This was all pretty much one type of California chaparral or another. The first part was the transitional area on the very edge of the Colorado Desert (part of the greater Sonoran Desert). It's still intermixed with some chaparral plants like the Deerweed the bumblebees love at the beginning. It is in the pea family and is great for nitrogenating your garden soil. I have lots of it in my garden. You then go back into regular Chamise chaparral at the water gate, and get of bit of oak and grassland around warner springs. North of Warner Springs you get into some old growth chaparral with big Red Shanks shrubs the size of trees. Chamise and Red Shanks are the only two plants in their genus (Adenostoma). You're back into pretty standard Chamise chaparral again to Mike's Place. - Good on you for knowing the birds. The Spotted Towhee and Bushtits are some of the most common chaparral birds. The California Towhee is also common.
Truly enjoyed this video also. The trail is surprisingly varied between lush and ...not-so-lush. Health to both of you, keep up the banter, happy trails ladies. Wishing you blue birds singing songs and blue skies ahead.
No such thing as a healthy tan 😂 It's true! Loving the advice! Omg love seeing that this is how the trailname was born! 😄 Love the Gladiator and birdsong learning bits 😄 Omggg the sunglasses debacle Nicola hahaha, terrible, but you seemed to handle it so well 😄
Hi Ladies, I think the sun must be getting to you, there was a lot of shit, chat waffle, especially at the beginning! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep it coming, it’s very amusing. 🤣
Fantastic video both , I am really enjoying the series of videos, and yes falling over and face planting the ground is not recommended lol bless you , keep on sharing.

@@WildHomeHiking Thanks for the prompt reply, I just think the sugestion is short, to the point, Definitely accurate, and as such, points to you both being Quintessentially British.👍👍
Not to be rude or nothin', but I suspect it's the location of the blister that may be the most, ummm, ahhhh "surprising" thing... Anyway, now having washed my mind out, how wonderful to see another video!
