    If you think that's a waste of water, then let me tell you something. When it gets dumped the water would evaporate and go back in the water cycle.

      Every time it rains it's a huge waste of water. We have to collect 100% of rainwater, or else we're wasting precious H2O!

    Why dump it on the road? Run it to the glovebox, put in a heater and a portafilter and voila... espresso on the go!

      The water is too pure to drink, which means it will suck minerals out of your body. Long term it would not be healthy to do so.

    • @Tennouseijin
      @Tennouseijin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There's a simple solution! Since we're already adding in coffee... why not add some minerals as well?

      I think if someone is dying of dehydration, drinking distilled water would still be better than not drinking anything at all. Imagine you're trapped somewhere and you need to survive a few weeks until a rescue party can get you out, and the only water you have available is distilled water (and your urine, as usual). I suppose drinking it would be better than dying of dehydration. You can catch up on minerals later.
      Though if I recall correctly, in the opposite situation, where you're trapped at sea, you should not drink sea water because it's actually worse than not drinking at all. I think?

    • @dh-1399
      @dh-1399 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes and no, the water is too pure to drink long term and it could be contaminated by all sorts of things in the air, fuel cell or the piping used to channel it to the ground but there's nothing inherently dangerous about it.

    • @ikichullo
      @ikichullo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good question. Yes and no. Yes, you would survive. No, it is not good for your health. It is too pure to drink, which means it will suck minerals out of your body. Long term it would not be healthy to do so.

    • @orangetiki
      @orangetiki 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      You don't want water for screen washer fluid because it would freeze in the winter, and expand in the tubes probably breaking them when the water turns into ice.

    An innovative car like this won't last for long, because if we're using this kind of vehicle, all of the major oil companies will be going out of business, such a shame because this is such a great car, quiet and yet innovative, just like the Honda FCX clarity

    • @Kipas_Maspoin
      @Kipas_Maspoin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i hope so, because i really really want to drive this car in my country well maybe not now, but 10 years from now, when all of the oil company has their own hydrogen refinery plant or something, and maybe then this car will be a mainstream car replacing those electric and petrol cars

    • @tomsixsix
      @tomsixsix ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the oil companies love hydrogen - shell, BP, etc are heavily invested in it. what they don't want so much is EVs.

    Disaster for cold climates. EV's a better solution

    • @mjosmoo
      @mjosmoo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AweMire Not common, think you need to travel more, maybe it's not common to have it as a regular occurrence to have freezing conditions but certainly a lot of the world has cold spells. Having cars pumping 7 litres of water every 100 kM in these conditions will create icy patches on roads and thus accidents. Not the best idea.

    • @ghans2305
      @ghans2305 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +mjosmoo No it really wouldn't. In an airplane, you have heating systems that heat the pitot tube of the airplane when in a humid environment to prevent icing in the pitot tube and loss of certain instruments. Here, they could simply add a heating mechanic to the water storage tank, and to the water lines right up to the moment it is purged. Even in extreme cold temperatures, which I'm sure you would not be driving this car through anyway, you would have no problem with ice blockage in the purge system.
