I love the GameCube Pokemon games but I agree with u for the most part and honestly I'd recommend playing the ROM hacks of those games more since they're just better versions of those games

Honestly, without having played B2W2 and FRLG, the only thing that I would change is bump all the gen 7 games up 1 tier. Everything else is pretty much where I'd put it. If I had any controversial take for pokemon games, it's that the Battle Factory is the only good battle facility/building.

Diamond and pearl are just as bad as gen 2 and at the very most only slightly better. Platinum is the biggest third version upgrade and one of the best Pokémon games in general.

I think it just boils down to the fact the GB games are EXTREMELY dated and clunky. There's little to no reason to return to them other than "just because I want to." When people are playing Pokemon, 9 times out of 10 it's anything gen 3 on for a reason.

Like what? Yellow definitely made other improvements on Red and Blue, I'll give you that, but the fact remains that they're gen 1 games that don't feel good to play (especially in comparison to their remakes.)

It's totally cool if I get hate for it, but gen 4 is overrated. The anime was arguably the best, but the games are such a headache. GameFreak didn't get the level curve right until gen 5. Your entire team was growing at the perfect rate, and every game since made it too fast. I'll be the one to say it, BW2 was the best pokemon game ever (but I'm also currently playing Legends and it's really good too)
