    Can you tell me what was the device called which you put above your slider and below the camera which had the arm to push the camera? Do you know are there any remote operated sliders as well for even smoother camera operation?

    Thanks for putting this video together. As others have said, the music isn't necessary. I had hoped you would show the POV of the final shot when you're manually cranking the handle. I'm curious just how smooth the movement is with the handle. You went to black and kept me hangin'.

    really well done. I enjoyed it and learned a LOT. thanks for creating this. Im looking at buying this slider. Only thing i wish you had done was to show the video that you shot using that crank handle... id like to see how it compares to the video of you pushing the unit down the rail... seems the slider would be smoother. if you make that video please do let me know! :) thanks again!

    I actually didn't see any bending when it was on the ends. If you look closely its the tripod mount that the slider is on that has some "give" to it and cause a slight bend.

    I have not had a good experience with the Konova K2. Very low friction to the extent that you have to use a finger on the rail as you slide to get friction + I have play in the bearings that mean you have to also put extra weight on head as you slide to minimise bumps. I would give it a 4-10

      Stefan Klinge Looks really good, thanks for the quick response and I've subscribed! For just basic TH-cam videos and a few projects here and there which one would you recommend?! I'm on a budget of around £100 give or take a bit!

    • @StefanKlinge
      @StefanKlinge  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Max Smith I've made some good shots only by hand. I would go first only for the slider. And then try it out . You can order a motor always later. Maybe you can find used slider one on ebay. There are often good offers. As for the length... I'm very satisfied with th 100cm slider. But sometimes it is a pain in the butt with transportation :-)

    • @maxsmith711
      @maxsmith711 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stefan Klinge Thanks for the reply again. I'll probably get the 80 - 100cm slider. The slider is about £200 and it would be about another £200 for the motorised slider! What do you think! Just go for the normal and maybe get the motorised accessory later on if I want it!

    • @StefanKlinge
      @StefanKlinge  9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it possible to mount the crank kit upside down? This way the crank would be beneath the slider rail, and thus able to turn without colliding with the camera or the head.

  • @StefanKlinge
    @StefanKlinge  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hey David... I can't answer your question directly... maybe you haven't linked your google+ account with youtube already?
    But to answer your question. I really have not any issue with it. Instead I buyed a Motor from Konova recently. I will do a video soon where I compare the Motions, only with hand, with crank handle and with the motor.
    Thank you for watching

    Thanks for creating and posting this video. I was a little worried about ordering this slider because it was designed for DSLR. How does it handle with the weight of your Camera.

    • @StefanKlinge
      @StefanKlinge  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take The Stage NC Entertainment Hello. It was no problem, because my camera is a Canon XF100 and it is almost as lightweight as a DSLR. For bigger Cameras like the Sony FX7 or the Blackmagic Ursa it is not recommended. But with the Ursa Mini it could work You also have to consider the weight of your videohead. I had a Manfrotto 502AH and it was OK.

      @StefanKlinge  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +E-Media Hub Hi... thanks for watching. It depends on your needs and the transportation limits. For a fast documentation I would say 100cm is a little long, but for music videos 100cm is very useful.

    Ich hab mir Gedanken über die Traglast gemacht. Wie viel würden Sie auf den Slider packen? Ich würde gerne einen manfrotto 502 video head (1,6 kg), ein rail system mit follow focus (1kg) und eine BMCC (1,7 kg) mit Objektiv (600g) drauf packen. Also insgesamt ungefähr an die 5 kg.
    Meinen Sie, dass das mit diesem Slider möglich ist, oder wäre der K3 eine bessere Wahl? Danke für dieses hilfreiche Video!

    • @StefanKlinge
      @StefanKlinge  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ich denke, wenn man den Slider gut abstützt sollte das möglich sein. Ob das mit den mitgelieferten Füßen zum Anschrauben geht, kann ich nicht sagen. Tendenziell würde ich das nicht versuchen. Zwei stabile Tripods an beiden Enden könnte ich mir aber vorstellen. Ich würde versuchen immer ein Teil nach dem anderen aufzuladen und beobachten wie stark er sich durchbiegt. Sonst evtl. in der Mitte noch einen Monopod.

      Vielen Dank für die Antwort! Hat mir bei der Kaufentscheidung echt weitergeholfen. Den Slider habe ich schon, aber um ihn auf dem Staiv verwenden zu können, muss ich noch warten bis ein zweites Stativ ankommt. Sie hatten recht, eines reicht bei dem Gewicht nicht - zumindest nicht bei 1m länge.

    im thinking of getting 80cm or 100cm but i want it on a single tripod any recommendation ?

    • @StefanKlinge
      @StefanKlinge  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a 100cm slider. I think the difference between 80cm and 100 cm is not so big, regarding transportability and handling. If you want to travel a lot with it I would buy a shorter one. Hope it helps.

    After my bad experience with my first 37" K2 breaking one of the legs the first day in use. I decided to send it back to Amazon, This time I bought the 47" K2 and it arrived today . This one does not slide smoothly at all. I spent over an hour trying to adjust the slider after reading your very poorly written instructions.
    But it was no use the slider is simply manufactured poorly and the bearings hang up in the center and there is so much friction you hear metal on metal when sliding across the entire surface of the rail. I very carefully tried to adjust the bearings they would either be loose and sloppy or too tight,I could not get a smooth motion at all. So far based on my experience with Konova you seem to make poorly manufactured products. I now will have send this one back to amazon and wait another 10 days for a refund just like I had to do the first time when I purchased the 37" K2.

      Sam Hill what you say is really stupid. why do you think that every type of slider or dolly shot used on your favorite tv shows or movies are done so professionaly? they look extra smooth. there is no way you can accomplish this by using as you say " a steady hand and good footing" yeah, you can still get the shot, but it will look amateurish.

      +usachef100 oh really? maybe you still need a lot of training to get Steady Hand and Good Footing. don't Fap too Often...

      +Reporter Super maybe you just have to much shit in your brain. all that shit in your brain does not let you think clearly. as i said before, all Hollywood movie productions use sliders to get a profesional look. if you want to use your fucking steady hand and good footing, go ahead and do so, it will look just like the shit that is in your brain. surely you are a dumbass cheapskate and do not want to waste money on a good thing...you prefer to be a sorry ass amateur.....go play with your PlayStation and leave the the cool toys to people who actually care about cinematography... oh, yeah...I don´t fap like you do...i actually fuck real girls. bye looser.

    This slider is a piece of junk!, I bought two of them and had to return both to amazon. The motion was not smooth you could hear metal on metal friction and the slider bound up in the middle of the slide. I attempted to adjust it according to Konovas poorly written instructions and that was no use at all. I contacted Konova and received a very arrogant response that showed no concern whatsoever about making a customer who had two bad experiences happy. I would not recommend this piece of junk to anyone!

      I'm sorry to hear that. I'm very satsified with it, and considering the price it is( at least for me) a good bang for the buck.

      Well I'm sure they make a few that work the way they are suppose on a good day. But the truth is mine was terrible. Consistency is what makes a great company. And Konova is not consistent and they do not do right by their customers who have had bad experiences.

      It has its drawbacks... you have to re-adjust the bearings sometimes. But this is not a great deal. But compared with Kessler or Edelkrone.. so.. what shall I say? :-)

      Why do you think the KONOVA K3, K5 and K7 exist? It all depends on your budget, you get what you pay for. The K2 has issues which are known throughout the web for years, but for its price it can be considered acceptable. It requires very careful handling and cleaning.

      I bought a used K2 slider. Cleaning the track mechanism and using wax on the track as well as where the adjustable drag knob engages the side of the slider did wonders for smoothness.
