alright might be the length of it ?????
its not a four stroke
I'm "barring-up". Lovely. We got ALL the technology now.......but somehow a man goes back to the 'ol stuff.
G'daymate, What brand trailer is that? I just got hold of one, looks exact same. Got a bit of work to do on suspension trunions.....
Cheers
fuckin uses that beast to move the bins
Damn that’s bad ass
Must be in Australia, mate!
Just a little American sweet sound for ears ☺
Literally looks and sounds like a fucking nightmare coming towards you
Look if I had a Detroit powered truck to take the bins in I'd be fairly happy to
Sounds mean!
White made some good trucks
Do you still have this old boss?
The absolute duckz nutz
Yea a Detroit converter engine. Converts fuel to noise
Lol the dog is like shit he is pissed up!! I’m not eating to night lmao!!!!
best sound)
A good paying backload 2 wheelie bins 😆
thats kickbutt
