I've always enjoyed watching how the magic of Cinema is made. Yet not everything, I want to keep more of the magic unrevealed. For me, Kino is a magical thing.
Great video. Great slider camera movements especially the slider steadycam, that is such an amazing shot. I can’t wait until I get my slider, and this video has shown me I think I should buy a bit larger and sturdier tripod. Thank you so much for this video.
This is superb. I have just bought my first slider (taking delivery tomorrow) and your creative use is amazing and inspiring. Scenarios and techniques I would never have thought of. I'm going to give some of them a go and hope the execution and results are anywhere near as good as yours. Subbed!
I subbed, thank you! I'll be adding slider shots more often to my video sequences just for a better visual experience. These shots were excellent and thanks for the tutorial! Thumbs UP of course! We'll see if it improves my cinematography grade : )
Nice shots indeed however you gotta use some better quality glass next time, those rokinons always make skin tones look so unflattering. I used to have a set of rokinon cine primes and I ended up selling them because I got tired of the look that they produced. Ended up getting a set of zeiss contax primes and couldn't be happier. They have the same glass coating as the master primes so they look way better on skin tones with that classic zeiss punchy contrasty look with a ever so slight vintage hue to them with occasional tasty lens flares. Not to mention superb sharpness and buttery smooth focusing. Best part about them they cost just as much as the rokinons because they were produced in the 1990's but you can still find alot in immaculate condition. Anyway sorry for the lengthy comment just some food for thought. Great work!
A Benro Moveover 12 dual carbon slider & Benro Moveon 10 motion control is being used with a Sony a7s camera with Metabones adapted to a Canon 24-70 and Rokinon lens.
I'm a still shooter, I dont have much interest in video. However, I'd be lying if i said that this wasn't a very well made instructional video. The clip did it's job by telling a story..Just what a video is supposed to do. Well done.
I might have to start paying more attention to them... I once saw a similar technique using a toy pickup truck. not as smooth as a slider.. same idea though.. Imagination...
Also when using the lock as a friction brake, even with just the tiniest bit of friction added, the carriage slows and seems to bind while sliding it across the areas with the cheese plate/mounting areas, which ruins the fluid motion. I even have the slider mounted to a sturdy video tripod on the middle mounting bracket and have to light stands on each end to make sure it is level and solidly supported. I had high hopes for this slider but I am unimpressed

#MyTwoCents
Great ideas! Thanks!
Dont bother yourself with this slider crap you can frame all those shots with a jib. Something like this th-cam.com/video/zViFtf1_I-A/w-d-xo.html
Slider = large and light weight
Jib = large and super heavy + super tripod to support that mess.
#NoWay (unless you have a truck)
amazing perfect shots u r presentation is beautiful thank u so much
Thank you for amazing techniques!
The screws to attach the plates, they should have different type of screw hole you can use, like on kessler plates.
What type of camera were you using? pls
Very good.
